VERY disappointed in breakfast this time!! We stayed here two years ago and enjoyed a delicious sit down breakfast in the dining room. This time there was a to go counter and microwaved heated up eggs. Awful!!
Wonderful rooms. Love having the suite-level room. Great to have a little extra room. Welcoming and attentive staff will take great care of you. Indigo is my place to stay when visiting my Badger child or in Madison for business. Wonderful morning walk from the hotel to Madison Sourdough for breakfast and lunch, or dinner must-do is The Deliciouser for the best hamburger for lunch and a must-eat dinner when in Madison. Big shout-out to Sam Freeberg for taking great care of us. Sign up for IHG membership for perks.
We loved the modern atmosphere and upgraded room amenities and bath products of the Madison Hotel Indigo. The customer service of the front desk was amazing. Every staff member was wonderful, but we wanted to shout out Emma, who went above and beyond to help us retrieve a lost phone at 1am. We were desperate and she saved our vacation. Our first time to this hotel, and we will be back. Thanks for having such kind staff!
The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. Loved everything about it. The bed was very comfortable. The room was spacious, quiet, and well designed.
Wanted to host a meeting with you, but could not find a phone number for your sales department and your 877 number was not helpful either. Your online RFP form is terrible as well. Too bad - you look like a cool hotel, but you make it absolutely impossible to book with you.
Mo was very helpful and my check in experience extremely smooth. Really appreciate his postive attitude.
MO was very kind and helpful. Really good experience
I needed to spend 12 days and 11 nights here in Madison for business. I found that the Hotel Indigo had such a unique theme and a community, neighborhood vibe. All of my needs were met and I need to give a shout out to all of the people at the front desk, including Sam, Daniel, Irwin, Aiden, Clark, and Connor. Sam helped me before I even arrived in making sure I was set up with transportation and answering all of my questions. The restaurant was remarkable and I frequented it. Paula, at the bar was kind in making sure I got the spotted cow beer and the amazing cheddar beer bisque. Every day I needed to take a shuttle for work and the drivers were spectacular. Tyler especially was kind and caring and gave good recommendations food in town. I really appreciate it all of the fun games, records, nostalgia, and Madisonesque things to do and see at the Indigo. This is definitely a town for bike riding, water, skiing show views, wonderful food, university of Wisconsin views over at the Memorial Union and State Street strolling.
We had an absolutely fantastic stay at the Hotel Indigo! The entire property was spotlessly clean, but what truly made our experience unforgettable was the incredible team and the unique character of the building itself. The hospitality here is unmatched. Irwin, Aiden, Sam, Conner, and Daniel at the front desk went completely over the top for us with their warmth and helpfulness. Getting around town was also a total breeze thanks to Tyler on the shuttle, who provided excellent service and great energy. As a fan of anything historical, I was fascinated to learn from Irwin at the front desk that the hotel is actually a beautifully restored old Mautz paint factory! He took the time to elaborate on how all Hotel Indigo properties intentionally incorporate local history and design everything around the flavor of the neighborhood. It added such a cool, thoughtful layer to our 2 week stay. Madison Wisconsin is such a cool town! I recommend this property and staff highly.
Location, decor but it was not clean.
This property is average for a newer college town hotel, it’s not very clean or welcoming. It was strange when I checked in the front desk informed me the towels were not in the room because of airline personnel staying in room? I don’t understand what they were talking about! The worst part is the next day I was hoping to grab a sandwich on my way out the cafe literally had just closed - as in on the dot - I wanted to purchase the remainder that was sitting in the cooler - clearly they would toss out since it was already a few days old, and I was told no, the register was closed and they couldn’t accept cash? Why would ever turn down money!? Especially in food items that are going bad in the next day or two. This was bizarre to me - and they should accommodate their guests, especially when they have left over food items!! It’s just lazy in my opinion to not take the cash and record it later - plus they were extremely rude about it.
Our one-night stay at the Indigo was excellent. The check-in with Conor was professional and friendly, and the adjacent covered garage is a big plus. We had an upper floor room that was clean, and beyond a few scuff marks, well-maintained. After a walk through Madison, we had a late (for Wisconsin) dinner at the bar. The food was good and the cocktails well-made. While check-out is at 1100, we were able to leave our car in the garage until 1400, enabling us to have lunch nearby at Madison Sourdough. We have family near-by and will return to the Indigo.
How close it was to music Venus
The room felt like I was sleeping In a basement
My favorite brand of hotel is Holiday Inn Express. I think i might have a new option at the IHG properties. Hotel Indigo is a swanky, upscale hotel. This one is in a refurbished paint factory. The decor is great, and the room layout gives a lot of space to unwind. The service was excellent. I was attending an event at a nearby location, so I did not get to sample the breakfast or the bar. This location is highly recommended! The photos are of room 430.
Everything was great from the front desk staff to the rooms (beds & pillows were the BEST) to the coffee bar for coffee & breakfast. We were there for a gala and the front desk person shuttled us to the event just down the road because it was windy and cold out. So grateful for the top notch service!
This isn't really a complaint or something I didn't necessarily like, but the parking structure next to the hotel did not have a covered walkway to it and valet service wasn't available. That being said, it was just a short walk to the structure so it wasn't an inconvenience, unless it had been raining. But it was covered parking, so that was nice. Parking was $20 per night.
I loved everything about this hotel, from the staff to the cleanliness. The hotel was clean everywhere I went outside, public bathrooms, lobby, and my room. I will definitely go back.
Hotel overall was stylish clean and quiet. Room was incredibly comfortable
The curtain didn't go all the way to the far wall which allowed light to come in. I work 2nd shift so I need darkness to sleep properly. The water pressure was light and the shower door made a terrible screeching noise when being moved.
Clean, convenient and friendly staff

Fantastic potatoes, literally the best we've ever had
Excellent bar
Nathan was very friendly and helpful taking us to UW.
I liked the in room coffee machine and the quality of the coffee. All the soaps and shampoos we quality. The shower was well designed for singles or couples. Room to move and get in the groove.
No complimentary water for the coffee. Although the $6.00 bottle mineral water was a nice option, it seemed a little excessive for coffee. Also, no snacks in the room. At $200 a night a health bar or nut candy would have been a nice gesture. In the old days, a chocolate mint was a sweet reminder of care and comfort. Words are a cheap gesture of marketing love, whereas the item itself is a complete gesture. It goes a long way when words or forgotten. Especially theses days.
This was our 2nd stay at Indigo and we had a fabulous time on both occasions. The hotel and restaurant are beautifully and uniquely decorated. The use of electic color and industrial designing through out the entire building is impressive. Our room was spacious, clean and very quite. The staff is amazing and helpful. Indigo has been added to our list of great local get aways. Loved the showers and clever ways they incorporated the Mautz Paint theme everywhere.
Location to concert across the street , handy parking ramp, room service breakfast , friendly helpful staff

A hotel with real art in a cool old building. Refreshingly original in decor
All of the staff members were excellent! The bar and restaurant were great.
I wish I had a larger room and had had a choice re: view.
Nathan was a great shuttle driver. He took us to the airport from Hotel Indigo despite icy and snowy road conditions. He was friendly and easy to talk to.
Best part of our stay was our shuttle ride with Nathan! He was so kind and drove incredibly safely. The hotel is honestly lucky to have him! The front desk staff was incredibly helpful as well. The sheets and bathroom were clean and location was good.
Hotel Indigo is amazing I enjoyed my time through the whole time. I was impressed and placed at ease while I was going through my training at Epic. Nathan our driver was absolutely fantastic and down to earth. Thankful for the wonderful experience
Our driver was very helpful and considerate. He picked us up at the hotel and drove us to the wedding venue. We were very happy we didn't have to walk! It is a cold day in Madison.
Great location. Didn’t have breakfast.
My bed was starting to lose support.
Nathan was kind, personable and enthusiastic. I've been here before and the service he provides is consistent. Thank you Nathan, until next time! Happy Holidays!
Great hotel when visiting Madison. Rooms are clean and have lots of space. Located close to lots of restaurants and breweries. Great recommendations from Nathan on where to visit for good food and a good beer!
Love the hotel’s decor. Super comfy and everyone is very hospitable, especially our shuttle driver, Nathan. Will definitely come again.
Location, convenient shuttle service and driver (thank you Morgan!), clean and comfortable rooms. Amazing service. Could not recommend this hotel more! We will be back!
It’s nice, a bit out of the way. Ran out of hot water … had to shower elsewhere. They didn’t tell us about the parking garage charge at check in but did refund after we checked out due to the lack of hot water.
Morgan was amazing by picking us up after the football game. It was raining and snowing and she was very safe and efficient in getting us back to the hotel safely. Great job Morgan and thanks for your great service.
Great location, lovely staff
We love this hotel! We got an amazing ride in the complementary shuttle to and from our dinner destination- Morgan was delightful and made our night! We will recommend this hotel to everyone visiting Madison.
Excellent stay when visiting daughter at University of Wisconsin. Hotel shuttle service was very helpful. Great help from drivers Morgan and Nathan.
Excellent Hotel in a great location. Very friendly and helpful staff. Would always stay here when coming to Madison. Feel a little reluctant to rave about it, as I want to keep this place a secret.
Breakfast was quick and excellent
Breakfast was quick and very good.
Nice environment and guest focused staff
Location was convenient to our event. The hotel had a swanky vibe – but overall I'd say very expensive without the premium service or amenities that tend to come with one.
Staff were friendly and helpful
Convenient location, easy to check in/check out, helpful staff at the front desk
Room was very clean and comfortable
Modern and new
Always a great place to stay when going to a music event in Madison
The room had a "smell" and the curtains opened backwards. The room was ok and the bed was a bit uncomfortable. Nice place for people looking for a convenient place to stay near the stadium
Staff were extremely kind and helpful, Rooms were so great, tidy, and clean, worth the value, amenities were superb! Noice level was just fine, there was a concert across the street the last night, but not a bother because everything ended by 10pm. Loved the shuttles services, all the drivers were on time and efficient. Morgan, Nathan, Eric were fantastic drivers! Would definitely stay at the Indigo again!
I THINK THAT THE ROOM WAS LOVELY AND WELL APPOINTED AND LOCATED.
I WAS EXTREMELY DISSATISFIED WITH THE RECEPTION MY FAMILY MEMBERS RECEIVED AT CHECK IN. THEY PROVIDED LITTLE TO NO ASSISTANCE TO HELP WITH LUGGAGE TO BE STORED UNTIL CHECK IN, STROLLER, THE STAFF AT THE FRONT DESK DID NOT APPRECIATE THE NEEDS OF MY ELDERLY IN-LAWS, DAUGHTER WITH TWO VERY SMALL CHILDREN, OR THE REQUEST I HAD FOR STORAGE OF SOME ITEMS THAT I WOULD BE NEEDING AT THE WEDDING. THE PRICE WAS VERY HIGH FOR MY FAMILY MEMBERS AND I EXPECTED MORE FROM YOUR ESTABLISHMENT. I FELT LIKE WE WERE NOT TREATED AS WELL AS WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN CONSIDERING THE AMOUNT OF GUESTS FROM OUR FAMILY PAYING FOR YOUR HOTEL.
Attended a concert directly across the street , and fell in love with the property. Everything from the desk staff to room service was exemplary.
Very convient location. 1 mile from capital building and all shop surounding it
This is a beautiful and super fun hotel! The design incoporates it's past as a Mautz Paint factory. I didn't know this when we booked the hotel. We booked it because it was close to the Sylvee for our concert. The hotel was clean, fun decor and beautiful! We unfortunately did not go to the bar or restaurant but we will be back for sure. Also the hotel is within a very short distance to the Sylvee and visual distance of the Capital.
This was a one night stay to see a favorite artist of ours playing just down the street. The hotel was very clean and staff was very friendly. Hotel had a clean industrial decor. We sat on the patio for a night cap and ate breakfast in the dining room in the morning. The breakfast was delicious and service was excellent. The hotel was very close to the Capital. Parking ramp was right next to hotel but not connected, it had reserved parking for hotel guests.
We LOVED the Indigo. First and foremost the staff were great. Knowledgeable about the restaurants, events, anything we wanted to know. The General Manager, Zack was very helpful. It is built on the site of an old paint factory and they kept the charm. The decor was also based on this. The location was perfect in downtown Madison, walking distance to the lakes, restaurants, University of WI. An added bonus was the free shuttle within a 3 mile radius.
Hotel is in a great area within walking distance to great restaurants, grocery, the Capitol and event location. Hotel is beautifully decorated, modern and chic with a nod to the paint factory original building. Front desk staff was efficient and friendly. Bar staff was great especially the bar manager. Drinks are creative and fairly priced. Breakfast was good and fairly priced, service was great . We will be back- wonderful stay! Highly recommend!!!
Quiet, clean, tastefully decorated in main areas.
Very nice quiet hotel in a perfect location not far from the Capitol building and the university. Our room was very comfortable, the people were kind and helpful, the decor is industrial chic, and the food at the restaurant was tasty. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back.
In town for concerr at The Sylvee...perfect location - 2 blocks from venue! Beautiful hotel!!
