Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort - A Concept by Hyatt vs Similar Hotels

Mixed: Deluxe Ocean View Suite receives glowing feedback for views and balconies, but another stay reported an extremely small room and a problematic, uncomfortable rollaway that cramped the space.

Rooms described as dated with appliances not working; once excellent but in need of upgrades, so below top tier but still functional.

Rooms are well-appointed and comfortable; however, some initial rooms could be noisy.

Room quality is expected to align with Four Seasons standards.

Dusty bedding reported on the rollaway bed and worn appearance of that extra bed lowered cleanliness perception, otherwise no widespread cleanliness complaints.

Multiple reports of filthy rooms (bugs, cockroaches, hair left in bathrooms) and ants in a restaurant indicate below‑average cleanliness.

While the property is beautiful, noise from kids and chaos off the lobby indicates some cleanliness issues with managing common areas.

The room wasn't available as promised and had issues during a previous stay.

Repeatedly praised: excellent location (Wailea area), quick walk to shops and great grounds — consistently strong location sentiment.

Repeatedly praised — Wailea Beach location is a clear strength.

Excellent beachfront location with access to beautiful snorkeling experiences and amenities nearby.

The location is part of the Four Seasons brand, which is generally expected to be high quality.

Mixed: multiple reviews praise attentive, friendly and exemplary staff, but one detailed account describes rude, unprofessional and confrontational front desk interactions during check-in that significantly affected that guest.

Mixed but often very strong: one rave 10‑star account praising front desk and management contrasted with reports of rude pool/beach staff and missed birthday acknowledgements; overall leans positive based on standout front‑office experiences.

Staff was incredibly helpful, accommodating, and dedicated to ensuring a positive experience for guests.

Service was disappointing upon arrival, with staff not attending to guests promptly.
