The location was convenient to activities and sights. The afternoon & evening staff were warm & welcoming.

I was awakened by maintenance staff drilling in the room above me. The fee for parking including the taxes was very high. As welcoming as the evening staff was, the morning staff was rude and dismissive. The volume of front desk staff was inadequate for the volume of guests. More front desk staff was definitely needed.

If I was traveling to and from the airport I’d have given it 4 stars but kind of annoying from Newark Penn station. It’s also not walkable to anywhere really. Designed for people with cars more.

Rooms were nice and fairly clean. But showing its age. Batbroo.s need some upgrades! Free shuttle was great! Every 1/2 hour, was packed but they called another shuttle driver to get us all in.

They have a pool but no hottub. Said it had a spa. Front end check in was very robotic. Never smiled, monotone. You can make coffee in your room but none in lobby unless you want to pay $5 from the machine.

Enjoyed the stay at this hotel. The room was spacious and clean. Coffee was delicious. The gym was a decent size for a hotel gym. The front desk Nariah and her colleagues were wonderful as well as Manager Edith.

Gateway City Kitchen and Bar - the food was excellent and the staff were awesome!

Not a big deal but I know if I stay there in future. I wouldn’t send any packages to the hotel. Pick up times for your packages are 12 PM until 230 pm or 10 PM until 11:30 PM. Waiting time can be a bit ridiculous (close to 30 mins) if you’re picking up a package. The storage room for packages is very small and so unorganized.

Nothing it was disgustingly bad we cancelled our stay couldn’t stay there.

The hotel looks beautiful from the outside and the property is large. Unfortunately, the inside did not meet our expectations.

The carpets had a very strong unpleasant smell. The hallways were poorly organized, with carts, trash, and even a bed left in the hallway. Our bed linens and pillowcases also had stains, and we had to request replacements. Overall, the cleanliness and organization were very disappointing.

The room was decent

The bathroom was unhygienic, there was no iron in the room, the milk was not available with the coffee. No showers cap not dental kit.

I was sent angels and their names were Evonne and Edith. I had many layovers, cancelled flights and even having to circle over Chicago for 2 hours before diverting to their airport because of a storm that wasn’t allowing us to enter Newark . This long journey had me feeling exhausted and I was given a hotel voucher. Evonne and Edith were both bright, kind, helpful and even made me smile after my long journey. They truly made my insanely hectic trip a little bit easier to deal with.

The hotel was spacious and airy. Our family room was spacious.

The location is not great unless you are using as a stopover for Newark airport. Bathroom was very small. Main issue was with the staff. Not one member of staff smiled! NOT ONCE!! miserable and rude! Our room was not made up or cleaned even when we were advised that we should ask daily! There were never three towels in the room unless we asked. There were three people staying in the room. The shower gel ran out and was not refilled so again had to ask. The ice machine on our floor did not work for the majority of our stay.

The price was cheaper than many other comparable hotels. Staff were really nice and helpful.

The carpet may appear clean but there are some stains. Even if the price was cheaper than many other comparable hotels, it is still too expensive for Newark.

Only thing that was decent is the aesthetics when walking into lobby waiting area and restaurant is the ONLY thing that looks good don’t be fooled

The rooms were horrible we originally booked an accessible room for our grandma when we arrived they told us the room was not available . The front desk staff was very rude the male manager was very rude they did nothing to accommodate our stay . The rooms are old and outdated . We ended up having to pay to book another hotel room that family was staying at for our grandma and bring our children to this room but we had to drive miles back and forth to help out . They have our check in time for 4pm when we arrived they have guest staying in rooms late until 6pm that is not fair to people who reserved and paid for they room so we had to wait a extra hour for a room to be assigned to us . During the stay we called for extra towels and blankets they said they didn’t have any how do you have access to a pool but we have mo way to clean up first unsanitary issue . The room was dirty had worn socks behind the fridge . We booked queen room we got full sized beds . This was horrible . Manager is dismissive front desk females are young piercings in the face and very rude it’s no professional and makes the Hilton look bad I would hope higher up management do something about this because the Hilton used to be great doubletree not so much very disappointed

Phyllis at the front desk was extremely helpful and pleasant! I was initially given incorrect information regarding my check-in, but Phyllis was patient, professional, and took the time to help me figure out where the error occurred. She handled the situation with a great attitude and made the check-in process much smoother. I truly appreciated her excellent customer service!

Staff were not friendly. Cleaning staff said we were lying about unclean bathroom right after check in to the room. Staff were rude and unfriendly Room did not feel clean Management to not call to address complaint about room and unfriendly staff.

The location was beautiful, nice view in the night. Hotel was very clean and rooms were clean.

I think the night time staff could be a little bit better. Hospitality should be 100% better. As well as if paying for parking we should be able to be guaranteed a parking.

This hotel is nowhere near the terminals at Newark airport. If you have a big bag take an Uber for the 15 complex drive on arrival. Otherwise you will need to take a crowded bus and then the hotel shuttle. Very difficult. Returning to the airport is, however, easy as the hotel shuttle bus every 30 mins will drop you at all three terminals. It’s so annoying that Hilton don’t tell you any of this when booking. They say “ At Newark Airport”. IT’S NOT!! The hotel is nice although crowded with traveling families with kids. Breakfast is OK but $25 fixed price. The Marriot is really next to the airport with shuttles every 15 minutes. But it’s more expensive.

Upon entering my room, I found a roach in my bathroom and immediately notified the front desk. They moved me to another room but seemed surprisingly calm about the situation. The second room was old, poorly maintained, and unclean, with visible water damage. Although the lobby looks modern and well kept, the rooms do not match that appearance. When I requested a refund, the manager directed me to Expedia because I booked through a third party. Expedia contacted the hotel several times, but the hotel refused a refund or credit and allegedly hung up on representatives. If they were unwilling to help, they should have said so directly instead of wasting my time. A roach is a serious sanitation issue, and the hotel’s response and customer service were unacceptable. This property needs to improve its cleanliness, maintenance, and communication. I would not recommend staying here if cleanliness and superb customer service is your standard

. The elevator was hot and stuffy. Hallways smelled musty. The restaurant in the hotel, not so good. Sat 15 minutes before I was ask if I wanted a drink. Waited another 15-20 minutes to place a food order. When I finished eating, it took 15 minutes to get my bill.

Well...the elevator doors closed on my arm as I was getting in with several hot coffees and I couldn't open the door with my free arm. Surprised that there isn't a safety feature in place 🤔

Tldr. Booking because of the free shuttle? This hotel is not for you. This is mainly an airline staff hotel, not for families or regular travellers. It prioritizes them over everyone else.  The hotel is understaffed and shuttle service is terrible. Upper management does not care. If you read other review, you'll notice that this has been an ongoing issue for a long time.  The shuttle: A 15 seater vans come every 30 minutes but get filled quickly with airline flight crews who gets priority over everyone else. I was in no rush but couldn't get on until the 3rd van. Driver took off after telling the rest of us who were left behind that another one would be coming in 10 minutes. It was a lie. I noticed hotel has at least 2 vans but the it was the same driver doing the rounds. He was driving extremely fast. Wait time 1 hour and 40 minutes. Check-in: Once again understaffed. You can see that they were overworked by their demeanor. Robotic even when offering the chocolate chip cookies. When I arrived, there were 3 other ahead of me but then a group of 7 flight crew arrived and once again we got left behind. Wait time 35 minutes. The response: From other reviews, you notice that you get a pretty generic ai generated response from the manager about how disappointed they are that our stay was not up to our standards blah blah... My standards are pretty low. I'm tired from traveling, I need a clean place to stay, and I don't want to wait another 2 hours for it.  At this point, the whole warm chocolate chip cookie given to guests when we check in seems very gimmicky. Instead of offering us cookies, please offer us better service. Hire more people. Your staff, the guests and the airline crews will thank you.

We missed our connecting flight and United comped us a room at the hotel. The staff were so kind and helpful. I’d like to shout out in particular to Zinanya, who went out of her way to make us feel welcome.

The lobby and pool.

They put more pride in the lobby and facilities areas than the rooms. Bathroom was missing part of the sink at the bottom you could see the back wall with leak stains. No shower gel in the body wash container walls were appealing for it to be a hotel by the airport that people are booking constantly nonstop, very busy they should put more pride into the rooms than the actual scenery once you walk in.

Booking.com indicated that there was free on-site parking. I made my choice of hotel with that it mind.However, when I arrived, the hotel charged me $27 for overnight parking (1 night). The management indicated that Booking.com did not represent the parking policy correctly online. The result is that I had to pay $27 for parking and I feel misled.

The staff were not very responsive. Cleaning of the room was not done daily. You literally have to make requests for the same items several times before you are finally attended to. It seemed there were only three microwaves in the hotel. We were requested to pay N75 per night which what we exacted.

The Hotel is neat and easily accessible and the staff were cautious. The airport pick up was prompt.

I stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton Newark Airport to celebrate my Rebirth Day, the anniversary of the day I survived an experience that almost took my life. From the moment I arrived, he was kind, genuine, and incredibly accommodating. He made me feel welcomed, comfortable, and truly cared for. What meant the most was that he took the time to listen to my story and he responded with so much grace, compassion, and sincerity. His kindness wasn’t just part of his job it was truly genuine. Thank you again so much!!! The location was easy to find. Parking was a bit crowded but you will find a spot, I got a spot close to the back door which was very convenient after check it because I didn’t have to go all the way to the front if I needed to get to my car. You do have to pay for parking but I believe it’s included in your total already. The room was so nice and comfortable. I have the best sleep ever! THE BREAKFAST BAR OMG!!!! Everything was amazing. I couldn’t stay and they accommodated me with a to go platter and I had many options The food was so good!

I showed up at a hotel that I had booked online. That looks good online, but turned out to be a total dump. I immediately left after inspection and had nowhere to go. After reading reviews, I showed up here with my fingers crossed and dealt with.Zinahya at the front desk. She was a godsend! Amazing good at her job, and took care of everything quickly. She basically saved my vacation. She was even very friendly on top of it all. I’m very thankful for her and the experience I had here! I usually don’t leave reviews but I thought this deserved an exception, so I’m happy to leave one.

We had an international convention between 8/2 - 8/8. I dealt with management - Alexis, Gina, Crystal, Jude, and David. They were very professional and helpful. The facility is good and the service was good. I recommend them.

The hotel could not provide complimentary drinking water in the room. Room cleaning was not regular Theere was no variety in the breakfast

It was hard to park a lot of cars in the front parking no direction to people checking in the ladies out. Front was rude.

The banquet team assigned to my team headed by Mr Jude was the best. Mr Jude was on top of his game and kept us abreast of every move. He delivered to the detail and where changes occurred, he did not hesitate to let us know. We were so excited to have Mr Jude and his team of staff on our corner for the event. Thank you Mr Jude. You sure make Double Tree Hotel by Newark Airport look great. We hope to stop by when next we visit Newark NJ.

Room was a nice size and clean. However bed was very old and uncomfortable I did not get a good nights sleep. That said, way better experience than at the Marriott nearby. Love the cookies just wish with the electronic key from my phone I could have the cookie waiting in my room instead of having to go to the front desk, which kind of defeats the purpose of the whole key from your phone I don’t wanna have to go to the front desk so they have not figured this out yet with the free cookies which is a big downside for Doubletree at the moment and they missed opportunity

Sadly not worth the price tag. Check in was a nightmare, didn’t get our cookies, then had to drag 4 bags up to floor 12 on our own, no porters, no trolleys When we went down for food in the evening we waited 40 minutes before a server come over to say it wouldn’t be much longer, they had to serve everyone seated before they could take more orders, which would have been fine if they had said that in the first place The room was fine, bed was comfy but the fridge was a little manky and the bathroom needs a full refurb The guy who checked us in also forgot to give us our breakfast vouchers so had to wait back in line in the morning before we could have breakfast Couldn’t wait to leave in the morning so ended up with 5 hour wait in Newark

Conveniently located near the EWR airport and dependable shuttle service. Rooms are clean and confortable. Lobby is very spacious, nice bar, limited restaurant offering, my ribeye steak was black burned on the outside and raw inside. I rejected the steak and the water told me that it was the most rejected item in the restaurant. I don't think that they have the equipment to do the job correctly. At the time that we checked in they had a long line of people and only one person checking in, after a patron complained two more showed up. They had difficulty finding my room, I asked why was taking so long, I was told that the type of room I booked it was already taken earlier, it was 9:00pm but I said that I have already paid for the room. A supervisor intervened and she told me that they were fully booked and they were out of King rooms, I said give me a queen rom. After a longer wait they gave me a key, it was a King suit. So, the whole process was about 30 minutes. Does it mean that paying in advance for a room that is past the no free cancellation date that is already paid by me, the hotel sells it to others making double money thinking that I wouldn't show up? They didn't call me or email me or tx, that is unexpectable practice if true. I wasted 1/2 hour at check in.

J'ai passé un excellent séjour dans cet hôtel. Les chambres étaient propres, confortables et bien équipées. Le personnel était très accueillant, professionnel et toujours prêt à aider. Le petit-déjeuner était délicieux avec un bon choix de produits. L'emplacement est idéal et l'ambiance est agréable. Je recommande vivement cet hôtel et j'y reviendrai avec grand plaisir. The ICAN-USA group had a wonderful five days with Mr. Jude Kelly, who made the experience outstanding for all 60 delegates. The hotel staff were professional and welcoming throughout our stay. The hotel itself is beautiful and spacious, with excellent facilities suitable for guests of all ages.
