Great stay

Great value for money. Breakfast was yum. Happy with indoor pool and slide. Room had extras like bigger fridge and small cooking options.

Curtains were old and broken so had to put chairs on the window to block out night and morning light.

The price I booked the room for I paid $100 higher than and the page that confirmed it just changed to check out time. Also I wanted to pay with my debit card but they already took payment off my credit card.

Beds were god awful. Was tempted to sleep on the floor or in my car. Luckily it was for one night. Got 3 hours sleep. Still paid a premium to stay there. Would not go back.

I liked the pool and water slide and the breakfast was pretty good too.

I found the rooms are very outdated and could use a modern touch. The sauna/ steam room wasn't working,.. the scramble eggs was not good. Tasted rubbery and it could use some flavoring.

Had requested a cot ahead of time. Had to ask after check-in as it was not in room. The complimentary breakfast was awful. Dried out eggs, rubber sausage. Had to ask where syrup was hidden. Warm,mushy muffins.

The only thing I wished for was a room with direct access to the swimming pool, like some of the other rooms. It wasn’t a big deal though—my kids still had a wonderful time. Next time, I’ll definitely request a poolside room!

The hotel staff was friendly accomodating. The breakfast was a good basic selection and the staff was very attentive, cleaning away dishes and being on top of the buffet line.

The hotel is value for money, it is an older property but maintained. We had an issue with the air-conditioning and service arrived within 5 minutes and we were provided a new room right away. Well Done.

The bed. I realllly needed a good night sleep and I think I got the worst bed in the hotel I could feel every spring and joint. Needless to say I did not sleep well

Once upon a time this was TGE place to stay in the gas city, I’m sure, but definitely needs some work. That was about the worst mattress I’ve ever slept on. And the dining room furniture is so gross, I almost didn’t want to sit down. Breakfast was ok. Clean enough? But definitely won’t stay here again.

Stayed here while traveling for a night. Hotel is certainly dated but room was updated and large and clean. Pool area was huge with 2 large slides. Could use some TLC but the kids really enjoyed it. Hotel offers a breakfast for guests (buffet) and the food was decent. Price was very reasonable. If you can get past the fact it is dated, this hotel is a good option for families with kids at a very reasonable price.

We’ve been staying at this resort for years and sadly it has not been maintained. It could use new mattresses to start and then renovate the rooms and hallways. The mattresses are so poor that I felt like I’d been in a car accident when I woke up. The pool facility has always been a big draw but it’s also showing its age. The hot tub has been closed for many years now. The free buffet breakfast is a nice touch but it’s not enough to make up for the run down facility.

The room was big and the bed was comfy enough but overall this hotel needs a big refurb. It’s very dated. The breakfast was also pretty mediocre. The AC doesn’t work and all the rooms seem to have portable ones with the hoses hanging out the window. The carpets were old, marked and damaged particularly in the halls. Room furniture was old and had some stains. The drain in the bathtub was damaged and dirty. I found a clump of hair in the “clean” towels which was pretty gross. There was ants in the bathroom and after showering on the last day a beetle came out from under the bathmat. There was also a power outage but thankfully it was resolved by the time I came back from dinner. The lights continued to flicker periodically after this. The power thing not being a huge issue as it was eventually turned back on but the man working the desk wasn’t very helpful at all when I went to what was going on. Pretty much just said “we have reported it” and didn’t seem to care or have any idea how long it was likely to be out. To be honest I would have switched hotels under normal circumstances but as I was on a work trip I decided to stay as it was only a couple of nights.

My kids loved the slides.

The waterslide area was super fun. The area was super tired though. Rooms are super tired too. I also was concerned with cleanliness when I saw a nail clipping on the floor.

bed was great. It was the first time in a long while that I had a great night sleep the first night at a hotel. Firm bed for the win!

No bacon for breakfast

Our room was comfortable and it was a treat to have everything there without having to drive anywhere. Things like a little store, choice of restaurants, and a casino. Really liked the 2 drink vouchers included in our room keys and the breakfast was a lvely surprise. First to be included with the room and secondly it was so deluxe. Spotlessly clean, good food, lots of variety, great service and real plates, cutlery etc. We travelled for about 10 days , most have a complimentary breakfast but nobody offers one of this quality.

It would be nice if guests could check in earlier. I completely understand that when rooms are full it takes awhile. I stay in some resorts that will allow us to check in a couple of hours earlier and they just let housekeeping know so they can clean the room type you have reserved. It is hard to predict exactly when you will arrive a a destination when you are travelling. Lots of variables such as construction or road work. When you have been driving for hours you just want to relax and not to have to wait.

Clean and all facilities are accessible without leaving the hotel.

We stay here everytime we go through Medicine Hat. It is our only go to hotel. The price, the breakfast, the casino, the parking, the gift shop, the staff, and the rooms, all fantastic! The pool amd waterslides are the icing on the cake, however, they should be cleaned really well or maybe even replaced with new ones. We love it here!

A very fun hotel, if you can swing it get a pool balcony or ground floor room. It is a lot of fun and while it's loud and busy during pool hours, they do a great job closing it down by 9:30 and everything is calm and quiet afterwards.

I have stayed here several times over the years, the hotel has fallen into a need for upgrade. I found dirt on the floor around the elevator which remained for a good day. The entrance was also in need of cleaning as you enter. The food was very good as well as the service. The hallway to the room had a smell of old carpet in need of an upgrade. I did enjoy my stay but would like to see the facility modernized.

It is dated, not well cared for and in desperate need of an update. The hallway stunk of I don’t know what and the room had the same smell lying underneath the smell of carpet deodorizer. Extremely disappointed. Was only staying to get some z’s. 7 hrs on property total. Will never return and will spread the word to not stay here.

Pool was great forkids

Carpets are filthy, chairs and benches in restaurants were torn and peeling. They need to start doing some renovations for general upkeep, .it has been neglected. Kitchen service was soooo slow. Took over an hour for me steak and kids pasta.

From 5 Stars to 0/10. Abysmal management, illegal charges, and stranded at 10 PM. Avoid at all costs. ​I am a returning guest who previously left this hotel a 5-star review. I am not biased, but after my recent experience, I am completely horrified by the absolute collapse in customer service, basic professionalism, and respect at this property. ​Part 1: Unauthorized Charges & Front Desk Giggles The nightmare started at 9:00 AM on our arrival day. I explicitly booked a "pay on arrival" rate, yet the hotel charged my credit card early without prior authorization. When I called to find out why, the front desk agent put me on hold for 20 minutes. I called back; he asked to hold again. When I explained I’d just waited 20 minutes, he giggled and immediately forced me back on hold for another 10 minutes. ​On my third call, I demanded to speak to the General Manager. The agent giggled again and deliberately transferred me to the Catering Manager instead. ​Part 2: The Catering Manager’s Attitude While trying to calmly explain the situation to the Catering Manager so she could pass a message to the right person, she interrupted me at least seven times in the most condescending tone imaginable, repeating, "I'm only the catering manager. What do you expect me to do?" All I expected was basic human courtesy to take my name and number. She ultimately guaranteed the appropriate manager would call me back within the hour. I never received a call. ​Part 3: The 10:00 PM Check-In Disaster (Meet ";Ryan;") We arrived at 10:00 PM to check into our two rooms, visibly in a great mood because we were on vacation. The front desk manager, Ryan, immediately met us with a bizarre, condescending attitude, seemingly annoyed by our presence. ​Both rooms were under my name. When Ryan asked the guest for the second room for her phone number, she didn't hear him clearly and asked for clarification. He repeated it aggressively. When she asked why it was needed, Ryan snapped, launched into an incredibly hostile lecture about how "by law" he requires a phone number, raising his voice and getting completely uppity for no reason. ​When I politely mentioned that our day had already started poorly with being left on hold for 30 minutes, Ryan’s defensive response was, "Well, we’ve been averaging 118 check-ins per day over the last two days, so that’s probably why." Imagine a front desk manager using high occupancy as an excuse to treat paying guests like garbage. ​Part 4: Stranded and Threatened When we naturally questioned the extreme hostility and asked what the problem was, Ryan completely lost control. He aggressively threw both of our driver's licenses back across the desk at us, shouted, "I'm going to go call the authorities!" and stormed into the back office. ​He didn't call the police. He just went to huddle with another manager, came back out, and refused us service, turning us away at 10:00 PM with nowhere to stay. ​To top off this masterclass in terrible hospitality, when he overheard us mention leaving a review about this treatment, Ryan snarkily shot back: "Oh don't worry, we can comment on those too." ​Go ahead and comment, Ryan. I'm sure whatever fairy tales you fabricate to cover up your staggering incompetence and power-tripping behavior will be highly entertaining. ​0/10. Unprofessional, hostile, and utterly disgraceful. Do not risk your hard-earned vacation money staying here.

Carpets are awful. Cot was not ready in the room, even though it was noted and paid in advance. Ask for toiletries second night, didn't get them. Leaks from the roof in the pool and lobby. Old musty smell in the halls. Pictures online didn't reflect the actual room. Concrete at water slide base is falling apart, probably needs to be scanned and inspected for structural integrity. The water in the pool stank. No hottub even though I believe online its advertised it has one. Needs renovations. Will not stay again.

Good location, reasonably priced food specials in restaurant

Rooms were dated and worn, no housekeeping in the 3 nights we were there except some fresh towels, loud music playing in waterpark kept me up all night, a/c didn’t work so room was stuffy and too warm.

The location for us was very convenient and the breakfast was nice.

It was a little loud and I wish the desk clerk was a bit more informative. We had to ask for everything, directions to our room, parking rules, access to the pool, where breakfast was to be served, etc.

The pool is nice when traveling with children but looked very outdated

Unfortunately, our stay was disappointing. The room was very dated and appeared poorly maintained. There were several signs of sloppy workmanship, including messy caulking in the bathroom, cracked walls, and a bathroom fan that didn’t work. The room had three different types of flooring, which made it feel pieced together rather than updated. Although the carpets were dark in color, they looked and felt like they hadn’t been properly cleaned in a long time. The bed was another letdown. It had a noticeable dip in the mattress from years of use, making it uncomfortable, and it was much too firm for a restful night’s sleep. Overall, the room felt neglected and in need of significant maintenance and renovation

Not cleaned room. It was gross. Housekeeper never say hi, but just watch my family. It was creepy. There was no uniform for housekeeper. So I was thinking they are thief at first time.

Room Needs a lot of improvements. Air conditioner blowing in my face all nice, window coverings didn’t even cover the windows and quilt was too hot for summer. This was not a typical experience at this hotel.

Friendly, courteous staff. This is my second time staying at this hotel. Both times were very pleasant.

The hotel was very nice in its day but is now showing its age. Many of the electrical outlets in our room wouldn't hold a wall plug and were therefore useless for charging smartphones, ipads, etc. Staff was good and the breakfast buffet was quite good!

We stayed in suite, room was large with a very large bathroom including standing double showerheads.

The staff were challenging to work with at the front desk. We phoned ahead to request that our room was close to our aging parents room. They confirmed on phone that it was. We also requested early check in, which was granted. When we arrived from the airport (flew in from Vancouver) no early check was permitted, rooms were in separate towers, front desk said they couldn’t do anything about it.

Security door to 2nd floor hallway did not close properly. Reported this three times to staff over a 2 day period. Nothing was done to address this issue and is the primary reason for the negative feedback.

Large spacious room. Very clean and quiet. Great breakfast included. Waterslides & pool were enjoyed by kids.

The beds and pillows were not comfortable. When we checked the pool/waterslide time online on our way to hotel, it said open until 10:00 pm. My son’s teammates drove from Calgary to meet us- excited to use the waterslides. They arrived at 9:30 and were told the waterslides/pool were closed! Very disappointed kids.

An older hotel that could use some updates, but for the money it is well worthwhile. The rooms are large and beds were good.👍 The continental breakfast is great, the staff there are excellent!

The hotel is aged with the fixtures and finishing but overall in really great shape. When checking in the gentlemen at the front desk was exceptional, upgraded our room for us from a deluxe king to a king suite. The interior layout and amenities at the hotel are unique and honestly a blast from the past, nostalgic in the sense that it brought me back to my younger years when hotles like this were more common-cool place. And as previously mentioned in great shape and we will definitely stay again when in town hopefully with more time to check out the casino and other amenities.

We had supper and breakfast at rhe hotel, the staff was great from a service perspective and the prime rib was delicious, the other sides and breakfast buffet could use some work.

Breakfast was excellent, good variety of food options, staff was amazing- they were constantly cleaning the tables, taking our empty plates.

This hotel needs renos. Carpets are dirty and old, the hallways are so smelly; you can’t keep things properly clean because everything is just old.

The location was good, amenities like the casino, lounge and texts informed us of which entertainment was available was nice.

I found it a little off putting that so many rooms face the pool (ours didn’t have any outside windows just the pool view), but so did the elevator- so every person entering the hotel can view your children swimming. The only way to get to the freezing. Cold pool is through the main lobby, next to the dinning. The bathrooms weren’t renovated. Fixtures were rusty, the walls and doors had visible stains or food on them. All the furniture was significantly dinged up, even the chairs in the restaurant all had leather peeling off. The room lacked accessible plug ins

We had an awesome May long-weekend stay! We knew it was going to either rain or snow and we were fortunate to be able to book a trip to Medicine Hat and enjoy this gem of a place. Of course many reviews state the property is dated, poorly maintained, etc. but we went anyway and it did not disappoint. Our kids loved the waterslide and although it was a long weekend, the place wasn't overrun by kids so the girls got to go on the slides as many times as they wanted for three days in a row! The buffet breakfast was delicious and plentiful and the staff was great! We enjoyed chatting with the hostess both mornings and also appreciated the fact that they have pet friendly rooms as we were able to bring our pups. We had dinner at R Kitchen one night and the prime rib special was exceptional! Great bang for your buck... Our server Davi was also super attentive. We were happy to hear from one of the staff that the property was under new ownership and that significant investment was being made to restore it to its glory days. We can't wait to visit again once the facelift is completed. We really enjoyed it here.

This place is huge. We had no issues with place- we had a first-floor room. The bed was comfortable; more pillows would be nice. We ate at the restaurant on-site for supper and breakfast. It was ok.

Check in staff did his utmost to give us what we wanted. Going out of his way to provide us with our needs. For breakfast the ladies were very friendly and made us feel very welcome.

Room was not clean, nail clippings next to bed, rusted and leaking fixtures, looked like someone puked on the bed, bathroom vent was not cleaned for a very long time. Sad to see this hotel gone so far down hill.
