if you're looking for same peace and quiet by the pool, forget it: it's noisy because it is right next to the motorway. the bathroom had a persistent unpleasant smell due to an inadequate ventilation system. it took five days to repair a towel rack.

The breakfast was great, with a wide variety of dishes, fresh fruits, and hot drinks.

The staff’s attitude was very disappointing. None of them were particularly nice or welcoming; they all seemed nervous and on edge. Most of our inquiries were met with unfriendly facial expressions and attitude, which was extremely annoying. Last night, when we were leaving the hotel, we asked for help with our luggage, and the response was simply, “I am alone here, I cannot help.” This was very disappointing and not the level of service you would expect from a hotel.

La posizione centralissima, la struttura, il comfort e la tranquillità che si respira in ogni angolo, la presenza di numerosi servizi tra i quali un bellissimo ristorante, una pizzeria, un bar, piscine esterne ed una palestra attrezzatissime, la cordialità e la gentilezza dello staff, il comfort e la spaziosità delle camere letto, la pulizia generale ed infine la colazione eccezionale, rendono l’Occidental Puerto Banús un Hotel fantastico!

Fik et værelse som var beregnet til handicappede, så ingen hylder på badeværelse, bruser sad så der var vådt ud over det hele når man gik i bad og værelset lå lige ud til hvor man sad og spiste morgenmad.

Personalet var meget imødekommende og smilende. Det ligger i gåafstand til Arana’en -hvilket var vigtigt for os, da vi skulle til koncert. Dejligt tæt på både strand, havn og div spisesteder

Ligger desværre ret tæt på en meget befærdet vej.. Grundet vejen var der meget støj ved poolområde samt balkon.

Rent, pænt, gode faciliteter. Skøn morgenbuffet med mange muligheder. Gode parkeringsforhold. Dejligt stort værelse med god justerbar aircon. God bruser. Rart og roligt. Sødt personale alle steder. Hjælpsomme.

Det lå lige ved A7 som larmede meget. Derfor var vi ikke ved poolen, da det larmede for meget. Dobbeltdyner er ikke til at holde ud, så vi bad om ekstra lagner.

Nice and roomy. Some of the staff were friendly but didnt go out of their way to help.

The telephone in the room wasnt working, I notified the reception desk, but still wasnt fixed by the time we left. Have stayed at better Barcelo, this one was mediocre at best.

Rating: 2/5 ⭐⭐ Disappointing service and mismanaged transport Our stay at Occidental Puerto Banús was ruined on our final day due to poorly managed airport transportation and unhelpful front-desk staff. * Room Cleanliness (3/5): Cleanliness was mediocre at best—acceptable enough for a short stay, but certainly not up to expected 4-star standards. * Mismanaged Airport Transfer: We arranged a transfer to Málaga Airport directly through the hotel front desk. Right before our departure, staff informed us the taxi company had canceled. Had they given adequate notice, we could have easily booked a reliable alternative via Booking.com or another service at standard rates. * Excessive Last-Minute Costs: Because of their late notice, we were forced into an emergency arrangement that cost significantly more than expected. * Zero Accountability at Checkout: When checking out, we brought up the issue and the financial impact caused by their misarranged service. Management flatly refused to offer any refund, compensation, or ownership of the mistake. A convenient location does not make up for average cleanliness and a complete lack of reliability and customer care when things go wrong. Would not recommend.

The toilet flush wasn’t very good but minor!

We really liked the hotel and kind staff such as housekeeping and breakfast area. Breakfast was good and perfect arena for us.

Reception staff was not very welcoming. Not smiling or greating guest. I have many years experience in hotel industry and do understand that it can be hectic. But reception is the front line and always have power to make guest experience better. during the stay as well. First people you meet and the last. Just starting with a smile would make the reception even better.

Il est cependant pres d'un voie rapide ce qui peut être génant pour ceux qui ont le sommeil léger La literie est très confortable, chambre spacieuse Le buffet du petit déjeuner est varié et de qualité Grande piscine agréable.

Le lit supplémentaire demandé pour notre chambre n'était pas prêt lors de notre arrivée, et la propreté de la chambre était douteuse, j'ai du faire intervenir le service de ménage avant de complètement défaire nos bagages. Je note cependant que pour le reste de notre séjour le nettoyage était bien fait. La chasse d'eau était très dure, impossible de tirer complètement la chasse d'eau. La moquette des couloirs est toute tachée La localisation près de la voie rapide gache un peu l'utilisation de la piscine à cause du bruit incessant des voitures Enfin, ce n'est pas dû à l'hotel en lui même, mais la clientèle de l'hotel n'était pas du tout respectueuse, par exemple fumer sur la terrasse du petit dejeuner alors qu'il y a des panneaux indiquant que c'est interdit! Nous avons séjourné dans un autre hotel de la branche "occidental" et l'accueil, ambiance était beaucoup plus chaleureuse. Il n'y avait par exemple pas de petites friandises dans la chambre, ni meme la possibilité de remplir sa gourde d'eau dans d'hotel. Bref, c'était correct, mais trop cher pour un service qui merite clairement d'être amélioré!

We arrived at the hotel after a very long and exhausting journey, made even more difficult by a significant flight delay. As this is advertised as a 5-star hotel, we expected a much more comfortable experience. Unfortunately, the carpets in the corridors looked dirty, and there was an unpleasant smell in both the hallways and our room. I am allergic to the smell of fish, and having to walk past the fish restaurant every time we entered the hotel made the experience even more uncomfortable. We requested a room change, and although the staff kindly accommodated our request, the new room was facing the main road. The constant noise from motorcycles and traffic continued throughout the night, making it impossible to get a good night’s sleep. To make matters worse, during the room change, my husband accidentally left behind his brand-new perfume, which had never even been opened, in our first room. When we asked about it the following day, we were simply told that it could not be found. This was extremely disappointing and raised serious concerns about how lost belongings are handled. In addition, I was surprised that the room did not provide bathrobes or slippers, which are basic amenities I would normally expect from a 5-star hotel. My husband and I are no longer young, and after such a tiring journey, all we needed was a quiet and restful night. Sadly, our first night at the hotel was extremely disappointing, and we were unable to relax or sleep. I hope the hotel will take these comments seriously and make improvements, as the current experience does not reflect the standards expected of a 5-star property.

This hotel was almost perfect. Yes the noise from the A7 is constant but it really made no difference to our enjoyment or sleep! We originally booked as it was close to Marbella arena were we had tickets to see UB40 Google maps was wrong when it said it would rake 40 minutes to walk, as it’s really close and only a 10 minute walk under a tunnel. Breakfast was varied and plentiful. The room was massive with two double beds snd a walk in shower there was a safe, fridge and kettle. Only problem was that there was no late check out availably. Well done to everyone at the Occidental hotel

All was great

Stayed in this hotel for a golfing trip with friends. The hotel sits very close to all amenities needed and surrounded by a lot of golf courses. The hotel is very clean and tidy and would definitely recommend or stay at again in the future.

Frühstück vielseitig, schön angerichtet, sauber. Wenn mal was verschüttet wurde, war sofort jemand da, hat aufgeräumt und geputzt. Früchte etwas unreif, könnte an der Jahreszeit liegen.. (Juni) Omelette-Stand war 1x für längere Zeit nicht besetzt. Kann mal vorkommen ist nicht tragisch... (Mussten zweimal nachfragen, aber jemand hat dann schon reagiert.. )

Wenn ich jetzt Etwas nennen müsste, dann vlt, dass an den ersten beiden Tagen Kleenex-Tücher, Mundwasser, Zahnbürste ec. im Zimmer gefehlt haben (wurde vergessen). Finde das aber nicht weiter schlimm.. Wenn ich es gemeldet hätte, wäre das sicherlich umgehend nachgeholt worden. Man hat in der Regel eh all das in seinen persönlichen Sachen dabei.

The only thing that let our stay down was the breakfast, wasn’t fresh, poor choice. A suggestion would be to offer better quality & fresher.

Pool didn’t open until 11am 🤷‍♂️ English Breakfast cold every morning I stopped there. A older gentleman with a beard at the pool bar serving food & drinks is very rude & miserable.

Nice hotel & great location, sadly let down by an entire week of sleepless nights. The room we were allocated was adjacent to the reception and lobby bar, unfortunately the hotel were unable to move us so we had to endure a whole week of disturbed nights. We're no party poopers & appreciate the younger crowd are there to enjoy themselves, but the hotel did nothing to curb the noise levels. A token bottle of cheap cava left in our room was not the remedy we'd hoped for when voicing our concerns.
