The hotel was very close to the airport , and very cheap But the only reason I write this review is to thank mona Lisa for the way she sorted my issues out on arrival. She was efficient and nothing was too much trouble for her . She organised everything for me to change money and visit the beach . And kept in touch that everything was ok during my stay including helping me with the Indonesian menu . I have travelled around the world and never came across anybody any better than Mona Lisa you should keep her she’s the best

Not having money changing facilities

Das Personal war sehr bemüht und höflich, konnte aber die unzumutbare Gesamtsituation nicht ändern.

Das Hotel ist in einem sehr schlechten Zustand, insbesondere die Außenanlage und Poollandschaft ist so marode und kaputt und ungepflegt, dass es gefährlich ist diese nicht abzusperren. Holzlatten sind alle beschädigt und durchgebrochen, teilweise fehlend - es besteht Einbruch- und Verletzungsgefahr. Der größere Pool ist veralgt und verdreckt und das Wasser wird auch nicht gefiltert. In den Fluren stinkt es extrem nach Schimmel. Die Zimmer sind aber nutzbar und in besserem Zustand. Die beworbenen Angebote im Restaurant (Cocktails und Longdrinks) sind nicht verfügbar, anscheinend wegen nicht vorhandenem Alkohol, stattdessen kann man dann aber flaschenweise Alkohol erwerben, der übertrieben teuer ist. Die Bilder der Hotelanlage, die man auf der Website einsehen kann, sind teilweise sehr stark bearbeitet. Leider ist das Management sehr unflexibel und konnte uns vor Ort nicht helfen.

The breakfast was incredible and so was our vegetarian dinner. The staff are amazing, so friendly and helpful. Pick up and drop off to the airport was super easy. Just ONE HUGE ISSUE that needs URGENT attention. The dampness and mold issues in the passages and dining area. Notably the walls, ceilings and carpets. Our room was not too bad. This is a HUGE issue that needs to be fixed...not just covered with paint and new trims. I think the air conditioning was not properly insulated during installation and has been dripping water for ages, causing dampness and mold issues. This is a HEALTH RISK and needs your URGENT attention. This could be an amazing Hotel, if you can fix this huge problem.

We stayed in Four Points Sheraton Balikpapan after some days in the rainforest and on the Mahakam river. Really nice to have some luxury again! And what a pleasant place this was. Staff was super nice. Manager Wayan and his staff went out of their way to make our stay as nice as possible. Very attentive! Special for is that they noticed our daughter had her birthday few days before our stay and they brought her a cake with candle at breakfast, plus more than 10 of staff members were singing happy birthday. Memorable experience as much appreciated! The Spa is very recommendable. The pool has great potential but needs some work on the deck and could use more chairs / beach loungers for the atmosphere. So if that would be fixed, the total experience is 10 out of 10.

Overall i think this is one of the best hotel in Balikpapan. Staff are so welcoming and always give great treatment for their guests. Staff, food, room always awesome.

My only negative experience with the property was that the dining room was too hot and too loud. I would have enjoyed a place to have breakfast that was separate from children running around and screaming, and with better circulation if not strong air conditioning.

I booked a room for 3 people on Booking.com, when I booked it said Half board and 90 minute massage. When I called to confirm before arrival, the hotel said that they cannot give half board for 3 people and only for 2 people and 90 minute massage is not included. They asked me to cancel if I am not happy with it as they said it was wrongly written on Booking.com. Same was told to me by Booking.com cutomer service. So I have to cancel.

Overall, the service was quite satisfactory. The FO team handled Check In nicely and assisted me in preparing an early breakfast on June 14, 2026 because my flight was really early, however I'm sorry because I forget his name. The breakfast on June 13, 2026 was of decent quality, but it was not properly refilled. Several buffet menus were empty. Then the condiments were placed fairly far away. Buffer food was on the right, while condiments such sambal were placed on a station between the fruit and snack chillers and the omelette station (far left).

Staying at Four Points for business purposes is certainly my best decision, as a member of marriot bonvoy they provided best service such as airport shuttle and late checkout due to friday pray. Will definitely stay at four points again Thanks

Dear Monalisa, Thank you for your message. I would like to share my feedback regarding my recent stay at Four Points by Sheraton Balikpapan. First of all, I would like to mention that I have been choosing Four Points hotels during my travels since 2019. Over the years, I have always appreciated the brand and the level of hospitality it represents, which is why I feel it is important to provide honest feedback. The room itself was pleasant, clean, and well maintained. The bed was very comfortable, and I was satisfied with the accommodation overall. Unfortunately, the breakfast experience was a complete disappointment. There was no yogurt available, the food quality was very poor, the pastry selection was almost nonexistent, and what was available was simply not enjoyable. The pain au chocolat tasted old and seemed as if it had been frozen for a long time. The overall quality of the breakfast offering was far below what I would expect from a Marriott property. The restaurant itself is also in a very poor state. The ceiling shows visible signs of mold, many tables are damaged along the edges, and several chairs appeared dirty. The entire dining area feels neglected and in need of serious renovation and attention. I also could not understand why the curtains remained closed throughout breakfast service. Having breakfast with natural sunlight is one of the most enjoyable moments of the day, and keeping the restaurant dark creates a rather unwelcoming atmosphere. In addition, I would like to mention the children's playground located inside the restaurant. In my opinion, it is completely out of place. During breakfast, the constant noise, shouting, and running of children significantly affected the atmosphere and made it difficult to enjoy what should be a relaxing start to the day. I am sorry to say this, but if I return to Balikpapan in the future, I will have to seriously reconsider staying at your property again. The condition of the breakfast operation and restaurant falls far below the standards I would expect from a Four Points by Sheraton hotel and certainly below the standards I have experienced at other Four Points properties since 2019. I hope this feedback is received in the constructive spirit in which it is intended and that meaningful improvements can be made for future guests. Kind regards

I recently stayed at FP Hotel Balikpapan and had quite a mixed first impression—but it turned into a genuinely memorable experience. The location is not the most strategic, even though it is relatively close to the airport. The building itself is also integrated with an apartment complex, which makes the overall appearance less appealing compared to a typical standalone hotel. I also experienced an issue with my room, as it felt quite humid. However, what truly surprised me was how the hotel handled it—they immediately upgraded me to a Suite room, which was absolutely excellent and very comfortable. That really turned things around for me. Breakfast was adequate, with a modest selection but good quality overall. Nothing overly fancy, but well-prepared and satisfying. The highlight for me was definitely the coffee—it was really enjoyable. What truly sets this hotel apart is the hospitality. Credit to the entire team—from the concierge, front desk, duty manager, housekeeping, to the F&B team. They were genuinely warm, attentive, and responsive. It’s rare to experience this level of consistency across all departments. Truly special. In the end, while the hotel may not be perfect in every aspect, the outstanding service more than makes up for it. I left feeling very satisfied and well taken care of.

I loved the service. The room was adequate.

There was confusion about my meals. I was told breakfast was included at the reception and when I went to have breakfast I was told it was not included and I could be given a discount. So, I only ate breakfast once there due to the fact that I was told it wasn’t included. However when I went to pay at the end of my stay I was told that my breakfast was free and that I had already paid for everything. So, that was confusing and I ended up skipping breakfasts that I may have already paid for, because The Eatery attendant told me that it was not included and I could get a discount for being a guest. One other thing, I would appreciate it if there were massage showers if possible instead of the one rain fall shower. It’s hard to get cleaned everywhere with the rainfall type of shower. But that would be a great improvement for the future. So, I would like to just know if I did pay to have my breakfasts included or not from the beginning and not be given mixed messages about it that would make me feel uncomfortable to continue to eat there, because I really don’t know what is going on?

I chose this hotel because it is close to the airport. From the moment we checked in, the front desk staff welcomed us very warmly with friendly smiles, making us feel comfortable as if we were at home. The hotel is clean, and every corridor smells pleasant, creating a romantic atmosphere. My room was very clean and well equipped with various amenities. The breakfast was also delicious. On the first day, I found a sambal paru that I really liked, and I was looking forward to having it again at the next breakfast, but unfortunately the menu had already changed 😭 It made me want to stay longer at this hotel, and I will definitely come back again on my next vacation 💓

First impression on checking in set the standard of excellence. Warm , friendly and efficient. Lots of storage space, in room safe and a great rain shower bathroom with all your showering needs provided. The pool area was large and quiet but clean and tidy . Recommend highly the breakfast . Rooms are nice but the road leading to the hotel is narrow and dark. Hotel is quite isolated with no shops nearby. Staff are very friendly and helpful. No money changer in hotel or nearby. Wish they had larger choice of western food.

Water from sink, shower, and toilet is dirty brown as pictured. Corridor smells bad, and service is just alright. Unacceptable for a renowned international hotel chain to not even have clean water. Will not stay again.

PROS: +Their hospitality is above everything! The staff are very helpful and are always ready to assist. +The bedding set is perfectly comfortable. +They're so generous about the food and and all of them are deliciously tasty. The coffe tiam was exceptional! +I have to say this place is such a kids-friendly hotel that makes my children weren't willing to go home. +Kids activities are available on saturday and sunday. +BBQ dinner was amazing! (except a lil part of seafood they need to make sure it's always fresh). +Swimming pool is quite vast. +Hairdryer and iron+ironing board are available. +Private parking lot which directly links to the hotel lobby. CONS: -Maybe it's time to change the rugs to the newer ones -House keeping staff need to double check about the cleanliness of the rug. I found much dust were still clinging to it especially at the corner of the room.

Where to start? EVERYTHING IS FANTASTIC from the staff to the service.. breakfast was excellent, the receptionist who recommended me the breakfast didn't disappoint me at all.. the rooms are the most comfy rooms that I ever stayed at.. all and all I had a wonderful stay even it's just one night.. Out of the many hotels I’ve tried in Balikpapan for a family staycation, this one truly stands out in terms of value for money. While the price may look slightly higher compared to others on some platforms, I was lucky to get a city-view room for under 1 million rupiah—and it was absolutely worth it. The room was spacious and comfortable, perfect for staying with children. Breakfast was quite complete with plenty of options, and one of our favorite experiences was the BBQ dinner, which added a nice touch to our stay. The swimming pool was wide and enjoyable, especially for families—though adding a few more lounge chairs would make it even better. The bathroom itself was roomy, although the door design slightly limited movement when opening and closing it. That aside, our overall experience was very satisfying. From the facilities to the comfort, everything felt well worth the price, and we truly enjoyed our stay here.

Great location. Superb hotel, clean, great and awesome staff from top to bottom, from door man, receptionist, engineering, chef and managers. Atmosphere so cozy when you enter the lobby Rooms were always clean. Cold aircond. (Awesone when you stay in tropic region). The room noise level so quite. Amenities are OK. Value wise ok. Not too high up. You pay what you get.

I always stay the Four Points in Balikpapan, perfectly situated next to airport, rooms always clean & I always sleep well on the most comfortable bed. Food choice is good & staff very helpful & always friendly. Highly recommended.

Just arrived at Four Points by Sheraton Balikpapan and feeling warmly welcomed by the outstanding hospitality! Even with a crowded lobby, the lady in red, the lobby ambassador, had everything ready, so check-in was seamless. I was surprised with a lovely upgrade to a Deluxe Premium room, along with a heartfelt welcome letter, towel art, and a fresh fruit platter from the hotel manager. Truly grateful for this thoughtful and impeccable service!

La prima stanza che ci hanno dato puzzava di umidità, la seconda affacciava sul parcheggio ed era molto rumorosa per via dei motorini parcheggiati sotto la finestra.

The hotel's location is perfect, right across from the airport. The free evening pickup service from the airport was a good service that made our arrival easy and stress-free. The room is spacious and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was a major highlight. The variety was outstanding, with a huge selection of hot and cold dishes, including many meat and vegetable options. There were also fresh fruit juices and a great dessert bar. The breakfast was excellent value for money, and I highly recommend adding this option to your stay.

We wanted the free shuttle to the airport. Two days before, the staff said it would be available. The day before, they said the first shuttle was at 7 a.m. Our flight was at 7 a.m. We needed to be at the airport at 5 a.m. The staff then booked us three Bluebird taxis for 4:30 a.m. The drivers did not use the meters. The fare was 24,000 to 28,000 Rupiah per taxi. It was an unexpected cost.

If I get the chance, I’d definitely stay here again! I stayed in the Deluxe Premium Pool View room—so good! The room was spacious, and the service from all the staff was amazing. But the real highlight? The breakfast—super complete and seriously delicious. Very kid-friendly too, with a big pool and a playground. Totally worth it. Out of all my stays in Balikpapan, this has been my best experience by far. Thank you, Four Points!

My first time checked in the Four Points Hotel. I impressed by the crew services, various breakfast, and the room cleanliness. As you know Four Points is part of Marriott Group and Four Points Balikpapan has maintained the standard very well. I forgot to pack my laundry and left behind in the room when I checked out. Few hours later, I’ve been contacted by Mr Rendy and Mr Arif from the concierge. They helped to deliver the clothes to my house. Very professional and fast response.

My wife and I stayed here on two occasions. The hotel is modern. The room was very comfortable. The food we ate was fantastic. The staff were professional, pleasant and very welcoming. We booked the hotel transfer from the airport. We had a comfortable mini bus with complimentary water. The driver insisted on carrying our bags from the arrivals hall to the hotel reception and then onward to our room. He couldn’t do enough to help. An excellent hotel close to the airport. I would definitely stay there again.

It was my first time to stay over night for two nights in the Premium room of Four Points by Sheraton Balikpapan. Very interesting place which is impressive interior and facility available in the hotel, such as : Near to the airport, quite or not noisy location, large space, clean room, comfortable bed, good shower with hot & cold water supply, large restaurant completed with various type of National and western food included snacks (many choices to eat) served by friendly staff. Gym has sufficient equipment to do exercises, check in on arrival and check out well managed.

I had a great experience at this hotel! My room was very clean, with a modern design, huge, comfortable bed, lovely sitting area by a floor-to-ceiling picture window, and large desk space. The breakfast buffet was delicious, with many Asian and Western options. I also enjoyed a massage at the hotel spa during my stay—one of the best massage experiences I’ve ever had! The hotel staff were amazing—so kind and always ready to help. They brought me extra drinking water each day for no extra charge. Highly recommend!

Good place for a quick Overnight stay close to the airport. Very helpfull staff who helped me deal with contacting an airline to resolve travel issues. Reasturant was ok, but not great. Was comfy and quiet enough.

A bit dated, and our taxi for an early departure didnt end up getting booked. the front desk person did a great job sorting it for us.

Booked 2 standard rooms for 1 night on June 2025. Cozy room and my family was so happy because the room was upgraded by front office team. Overall it was awesome experience and thank you for the excellent service from the staff especially Ibu Inka, Bapak Sani, Ms. Fitria and Ms. Gaby.

The room was incredibly comfortable, clean, cozy, and well-maintained. The ambience throughout the hotel was also very pleasant. Now, let’s talk food. Honestly, the variety is insane. I mean, they don’t just offer a few choices—they have stations for everything: - A Kopi Tiam corner (which I love), - Minuman kemasan station, - Coffee machine for proper brewed coffee, - A juice station, - Snacks for kids, and… Drum roll for extra effect, yak congrats for all for parents they have a playground area in the restaurant itself! If you’re traveling with children, this is a game changer. The restaurant is very spacious and lively, yet well-organized so it doesn't feel chaotic even during busy breakfast hours.

I always choose to stay at Four Points by Sheraton Balikpapan whenever I visit the city, and this time was no exception—even though it was just a short, one-night visit.
