The staff went above and beyond for my sisters wedding. Vicki and her daughter were incredibly supportive throughout the wedding day. The hotel public spaces, rooms and beds were excellent
Competitively priced
Some staff were hostile
The hotel and pool.
Service and availability at the bar in the morning. It felt like the Indian lady that was serving was upset to do her job.

Oh my Goodness, we absolutely loved everything about this hotel... If I could give it the highest rating, I absolutely would! :)) The atmosphere was just brilliant, the staff were exceptional, especially Sarah and Marcia on the front desk, and Dan at the swimming pool... The rooms were so comfy and clean, the bathroom we had included a bath and a shower, which were just incredibly clean and convenient... The gym/sauna /jacuzzi and heated swimming pool were amazing, clean, just perfect, inc the changing rooms... The staff were immensely polite, kind and friendly, and would just go the extra mile each day... The breakfast, bar and restaurant were just perfectly organised and timed... And the 12 o'clock check out is just dreamy... Car park was free and so spacious... Literally one of the best places we've ever stayed, would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a super comfortable and luxury treat, in a quiet and safe environment :)))

The room had everything we needed, the rwin beds were very comfortable, the staff were very helpful, the breakfast was fresh and abundant and the hotel conveniently situated just off the M5 and just 10/15mn away from Taunton town centre, with a bus stop just down the road and a £1 bus fare.

Pleasant ground floor space Place looked clean and well maintained

Bathroom could be cleaner. Hair from previous occupants was obvious.
Could not fault the staff treated us with respect and provided anything we asked for especially in the restaurant
It was all satisfactory
Kind and helpful staff. Thanks to Sara and Marcia.
Lovely friendly staff. Nice bar area and restaurant.
Nothing really
Staff were excellent - very friendly and willing to help in any way. Hotel was good quality, clean and above expectations. Meet our needs very well. Booked a family type room and was please with the fold out sofa bed and overall room facilities - pool, gym and except and treated pet very well. Very much recommended.
Great welcome, good service
Air con not working, room had no fridge
Location was good for a stop over
Beds uncomfortable especially sofa bed really small .
The beds were super comfortable, quiet at night and the breakfast was good, with a good selection.
Would have been good to have had weetabix for breakfast as it is listed but wasn't available, although there was plenty of other options, just personally I am unable to eat cooked or other options. Mini Fridge in room would be appreciated as well as early entry even at an additional cost. Games room, or just snooker table in the area which has the stairs would be good, has tables to sit at but plenty of room for a pool table as well. Toilet wouldn't stop flushing during the day and late at night, staff were helpful and came and showed us that we just needed to press thump the flush really hard, which did work, but we didn't want to do this at night so as not to disturb others so left flushing the toilet until the morning which wasn't ideal. Apparently this often happens, but if that is the case then it would be better to get it repaired properly. Didn't affect our lovely stay in all other ways though.
The hotel had a nice, modern atmosphere. We liked the facilities and the parking was very convenient.
Unfortunately, the staff seemed quite disorganised. Our check-out date had been entered incorrectly at reception as one day earlier, so when we returned to the hotel our room cards no longer worked and we had to go back to reception to sort it out, even though we were very tired. Housekeeping was also quite messy — some of our clothes and belongings had been moved and left on the floor. The breakfast was quite basic, repetitive and didn’t have much variety. We also found the beds uncomfortable. Overall, considering the price we paid, we didn’t feel the stay was good value for money.
All very good
Pillows a bit hard
Children liked the pool, with booked time for families and nice, warm water. Gym facilities available. Very easy to get to from motorway.
Dinner at hotel was problematic - staff seemingly forgot our order as others coming in long after us were served well before us. The staff then acknowledged this, but then brought meat dish that wasn't cooked fully through. At least the staff were conscientious enough to take the cost of the dish off our bill.
The accessable room itself was huge .
No wet room when I specifically, emailed to make sure that they had one, (no one replied). The bed was tiny!! too small for two people , my disabled husband nearly fell out of bed on a number of occasions in one night that we were there. Also the bed was too low. No curtains on the window in the bath room.
Swimming pool fantastic Great shower in nice room Staff great Hotel clean

The dinner, bed and breakfast was a good deal for the family
Nothing
It was very clean and staff were helpful
The sofa bed wasn’t comfortable and had the noise from the motorway all night. Hence no sleep
We love the air con rooms and the big beds , the breakfast is just amazing and the staff couldn't be more kind and friendly
Would of liked to have checked in abit earlier
Clean, convenient location and really lovely staff! Beds were comfortable and air con in the rooms was a bonus!
No bottled water in the rooms
We did a one night stop enroute down to South Devon. Our family room was a bit tired and probably in line for a refurbishment soon, but overall it was a great value stay and with very friendly staff. Evening meal and breakfast was fine. We would do this again.
Family room was comfortable but in need of a refurb
Breakfast was good plenty of choice, being elderly on one side of bed was very narrow making it a bit awkward.
Staff were helpful and it was a convenient location
Room wasn't very clean with cobwebs hanging from ceiling. Sheets had marks on them. Large rip in duvet cover
The rooms were clean & comfortable. The staff were very helpful
The fan in the bathroom was broken which meant the steam made use of the mirror difficult
location and service very polite and professional
Staff went above and beyond! After having issues with our room. breakfast was lovely and location was perfect and very quiet. Great for an over night stop with the family.
Unfortunately when we arrived our room was unclean and electric didn’t work but staff moved us right away and the second room was clean and comfy. However the phone charger plug didn’t work.
Clean, large bedrooms. Staff were helpful and friendly - everywhere but very much in the restaurant. Very family oriented .
Nothing
The staff were amazing, so friendly and could not have been more helpful. The facilities were great, the little play area for children was a great addition along with the tokens the children got on arrival. I travelled with 3 children on my own and these little extras for the kids made my stay a little easier. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again.
Excellent location for holiday travel
Busy
Facilities really good got to use the pool next door too, very family originated kids play area and colouring station, variety of alternative food for breakfast, staff lovely will define book again
Alla hall la signora era molto gentile Piscina carina
Letti non comodi e divano letto ancora più scomodo
Bar open in the evening
Bed too small
Great value for money
convenient, clean, good food and pool.
Only 30 mins for families in pool
The buffet breakfast was of a good quality, and there was a good selection. The room and property was clean, and the bed comfortable. Plenty of parking, but I also have a 'blue badge'.
At breakfast, although I have mobility issues, no members of staff came to assist me (too busy speaking among themselves). But breakfast overall was good. I was on a 'half board' package, and the dinner menu for half board was very short, with a poor selections of dishes (no fish option for the main course, for example). Basically it was poor value. Drinks were expensive and not of a great quality. Service was poor, especially on 31st July, simply because there were too few staff. It was very apparent that service was poor in that we were given 'free' drinks etc. The building/rooms were clean, but very basic, and the whole premises needed a good make over. House keeping was adequate, but not much pride was taken in their jobs.
Breakfast was a buffet, and of a good quality with plenty of selection. Some staff members were very helpful, but sadly others not so. Rooms were clean, but basic. Swimming pool was good, and not too busy.
We booked 'half board', and selection of food at dinner for adults was poor. Selection of food was poor and no fish options were offered for the main course. Children were meant to eat for free, but if the child was over about 6, and needed a reasonable sized portion, a surcharge was charged - basically a dishonest practice! Drinks were expensive. On 31st July the restaurant was busy, and there were too few staff on duty, and service was slow. Staff were brought in from reception to assist, who didn't want to do the job! We were given things free of charge to compensate, but it was not good. The property/accommodation, while clean, was 'tired' and basic, with various marks etc. Hence, it was not good value.

No pool for kids
Great location, friendly staff, clean, nice food.
The sofa bed was really uncomfortable. Very thin mattress.
Lots of clean towels, friendly and helpful staff. Pool was a lovely bonus.
No extractor in bathroom? Would have been lovely to have a bar fridge in the room.
Air conditioning, walk in shower and helpful friendly staff.
All good
Near M5. Nice breakfast. Incredibly nice lady on reception Friday 17th evening.
Nothing
Clean room, breakfast choice. Dog friendly
Sink didn't drain, room service call not answered, pie not fully described on menu and had to change order. No naan with meal. When checking out staff on phone and didn't speak to us as we would have mentioned issues
It was a very good hotel for an overnight stay. Good menu, food all day. Comfortable bed. Good air conditioning. Swimming pool available.

Very welcoming. Clearly lots of people felt at home relaxing here. Staff excellent
Nothing.
The pool jacuzzi and sauna. The food is good and fairly priced and the staff are very friendly and professional
There is nothing to dislike
Very clean and tidy, nice cool room. Staff were lovely, my son really enjoyed his complimentary milk and cookies from the bar. Swimming pool was great, changing facilities spotless and pool nice and warm. You need to prebook swimming if taking a child. Breakfast was nice, if a little over cooked / dry.
Nothing.
Friendly staff Good location Air conditioning with the heat

Everything. Food. Room. Staff. Location. All good. Staff were super. Swimming pool
Room could do with a refurbishment.
Nice clean room with comfortable bed
Dinner and breakfast quality could do with improving
The kitchen has a power cut but the hotel gave us free drinks as an apology plus made sure that they were a me to still cook what they could with gas to make sure we had a meal

I have family in Bridgwater. Close to them, staff always polite and helpful room clean. Access 24/ 7 always feel safe travelling alone.
Location was good for an overnight stay, travelling to Cornwall
Hard pillows, was a bit rushed eating food
Excellent value for money. Wide variety of food for breakfast to suit everyone. The room was a nice size, bed very comfortable and room clean. The staff were all very friendly and professional.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. The fitness centre is a major plus and electric vehicle chargers close by. Harvester and a some shops nearby that were very handy , Location from motorway equally so .
The drinks at the bar were extremely expensive . The bed was not the most comfortable.
room very small and not very clean
Location and breakfast
Very comfortable, quiet and clean room.Thank you.
I tend not to like the food but understand that others find it ok.
Family friendly and access to swimming pool
The food is the restaurant was ok but not brilliant

Nice location Had a swimming pool and gym Comfortable bed and decent pillows Nice choice for breakfast
The bar was way too expensive. One round of a double pink gin and lemonade and a pint of lager cost almost £18. As a result of it being so expensive we only had the one drink. Everyone also left after one drink and commented on the outrageous prices
The room was great, very comfortable.
My food, it wasn't great, had the gammon chop, could have been cooked a little more, the egg was over cooked and not runny, chips and peas ok, not good value when your really hungry and get a bad meal; I was just to tired to complain to be honest, always when I left this morning the receptionist was more interested that I didn't owe anything, never even asked if I enjoyed my stay, I normally stay at the express, you could improve in area I mentioned.
Breakfast was very good
The bed wasn't very comfortable. Maybe a firmer mattress would have helped.
Good location
The room was cold - and even though reported issue no one came to solve the problem !
Lovely staff, great big bedroom, very quiet and a great breakfast

Staff rude
Everything! An all round very good hotel. Staff, presentation, cleanliness, all ages very well catered for. Welcome at reception, made lovely gesture to my children, (green token) to all the staff in the bar area. A credit to hospitality industry. Noticing I was a Dad on his own witb two young children, making a big difference to my stay. So refreshing to see that this level of engagement, enthusiasm and passion is still there. Big well done to the Holiday Inn, trying hard to not just be run of the mill. Excellent!!
Clean, comfortable, great shower, great continental breakfast
A little tired, maybe
Swimming pool gym food the list goes on everything amazing
Location and quiet room.
Dated room with a small bed. Unable to improve room temperature with heating controls

What guests love
Areas to consider
Cleanliness
8.6/10Rooms repeatedly described as clean with plenty of towels, though the property is ‘tired’ with marks and one mention of dust/mite concerns.
Service
7.6/10Mixed reports — many mentions of friendly, helpful staff but several accounts of slow or inattentive service (understaffed evenings, reception pulled away, checkout phone not answered).
Location
8.8/10Multiple positive comments: convenient for the M5 and generally described as a great/location and handy for travel.
Room Quality
7.7/10Rooms described as basic and ‘tired’ needing refurbishment; some guests found beds comfortable while others reported small beds or very thin/uncomfortable sofa beds.
Amenities
8.7/10Good-sized pool, air conditioning, bar open in evenings and dog-friendly noted; some minor missing items (no extractor, no bar fridge) and limited family pool time.
Value for Money
7.4/10Mixed: a few guests praised value, but several felt half-board was poor value (limited dinner choices, expensive drinks) and overall not great value for some.
Food and Beverage
7.9/10Breakfast widely praised as a good buffet with selection; dinner (half-board) repeatedly criticized for short menus, poor selection and lack of fish options, plus slow service at busy times.
Overall Experience
8.9/10Many guests enjoyed their stay, would recommend or return — overall positive stay for a stopover — but aging facilities and food/service issues temper the experience.
