Location great,easy to find,plenty of party,quiet location,near shops in retail park and petrol station. Helpful housekeeping and nice grounds.

Very dated and dirty grouting in bathroom,bed was very uncomfortable,poor quality bin,filthy shower curtain,dirty carpets, the worst I've ever seen in a hotel! Reception staff non plussed and not welcoming!

Really run down ,Dirty ,heaps of fies on the stairs ,Im assuming from the stench of the surrounding area outside ,desperate upgrade needed ,glasses piling up on the bar ,mould in the bathroom and red stain on the carpet in the room .

Pool and changing room very dated. Rusty broken lockers. Mercure used to be a lot nicer. Breakfast bit basic for £14 - muffins and pancakes/waffles would be nice. Ran out of bloomer bread. Room dated and worst part was the shower pressure- basically a dribble.

In need of a refurbishment

The hotel was clean and well appointed. We were advised when we arrived that there were 2 wedding celebrations taking place with the usual noise and disruption bit the layout of the hotel and diligence of the staff meant that we were not inconvenienced at all.

I had asked for an electric plug point for my cpap machine. they confirmed that there would be one for me and they would ensure that I had an electric extension lead left in the room. This was not done and I had to buy one locally. The food in the hotel was a very poor standard and the menu was limited!! It was akin to a small fast food cafe!! We only ate one evening and we went out on our second evening. My room was a privilage room, however the decor was tatty eg. there were obvious coffee stains on the wall beside the bed, art work was torn and coming out of frame. The hotel certainly did not rate as a four star

Shower. I’m only 5ft 2, so struggled with the shower head being so high.

The whole property is VERY dated and in need of updating / redecoration. Soiled pillow case when I checked the bed, grubby carpets, faded paintwork and more. The gym equipment was also very old and some was rusty

Booked restaurant well in advance but when my wife and I turned up, on time, there were no tables available!

One of the rooms that l got had a very strong smell and unfortunately l couldn't get a different room because it was fully booked.

Handy location just off main travel route. Staff friendly and helpful. Catered and cared about my wife’s gluten intolerance. Excellent breakfast.

It’s looking a bit dated needing decorated. The glass walk way to our bed room is letting in rain there was puddles everywhere

The Pool and breakfast are always good.

Very dirty room. Stains all over the carpet and walls. Rubbish underneath sofa bed. Very loud sound of running water all night. Contacted reception about this at around 11pm. Initially offered to move rooms but was then informed they didn’t have any to accommodate us. No apology or offer of reimbursement from reception in the morning after terrible nights sleep even though it had been logged that an issue had been found the night before and that maintenance was called to look.

Spacious, comfortable, easy parking, good value for money. Very good, courteous and friendly, helpful staff.

No electric socket by the bed for necessary overnight apparatus. Fittings in the room were far too 'minimalist', ie: no proper wardrobe space, only some tiny added 'unit' with hardly any space to hang things, as it was already half full of extra towel and hairdryer and laundry admin. No cupboards or any drawers for clothing. Table/desk surfaces were so small, and horribly cluttered with hotel paperwork/advertising. Room wasn't serviced one day - mentioned to reception staff on check-out who handled it well.

Very nice hotel, staff were very friendly. Clean and spacious rooms, the odd bit in the room that needs a refresh/touch up but nothing dirty. It was busy but quiet and relaxing. Lots of parking, EV charging would have been a great addition, will stay again when visiting family.

Unclean room, not given what I originally paid for. Offered a refund for the second night or to stay in a room without 2 beds, or a room they were trying to class as a family room but was again unclean and like a jail cell. Management was rude and they were my options given. I had to go home as he wouldn’t even just provide me with the booking I asked for. Loads of rooms free too.

Staff were all excellent. It was a very busy weekend with 2 weddings plus normal guests. Staff are stretched but coped well. Breakfast was excellent - plenty of choice. Much larger hotel than expected and the grounds were lovely. Plenty of parking. Great location for getting to the coast for day trips.

Hotel overall would benefit from a refurb. Esp the bathrooms. We were in a privilege room and the bathroom had some black mould on the tiles, scuffs to the bath panel and a white toilet seat on a pinky coloured toilet! Sink was very low with separate taps (not mixers which are safer). No extractor and only a fixed head shower - the thermostatic control was difficult to balance - either too hot or too cold water.

Save for the tired rooms (some touching up of decor required) the hotel was of a much better sta dard than the 7.6 rating had led me to expect. Good bar and breakfast facilities, comfortable bed, and leisure facilities which whilst not "top end" are far better than many more ezpensive hotels. Very good value

The setting is fantastic

The room had a massive red stain on the carpet that looked like it had been there a while (111) The room had no air conditioning, and given the temperature when I stayed was over 30° there were no fans available, it was extremely uncomfortable. Apart from one member of staff (Linda) there was no engagement at all by any other member of staff, to be honest, I felt completely unwelcome.

Keys to the door never worked, was no lifts and was not very accessible, especially when having to get your key reconfigured every time u needed to use it.

cleanliness, the bathroom wasn't very clean the room was poor albeit the bed was comfy. Vary outdated. Bar facilities and the options of drinks wasn't the best. Gardens were a complete mess and some areas you could almost break your neck on the uneven flags on the rear terrace.

We came here just for food and it was delicious. The servers, Emma and Harriet were absolutely superb, very attentive and friendly. We will absolutely be back! Thank you so much!

The reception team were great at check in

the beds were not very comfortable and i didnt sleep that well as a result. When we enquired about getting drinks later the reception team. Chose to tell me that I had to phone them to order drinks when i said that we were already in the bar area. I had to suggest that I simply ask them before they agreed that I could do that.

Outside space to exercise our dog. Central to where we need to be. Always good value. Staff helpful and friendly. Room clean and has everything we need. Always stay here when we come to Hull.

This is the classic experience of we will accept your booking but then inform you on arrival there is a wedding on (a Sunday night!) playing loud music until all hours, but weirdly the only rooms unoccupied are the ones directly above the wedding party so unfortunately you will have to listen to The Venga Boys till 1am while everyone gets pissed up.

Terrible worst hotel booking. Booked a double room. We got a family room. The room was ru down dirty and very bad state of repairs. Looked nothing like website photos. The bathroom was unclean. Shower had had fungus on head. Silicone pealing off all over. Tiles replaced with different coloured ones. Hairs in the bath. Mould round taps and shower screen. The rest 9f the room was full of stained cracked walls with cobwebs. Not been painted in many years. Carpet dirty. Only one power point. Non near bed side. Was giving an extension that was taped up. Wow. See all photos. The hotel was full of seeming kids and also a wedding on. Outside smelled of sewerage. Terrible condition and not a 4 star in anyway. The staff did not help or care. Or offer another clean well maintained room. Nothing. We travelled 2hours to get here. We asked for refund and left. No apologies no sorry nothing. Teribble service and hotel.

Only one chair in the twin room. Another one would have made a huge difference. Thoughtful provision of single sheets to sleep under and a fan to help mitigate the heat. Helpfulness of staff at reception and at breakfast.

There wasnt much to like

Not child friendly or appropriate for kids especially when functions where on . We stayed here for one night whilst visiting hull. My 10 year old daughter just asked me why would 2 men would be passing eachother a small bag of white powder in the bar area , bearing in mind that was around 4pm on a Saturday . If you have kids with you choose another hotel .

De eerste kamer was op de bovenste verdieping en was er waren en er was geen airco en bovendien stok het op de verdieping. We konden van kamer ruilen op de begaande grond was wat koeler er rook ook beter. Het hele hotel vind ik niet Accor waardig. Ben beter gewend van Accor hotels.

We liked the location as it was a close walk to the shops and local pub the Star Inn and Toby Carvery.We liked the big garden to sit out in and lovely grounds which were very well kept.We also liked the fact that we could use the Swimming pool jacuzzi and steam room as guests which we took full advantage of.Plus the staff were very friendly and helpful.

We didn't like the fact that we had nowhere to put our clothes or a dressing table to get ready.Also we had to ask for an extension lead as there wasn't many sockets for our appliances.Plus we had a very low toilet.The pressure from the shower wasn't too great either.

This hotel is very tired, lounge/bar sofas well worn and definitely need replacing. There were nine of us in our party and the first evening I went to sit at a table so everyone would be able to sit close by. Unfortunately the table need cleaning, I asked reception desk if there was a cloth to wipe it down. A gentleman did come to wipe but then made a comment about why do people pick the dirty tables! All the rooms were in need of a refurb, we accessed our room by some back stairs which were in need of a good clean, cobwebs in corners. Our room my husband put his hand on the chairs and said they need a good clean on the arms, the toilet didn’t flush properly, the kettle needed replacing as a part on the handle let the steam out when boiling. There is no wardrobes only as all unit with about 6 hangars but its not big enough to hang long dresses, which were to be worn at the wedding.

Definitely needs a bit of TLC. Carpets need a deep clean especially in the high traffic areas, stairs and corridors. Also we noticed a lot of the bedroom doors were very marked, so they could go with a lick of paint to freshen them up

Room was like an oven, which is somewhat expected with the current heatwave but no air con in the rooms. Had the option to open the window but unfortunately I was directly above a lot of the vents from the kitchen so I had the option of melting or listening to the noise. Was also directly next to the stairs and heard lots of talking etc throughout the night.

We had a prestige room which was a little larger than normal and came with a coffee machine and some extras. It was quiet, the bed was extremely comfortable, and all was clean. We had a lovely dinner in the restaurant--quite standard and simple fare, but very well cooked and presented, and frankly, delicious. The lovely waitress was put to task as we combined the special offer starters, main courses, and desserts to get the best value, but she did an excellent job with extra smiles. Breakfast was a huge and excellent spread; the first time I've ever seen vodka included at the Bloody Mary section for breakfast. Not that we indulged of course as we were driving!

Please add a socket or ideally a USB next to the beds, as we've come to expect a charging station as standard now. Otherwise, no complaints.

The hotel is extremely tired and in desperate need of renovation. However, we were travelling with our 3 children and with a large garden and swimming pool it worked well for us. We had two adjoining rooms (15&17) which gave us ample space and the rooms were large and quiet. Particular mention has to go to Nickie on breakfast every morning - she was absolutely delightful and nothing was too much bother. It was like being met by a friend each morning. We also thought the breakfast was very good and we ordered different eggs each morning. Pastries were fresh and if they ran out you only needed to ask and they replenished. Spencer on reception was also very helpful. Slightly disappointed with the staff at the pool who, even though there was no one in there other than us - wouldn’t let the kids even jump in the pool. Some discretion could definitely have been exercised in this case. Overall, this worked well for us with 3 kids.
