das einzig positive waren die Betten die hier ausnahmsweise dem europäischen Standart entsprechen und nicht hart sind als würde man am Boden schlafen

es ist unglaublich laut und überbevölkert, beim Frühstück hat man das Gefühl man sitzt in einer Bahnhofshalle zu Stosszeiten, am Pool und Liegestuhl gibt es keine ruhige Minute, es stinkt im ganzen Areal nach Küche und anderen Düften, es ist nirgends 4ichtig sauber, eher im Gegenteil zb der lange Lubengang zu unserem Zimmer war dreckiger als die Strasse beim Gaya street market, beim Fühstück schafft das Personal nicht die Geller mit Essensresten abzuräumen bzw auchdas fallen gelassene am Boden aufzuputzen (asiatische Kinder lassen erstaunlicherweise sehr viel einfach zu Boden fallen, auch rohe Eier), folglich sind ganze Scharen an Vögel da und picken an allem herum, es gibt in den Restaurants und auch am Pool keine Möglichkeit einen sauberen (Liege-)stuhl zu finden, alles ist von den Gästen und Vögeln richtig arg verschmutzt. Die Restaurants sind vom Preis- Leistungsverhältnis exorbitant hoch, das Essen im Vergleich zu anderen selbst street food oder Hawker centern geschmacklich sehr dürftig dafür in übermaßsen vorhanden. nur im Oceano, da schmeckt es halbwegs ( auch wenns nicht gut gewürzt ist), man zahlt echt einen heftigen Preis und geht hungrig wieder hinaus weil die Portionen doch eher klein sind. Für uns waren die Tage hier sehr enttäuschend und eine verschwendete Zeit!

Staff were friendly, and beautiful view over the beach and sea. The breakfast was good although busy! Good you get free insect repellent around the hotel.

The breakfast was really busy, although the food was good. The evening food was not very good at all and very expensive. The pool was very busy and loud with games being played over loud speakers. Felt like we were in a giants kids club which wasn’t very great for our honeymoon!

Excellent buffet breakfast, possibly the best pain au chocolat in any hotels I've been to. Really tasty. Good pool. The staff are excellent, really polite and will try and accommodate your needs.

I came with family and it is a pricey hotel. There were 2x 12 year olds and they were counted as adults.

It was a well laid out resort facility with expansive breakfast buffet several restaurants On Site, Spa, gym, and accessible beach that you could walk on a swim. Rooms had good views and comfortable beds and staff were very nice. The nightly performance on the beach was nice as was having music in the lounge area. Beautiful sunsets nightly from the property.

I would’ve expected a Shangrila resort like this to be better maintained and a little bit more updated. The food was really mediocre and not as tasty as I have had at other major resorts with buffet style service. The check in process took 30 minutes - really too slow. The sunrise hike Trail sounds great, but you can encounter monkeys and possibly snakes on. It was what one of the staff told me. I think that’ll be important for guests to know before they sign up for that activity.

The food was excellent. We ate at the main buffet every breakfast and evening meal and used the beach cafe for lunch - it worked perfectly. There are other restaurants if you want to mix it up. A very relaxing stay - facilities are wonderful.

The beach isn't a big selling point - it is nice and quiet given it is a private beach, but the sea and water aren't the most friendly or beautiful I have seen.

I like that you have activities at the beach. You even have staff making the numbers to play a decent beach volleyball.The cultural activities kept the vacationeers entertained.

I wouldn't say I don't like. I'm suggesting that you promote your hikes and guided tours eg buntings, pamphlets, in additional to having a counter. I didnt feel the excitement to participate. The slides/water feature needs to be upgraded

The grounds and facilities at the hotel are exceptional. The staff were fantastic and very hospitable with nothing too much hassle for them. We loved the variety of food and recreation options as well as the spaciousness facilities.

Chambre pas propre, à notre arrivé il y avait des excréments d’animal sur le lit. Le lendemain matin, j’ai trouvé un énorme cafard dans la salle de bain. Certaines parties n’étais jamais nettoyé par le personnel et sale. C’est inadmissible pour un 5 étoile et vu le prix. Nous avons trouvé que la nourriture proposé dans les différents restaurants était très chère et pas spécialement bonne. Plus chère que prix européen.

Great location on a large swathe of sand with a forested backdrop. Despite its age the facilities are great. It’s one big kids club - so many activities and areas to play. Great staff.

The F&B is okay but not fantastic. It’s the tropics yet there is very little in the way of fresh fruit options with juices. Other than the lobby it’s just push-button machine coffee (think old beans and powdered/UHT milk) not proper espresso. And the hot water at breakfast is set to 80 degrees, a temperature at which a tea bag can do little more than contemplate its purpose.

Huge property and very good facilities. Ocean wing much nicer and better service. Laundry service taken twice and was decent.

Garden wing had bad smell constantly and restaurant for breakfast felt very mouldy.

The water pressure from shower is not adequate. Location of hotel is a little far from the city. With no traffic jam it takes about 45 minutes but you have to plan for at least a 2 hour journey to the city during the morning peak hours. Sandflies are a problem at the beach.

Nothing specific, I just wasn't impressed, I was expecting more luxurious rooms, newer furniture and decoration, more fancy facilities, but it was just like any other normal 4 stars hotel with much less price

The Rasa Ria is a wonderful hotel. We booked it for R&R and it definitely provides that. The staff are wonderful, the location is gorgeous (beautiful sunsets, lovely beach, away from the town but with a shuttle if you really want to go), and it feels like a treat. Great breakfasts too.

The hallways are a bit shabby, it definitely feels 'lived in'. And we found the prices for dinners very high so opted for local restaurants or eating in the cafe instead.

Tajudin The private beach was stunning with beautiful sunset. The fire show near Sampan Bar at the hotel beach was a must to see. Our kids loved discovering little crabs and fishes and shells along the beach. They also enjoyed other activities that the hotel offered such as firefly boat trip and cycling to nearby crocodile farm. The staff was very friendly and kind. Once I was stuck in the elevator (unfortunately a lightning caused a power off). The staff reacted very promptly in a professional way to ensure my safety and wellbeing. The manager who’s in charge of the night shift found me at the sports bar and apologised with such caring manner. The next day the chief concierge (also the day manager) Mr Pg.Tajudin kindly offered us a complimentary car ride to the airport. They really looked after the guests so well.

Wij hebben een upgrade genomen van Garden Wing naar Ocean Wing. Het was al behoorlijk prijzig, maar we lieten ons verleiden om voor een paar honderd euro meer écht luxe te zitten. Dat bleek een goede beslissing. Ik had hoge verwachtingen van Shangri-La maar Garden Wing bleek een soort all inclusive resort te zijn: druk, kleine kamers en rijen voor het breakfast buffet. Ocean voldeed wel aan mijn verwachting, maar daar betaalden we dan ook de hoofdprijs voor (ruime kamers, heerlijk (rustig) ontbijt, apart (rustig) zwembad zonder glijbanen ed. Al met al heerlijke dagen gehad, maar de prijs kwaliteit verhouding klopt niet helemaal.

Er zijn verschillende restaurants waaronder een soort van food court waar je a la carte kan eten. We hebben daar meerdere malen een uur op ons eten moeten wachten. Het is het allemaal net niet. De overige restaurants zijn zeer prijzig. Wij hadden andere verwachtingen van Shangri La. Meer klasse. Tijdens het ontbijt werd jazzmuziek gedraaid wat ik persoonlijk vrij intens vond op de vroege ochtend haha.

Heel fijn hotel, met ruime kamer. Het bad op het balkon is fantastisch. Erg prettig dat de minibar elke dag weer gevuld wordt. Het ontbijtbuffet is zeer uitgebreid en erg lekker. Wij waardeerden de shuttle naar de airport ook.

Wij vonden de prijzen in de verschillende restaurants heel erg hoog.

We had a great family vacation at Shangri La Rasa Ria. We booked it at the last minute and got large ocean view rooms which were a bomb on the pocket but a great experience nevertheless. The goods: 1. Great family friendly place with plenty of activities including free and paid. I especially enjoyed the fire show and golf putting with my son. 2. Good breakfast spread - there was some decent Indian spread too (dosa/idli for breakfast would be a stupendous addition). 3. Great service - everyone from reception desk to restaurant to pool to activities were super helpful and welcoming. Special thanks to Azri/Adrian from egg counter (probably the busiest job during such a peak holiday period) and Michael from the coffee terrace restaurant for special care shown for our dietary needs. 4. Big and beautiful property - plenty to walk but largely fun. 5. Good gym for a hotel - decent machines and weights collection.

What doesn’t work so well: 1. Distance from city: every decision to travel to city for food or tourism is technically 2 hr return travel decision - we compromised a couple of meals to avoid the travel. 2. Price point: Everything was heavily priced for the star rating and distance from the city. 3. Limited vegetarian eating options - the staff really tried to help but it was inherently limited.

Ontbijt miste een aantal primaire producten voor de gemiddelde Europeaan. De ontbijtruimte was vaak te vol en we moesten dan in de rij wachten op een tafel, wachten in de rij voor een gebakken ei, in de rij wachten bij de koffiemachine, etc. Hygiene liet te vaak te wensen over in de ontbijtruimte. Vaak waren dingen al leeg/op voor 10:30 en begon het personeel al ruim voor 10:30 met opruimen. Dat is eigenlijk onacceptabel. We voelde ons eigenlijk verplicht eerder op te staan dan gewenst om enigszins rustig te kunnen eten en nergens in rijen te hoeven staan. Het hotel draait in fases over hun capaciteit wat zorgt voor ongemak.

The setting is genuinely special: tropical grounds, stunning sunsets from the beach and Sampan Bar, and good food at Tepi Laut. The Kids’ Club offers nice touches too — a free daily craft (best for younger children), marshmallow roasting on the beach, occasional face painting, and a fire-twirling show a couple of times a week that was genuinely entertaining.

Most of the resort's "extras" felt present on paper, thin in practice. A musical trio played, but with no mic or amp setup they were hard to hear, and the set ran only around six songs — nowhere near enough to build atmosphere. Service was friendly but lacked luxury polish — we were pushed to upgrade rooms at check-in while our booked room wasn't ready, with nothing better than bad machine coffee as compensation. The beach had too much rubbish for comfortable swimming, the pool area needed more shade, loungers, and service, and drinks were overpriced for a limited, mediocre selection. Rasa Ria has all the right ingredients but hasn't worked out how to turn them into a cohesive, memorable stay. Right now, it's a resort of near-misses.

We had two electrical hazards in my room I highlighted this to the staff and they just said they would fix it. No recompense offered despite posing a risk to life to myself and family.

Die Lobby, Poollandschaft und die Zimmer mit Meerblick sind sehr schön. Das Personal war freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis stimmt nicht. Das Hotel ist in die Jahre gekommen. Es müsste renoviert werden, der Strand mehr vom Abfall gereinigt werden. Das Personal ist freundlich und hilfsbereit, aber an der Organisation fehlt es. Es werden Touren angeboten, die viel überteuert sind. Zum Meer muss man weit laufen und das Wasser nicht schön.

I think some of the staff need better training (there was even a lady who called me several times while I was taking a nap and chased me to pay MYR 30 that she had forgotten to add to the lunch bill)

The property is extremely old and not well looked after.

There was serious bug problems. We left there consumed by bug bites which turned into blisters. We wore plenty of bug spray outside so the bites could only have come from our room. Very unsettling. The food on garden side was aweful, however they charge the exact same amount for great food on ocean side.

A quiet getaway from the hustle and bustle; they took care of our anniversary celebration very well even added a beautiful simple decor in our room. Breakfast choices were good. Activities were plenty . I was glad that the horses looked well taken care of. Appreciated the shuttle bus service available for us to use. We enjoyed the teppanyaki restaurant and services provided. I liked the sustainable practise of the air conditioning being switched off if the sliding doors were open. Liked the room having both aircond and a fan.

Italian restaurant wasn’t to my liking because of the limited choices of pasta. The floor in the room wasn’t fully carpeted so we could hear chairs being dragged from our neighbors above. The pool side burger could be improved as the patty was relatively dry .

Splendido resort immerso nella natura del Borneo, ideale per famiglie e per chi cerca relax. Camere spaziose, personale sempre gentile e professionale, ottima colazione e bellissima spiaggia. Abbiamo apprezzato particolarmente le attività legate alla natura (c’è una riserva naturale) e gli ampi spazi per i bambini. Un soggiorno davvero piacevole che consiglio senza esitazioni.

A superb hotel with all the facilities one could want. My ocean wing junior suite was spacious, elegant and luxurious. The swimming pools are great and breakfast was plentiful & varied. It was nice to also swim in the sea. The staff were exceptional.

The breakfast was exceptional with so many choices. From fried rice, pancakes, baked goodies, fresh fruit and so much more. They also did not run out of anything! The beach was beautiful with some nice small waves for the kids to enjoy. The room was clean, the airconditioning was great, it was quiet and everything as in the photos. The staff were super friendly and helpfull, really exceptional. So much activities for the kids to do!

The fact that we couldn't stay longer..

Tepi Laut restaurant food can be improve in terms of of taste. Some areas should improve the maintenance. Should provide security safety box in the room.

The breakfast was a lovely spread. As usual a few items on demand for vegetarians but no complains. Beach view was great. Room was lovely and had all the amenities.

1. The room service was putrid. They would forget orders, not pick up calls and just disappear making us wait for us food for hours. 2. We went for a walk along the beach and came back bitten by sand flies. Assumed it was the hotel's responsibility to either fumigate the surroundings or keep us warned.

Die Distanz zum Flughafen war sehr groß, ebenso die Distanz zum Meer. Der Pool hätte auch sauberer sein können und die Laufwege zum Zimmer waren extrem weit.

The property itself is good, that they have the beach. Just that I'm not a fan of the horse riding as the smell is so freaking strong you can even smell the poop at the beach... and it adds up more hygiene problem... Like I got flea bites.

The horse riding poop smell, in which should be removed. The restaurants, menus and choices are so limited... They didn't even check the lights in my room whether if they are functioning or not, specifically the Balcony Light, Working Desk Light and etc. Breakfast buffet's choice is so limited...

Activities were expensive.

Shangri-la is in fact hyped up for good reason. It absolutely delivers exceptional services to guests. I opted to upgrade my suite from the garden wing to the ocean wing which was absolutely stunning. Every single person that works in the resort will always greet you with a smile and respect. I appreciate that from the staff. All staff members are friendly and extremely helpful. I would certainly book into a Shangri-la premium suites.

The property is slightly outdated. There is evidence of wear and tear on some of the furniture and ceilings with visible patches. Snacks are only provided on initial check-in. Unfortunately there was no restock on the snacks on make up room. The food is mediocre for the price with the exception of Oceano and the breakfast buffet. I can’t speak about other restaurants on the property but the pool area food and cafe food are expensive for very subpar food. Oceano was incredible but of course, quite expensive too. Some days we opted to buy food through grab just because there was a lack of variety and insane pricing. There was a storm in the Philippines which affected the beach area. With trash littering the shore.

Pomimo swoich rozmiarów hotel w ogóle nie sprawia wrażenia przytłaczającego molocha. Jest świetnie zaprojektowany pod kątem wypoczynku – basenów i leżaków jest pod dostatkiem, a cały teren jest zadbany i dobrze przemyślany. Pokoje są bardzo przestronne i świetnie wyposażone. Dużym atutem są obszerne wanny na tarasach, które idealnie sprawdzają się podczas wieczornego relaksu. Śniadania oraz posiłki w restauracjach są bardzo smaczne i urozmaicone. Na szczególne wyróżnienie zasługuje również obsługa – profesjonalna, pomocna i na najwyższym poziomie. Dużym plusem są także dodatkowe atrakcje, takie jak możliwość pływania katamaranem, jazdy na skuterach wodnych czy konno. Dodatkową zaletą jest bezpośrednie sąsiedztwo dżungli, która tworzy wyjątkowy klimat tego miejsca. Szkoda jedynie, że nie można jej samodzielnie eksplorować.

Ceny w niektórych hotelowych restauracjach bywają bardzo wysokie i momentami wydają się niewspółmierne do oferty. Widać też miejscami upływ czasu – zdarzy się niedziałająca lampka czy drobne uszkodzenie wykończenia. Są to jednak detale, które nie wpływają znacząco na odbiór obiektu.
