The rooms were definitely the highlight of our stay. They were immaculate, comfortable, and very well maintained. The staff was also very friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. We really enjoyed the Chinese restaurant and had some very good meals there. Breakfast was decent, with enough variety, although it was nothing particularly special. The marina is definitely one of the biggest advantages of this hotel. Having the marina right on the property was extremely convenient for our island-hopping trip, and it was actually the main reason we chose to stay here.

Unfortunately, the overall facilities were a major disappointment, especially considering the price we paid. The hotel feels quite old, and many areas are visibly in need of renovation and much better maintenance. The swimming pools looked old and worn, and the children’s play areas and games were also quite deteriorated. For a hotel in this price range, we expected the resort facilities to be much better maintained. Overall, while the rooms, staff, restaurants, and marina were positive aspects of our stay, we felt the hotel was far too expensive for what it currently offers. At the price we paid, we expected a much more modern and well-maintained resort experience.

部屋のバルコニーには常設で洗濯干しが付いていて、シーリングファンもあるため洗濯物がすぐ乾きました。 小学生2人連れだったのでとても助かりました。 部屋は清潔。 スタッフはみんな親切で毎日気持ちよく過ごせました。 無料でバレーボール、卓球もできたので4泊の滞在も飽きなかったです。 他にも子供が楽しめるようなものがたくさんありました。 朝食のバリエーションも豊富で美味しかったです。 アイランドホッピングも少し高いかとは思いましたがホテルからそのまま出発できるのはストレスフリーでした。 プライベートビーチもありましたがクラゲが出るとのことで泳げなかったのは残念でしたが、ビーチもプールも監視の方がいるので安心でした。

レストランのバリエーションが少ない。 売店も買いたいと思う物はなかったです。 お土産類など豊富だと良かったかなと思います。

可以看到夕陽的飯店. 游池跟旁邊的玩水設施讓孩子非常開心. 我們是週四去的有自助餐很好吃還有火舞讓人印象深刻 有遇到周四的記得先預約餐廳. 旁邊 Star Marina裡面可以預約各種水上活動(自費). 有多住幾天的朋友推薦參加.

飯店稍微有些老舊. 我們進入的時候還有很多施工的部分 (沒有噪音只是隔起來). 期待新建好的房間讓整個亞庇 香格里拉更棒!!!

We had a wonderful stay at Shangri-La. The location is excellent, with a beautiful private beach and stunning sunsets every evening. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and always willing to help. The breakfast was outstanding, with a great variety of delicious options. A special mention to the manager at the breakfast area, who warmly welcomed us each morning and kindly asked if there was anything we would like to eat. As vegetarians, we truly appreciated the extra care and attention. The chef happily prepared delicious vegetarian dishes especially for us, which made our stay even more memorable

One area for improvement would be the check-in process. During our arrival, there were long queues for check-in and key collection, which resulted in a significant wait. A more streamlined system would enhance the guest experience, especially during busy periods.

We had an amazing 2-night stay at Shangri-La Tanjung Aru and absolutely loved every moment of it. The hospitality was exceptional from the moment we arrived. Every staff member we encountered was friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The facilities are fantastic, especially for families with children. There were so many activities and amenities to keep the kids entertained, and they had a tremendous time throughout our stay. In fact, we enjoyed the resort so much that we hardly felt the need to go out for food or activities. Everything was well-maintained, family-friendly, and designed to create a relaxing and memorable experience. Thank you to the entire team for making our holiday so special. We will definitely be back and highly recommend Shangri-La Tanjung Aru to anyone looking for a wonderful family getaway.

Staff were kind. Supported my elderly parents well. Complimentary passes to lounge were a welcome. Top class treatment as always. Good coffee and breakfast.

Half the resort was under renovation. They should have told us that before we booked.

Rooms and amenities are average for the price and reputation of Shangri-La, the view of the sea and sunset was the saving grace of this stay.

First time waiting 35mins in line just to check into a room. The system of strictly only check in after 3pm was a real nightmare, we arrived at 12pm to do a pre-check-in, had our lunch at the tatu care. Took a stroll on the beach and check out the facilities, by the time we were done it was a quarter pass 2pm, at that point of time the lobby was still pretty empty. I checked with the concierge if there were any chance the rooms might be ready, he did not even bother to call or check, and mentioned we can't check in, come back after 3pm. Fine by me. Went back at 3pm to check in, we waited 35mins for our turn to check in, by the time our luggages reached our rooms, it was half pass 4pm. Almost an entire day was gone!!! I think the management really needs to look into the system and how to manage the flow, if its strictly only check in at 3pm. Everyone swamped to the counter resulting in long queues and chaos. Staff and guest are stressed.

Thoughtfulness in kids'/family facilities (water play area, kids' club, in-room amenities like kids' bathrobes and step stool in bathroom); staff attentiveness; on-site STAR Marina made island excursions very convenient.

Resort is overall very dated; quality of food is average; check-in took a very long time (~15 minutes).

The property is very run down. They are currently under renovations but the hotel is very tired, pools missing flooring, toilets broken and just a feel of very much in need of some tlc

When we checked in we were told we had an upgrade. But it wasn’t really an upgrade, it was just a move to a lower ground room. Which we had specifically chosen against when booking as we didn’t want our children to be able to leave to room alone. When we said we didn’t want this room, we then found out our original room was no longer available.

We visited for the second time because we were very satisfied with our stay two years ago. While our satisfaction wasn’t quite as high as before, the memories remained just as special, and we had a relaxing stay. The children had a great time with plenty of play opportunities, although the ongoing construction in several areas caused some inconvenience.

The pool floor shows signs of wear and needs refurbishment, and some areas of the facilities require maintenance. It was also a bit disappointing that the staff seemed somewhat disorganized.

我住在一楼，推开门就是超级无敌美的海景，晚上日落时分更是美的没话说！酒店有点餐服务，吃下来都还不错，除了价格贵一点没啥好挑剔的。有提供免费的冰块、气泡水等，晚上我跟老婆兑果汁喝很开心！泳池挺干净，小孩玩的也开心，也有专门一块场地供小朋友玩滑梯之类的设施，另外酒店也有码头提供眺岛游服务，几个岛真的很美！总的来说景观、服务都没什么问题，非常推荐。

WIFI信号有点差不过问题不大，但是！说一个缺点，我真的在浴缸旁边踩死了一只蟑螂。。还有好几只小蟑螂。我知道一楼有虫啊蟑螂啊也是难免的，希望酒店以后能注意一下一楼的蚊虫、蟑螂问题。

There's a strong fish/algae smell, no ocean swimming because of jellyfish. Could do a better job at reservation management for the sunset bar (my reservation was made and confirmed over Whatsapp but was not found when I showed up at the bar, happened to more people). Better separation of children/family pool seating away from the adult pool so there's truly an adult-only area. No cash payments on the entire property which makes it difficult to tip staff. QR code system for all the facilities info and restaurant menus is quite complex to figure out with acronyms etc, the UI needs improvement

La camera e la colazione erano pazzesche. Abbiamo ricevuto un upgrade della stanza e ci hanno dato la Manukin Suite: pazzesca. Struttura comunque tutta nel complesso meravigliosa.

В отеле нет обменника, те вы не сможете поменять даже 100 долларов, надо ехать в город. при этом даже не принимают наличные в местной валюте, была ситуация не красивая. Моя дочь осталась голодной, когда я уехала на сутки с иностранной картой. Менеджер отеля не смог решить вопрос, чтобы мы урегулировали вопрос на месте.

the construction and distance travelling after check in o your room. we had issues with our air conditioning and had to call staff twice to get it fixed. for the price we paid, we expect these simple facilities to work.

If you’re planning to spend most of your time at the hotel, this is the perfect choice. It offers a wide range of facilities for both kids and adults, along with beautiful scenery. Any requests can be conveniently made via WhatsApp with prompt responses. The location is also ideal—just about 10 minutes from the airport and city centre.

The resort is huge and beautifully designed, offering breathtaking views of the beach and sunset. The surroundings are clean, and especially calming at night, making it perfect for relaxation. There are also plenty of facilities to enjoy throughout the stay. The room is spacious and well-suited for families, giving our active 3-year-old plenty of room to move around comfortably. One of the best features is the patio, which provides easy access to the garden, beach, and STAR Marina jetty, very convenient and enjoyable. The swimming pool is large and thoughtfully designed with different depths, making it ideal even when there’s a big crowd. The heated system keeps the water pleasantly warm, perfect for leisure swimming. The spa experience is excellent as well, offering both body and foot massages. The private setting and soothing ambiance make it incredibly relaxing.

While the private beach is beautiful and well-maintained, it can get quite crowded especially during sunset when many guests gather to take photos, which takes away from the tranquility. There were also mosquitoes in both the room and the patio area, which made the stay less comfortable than expected. Additionally, the air conditioner and refrigerator in the room were not sufficiently cold, affecting overall comfort and convenience.
