Crowne Plaza Toronto - North York by IHG

The food

It’s a beautiful property.

New owners doubled weekday prices and tripled weekend prices but have done little to improve the hotel. Staff are very slow. Waited 45 minutes for dinner. Tried to reach duty manager about changing check out date and line was never answered. Message never returned. Pool closed without any verbal or written notification. One elevator was often not working so tower guests had long wait times.

I wasn't warned that parking was a paid service; after checking out, they emailed me an invoice and failed to return the $250 deposit.

Breakfast was not complimentary and we did not have breakfast there.

Complimentary breakfast was not available

Friendly staff made the difference in my stay. Helpful where they can be, always had a smile on their face. All very approachable. Room was clean and spacious

Choice in breakfast buffet extremely limited. Food was so salty. Could not get my own juice or water. Had to wait for servers to provide it. Did not get refill of orange juice or water (staff were so busy they didnt have time to ask). Some bathrooms were dirty. Doors would not be fully installed (missing locks, not all hinges were installed, some hinges were missing screws). Gym is very small and limited in equipment. I travel 2-3 times a year and I must say, the gym here was the worst hotel gym I've been to. Attention to detail is lacking. Theres a sign outside that directs you to a "Japanese restaurant". After following the sign and could not locate it, one of the staff members said theres no longer a Japanese restaurant and in fact, its been closed for YEARS. All the items described above would be shameful for a "4 star" hotel.

Location

Long waits to speak to staff at desk. Man (3 different men) always on phone for long time. Never puts person on hold to actually answer a quick question from an actual guest. Meanwhile doorman always st a loss for something to do. Can’t he be trained to take a reservation? Price triple from what was quoted on Wednesday night to what was charged by Saturday night.

Staff were amazingly friendly. Everyone you ran into was friendly and willing to help.

Room was tired and needed care.

Location, room size and cleaning

Not being notified of the charge until checkout. It would have been nice to have been made aware of this at check in.

The room was exceptional. When we walked into the lobby the smell was amazing! The bed was comfortable. Everything was so nice.

There was nothing we didn't like

Large upgrade room with two beds and two baths, lovely balcony and view

We were awakened all night with damaged AC unit that made a loud fluttering sound when it came on, enough to startle you out of a deep sleep. When I called later they were already on site to fix the problem. Unfortunately we checked in after midnight so we’re not aware of the problem until it was too late to complain and change rooms.

It was a beautiful place! Staff were great! Room was great and the beds are very comfortable! Would definitely stay again!

Location, room was also very large, bed was very comfortable, staff were friendly and helpful.

I did not appreciate the guests or visitors to the hotel who parked in spots reserved for those with Disability Permits, and who did not display a permit.

Convenience and value!

Location

Elevator

Large and well-equipped rooms. Very quiet in the rooms. Comfortable bed. Just lovely.

The bathroom door squeaked. That’s it. The staff are looking into it.

The atmosphere, the area is around restaurants, not to far from different areas of toronto

N/A

Absolutely everything

The breakfast eggs were a bit over cooked and bland And the bacon was WAY too salty

Excelente pequeno-almoço

It was close to a lot of the places I wanted to check out and visit also wasn’t too far from the rogers stadium.

Personnel courtois

Very clean.

2 elevators working. It was a long wait to have a ride.

It’s clean and the staff are nice

It’s a bit far from the train station

The breakfast was good. I just hope there would be more options next time.

When i called for room service for, no one answered back. I left a message but no one called back. I just went to reception instead and asked for what i needed.

The smell, how well clean and neat the place.

No time for breakfast

Location

USB sockets didn’t work. Rooms were dark. Toilet leaked.

We upgraded to a suite that was clearly down fir maintenance. It was filled with bees-literally like 40- on the 22nd floor. WiFi was horrible and insecure! An open network for guests???? Staff was fairly clueless about the surrounding area except for Dwight the bellman. Overall it’s a lovely property, but it needs help.

Wifi. Secure network. No need in rooms. Daily housekeeping! We didn’t get service.

Property was great …sorry I left a bag of my clothes and slippers in the room to 73 I hope someone can get this message and help keep it for me when I return in 10 days

good

Bed and shower fin; outdoor pool nice

Breakfast overpriced and poor quality; games (pool) room staffed by drunken/hung-over man smelling of cigarettes, who slept on couch while we there there; few electrical outlets in room

Room is really clean and services from front desk and the house keeping is fantastic.

Slightly outdated with very slow charging USB but the view and everything else was fantastic. The AC unit was a bit loud whenever it kicks in but I'm a deep sleeper so doesn't really bother me as much.

Clean and well maintained.

Nothing

Elevator broken down and those working were slow. Crappy breakfast experience. Entire hotel is tired and needs an update.

Room and bed were excellent. Did not have breakfast.

Elevators required a good cleaning.

The location was perfect for us.The forest around the hotel as well as the beautiful flowers in front of the hotel were gr8.

Our air-conditioned was not working when we got our room.

Great location. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Very pet friendly….even a little dog park. 😀 Breakfast was very good and the service very good. Beds were very comfortable.

Great location it seem like they were doing some upgrades but they still made sure everyone had a pleasant stay.

They carpet had a odor

Location was very close to destination. Very clean.

Not a lot of handicapped parking near entrance. And some being used when I arrived were not even handicapped (no permit). One fellow even said he was only going to be there “a minute” and was still there when we went out and came back from supper.

Everything was excellent . Keep it up

J'étais facturé mon séjour malgré que j'ai payé mon séjour via booking

Beaucoup de problème pour le remboursement

Rooms are spacious and clean. The lobby is beautiful and welcoming. The pool and fitness centre excellent.Great location, can walk to plaza for food and shopping.Very big, nice, comfortable hotel with great views

Free breakfast or snacks should be offered to your guests

Location

We stayed on the second floor this time, and it was quite noisy in our room. It appeared that above us there was perhaps a room with washing machines - at least it sounded that way - the noise was there in the morning and in the evening. Room had a bit of dust especially on the floor.

My car got stolen from their paid parking lot. They had advertised controlled entry but turns out anyone can come in and out of the parking lot. The hotel right away declined liability and when the cops came their cameras didn't even cover the parking lot properly.

Surrounded by a nice garden! Very big & beautiful landscape!

Walkway & swimming pool

View, facilities and staff

Maybe far from downtown but you have lots of places nearby

Great all around

Awesome. So glad crown plaza took over. Excellent upgrade in services.

An oasis in the city. Woodland walk was beautiful and we even saw a deer!

Can't think of anything!!

It’s location, convenience, cleanliness, and friendliness of the staff were excellent

I can’t think of anything.

Outdoor swimming pool. Buffet breakfast.

Large property had only 2 elevators working out of three in main lobby

The ground, restaurant, pool, amenities.

Waiting for the elevator to go to or to leave room. Sometimes up to 10 minutes and stairs said for emergency use only.

Location and staff

Bathroom shower

Schoon, goed bed, ruime kamer en heerlijk ontbijt

Nice pool, very quiet. Very spacious room.

No indoor pool.

Staff are accommodating, room is clean and breakfast is exceptional a lot of food to choose.

None

Food good, all meals Staff 1st class. I wouldn't stay again, as I found Toronto too overwhelming.

Gym could have more facilities.

Access to restaurants and public transport

Minden szuper volt

A few surprise fees. I booked 3 rooms for 3 parties traveling together and lots of mixups. We sorted it.

The hotel was clean, comfortable, and conveniently located. Both the hotel and restaurant staff were friendly, welcoming, and provided great service.

I requested a front-facing room a month in advance, but unfortunately, the hotel was unable to accommodate my request. Additionally, the windows were not clean.

Almost everything.

Not being allowed to ‘tinker’ with the piano

Location

Slow lifts and unhygienic restaurant buffet in morning.

Location was great. It’s clean. Staff were very helpful.

The location is perfect. Breakfast is good as well. All the staff at breakfast are great and super friendly. Concierge are very nice as well

I booked the suit. The balcony was always dirty, was not cleaned throughout my stay. House keeping just change towels and give water. Room isn't really cleaned, bathroom isn't cleaned at all. I was there for 12 days and this was the daily activity. The bathrooms are quite worn out

everything was up to expectations

The room is large

The shower place is too short

Clean

Nothing

It is an old establishment, the rooms furnitures and windows are very old. We had a suite with double glassed windows which were very dirty between double glaces with no visibility towards balcony. Very disappointing for the price tgat we had paid.

Clean and good location

None

Good location

Very expensive compared to airport hotels. Very slow elevator service. Paid for parking on top of a very costly room rate.

Flexible and amazing customer service. Attempted to check in early and the guy at reception kindly informed me he would be able to assist me in about an hour. I had lunch at the restaurant and came back and as promised, a room was ready, I really appreciated that. The room was above my expectations, it was large and clean with everything I needed. Spent some time at the pool as well which did not disappoint. Very impressed with this hotel and will always choose this when visit Toronto.

The bed was super comfy!

Nothing

Excellent services

Nothing!!! It’s filthy, outside door to the hallway doesn’t open, had to go all the way down to open another door to get inside the hallway doesn’t and walk to my back to my room.

There is not a whole lot to like about this place. The room has a stanch in it. Overall I can’t believe they are rated 4 star hotel, one or two at the most maybe

very clean , friendly staff at the reception , nice room .

not applicable

the property has beautiful gardens and a nice nature area outback to sit or go for a little walk.

Excellent facilities and staff.

My only issue was that the guests in the next room were noisy with their young children around 1 am and woke us up.

Nice clean modern facility. Nice staff. All that was great.

I would give it a glowing review, however even though our room wasn’t near an elevator it seemed like we heard the rumbling of the elevator gears (or some other sound) all night. If you’re sensitive to noise, this might be an issue or we may have just been unlucky.
