Nice bathroom
Beds uncomfortable Poor signage to wayfind to room Poor offer of teas and coffee in room. Could have done with a biscuit or cookie. Complicated television operation. Had to call a member of staff to get the TV back on the Internet Noise at night. People emptying bins and loud talking
Very good just been redecorated
No breakfast with room extra payment
Recent Room refurbs done to a very high standard bathroom particularly good with quality fittings Staff helpful and friendly
Nothing to note
Nicely landscaped gardens. Rooms were comfortable.
Lots of stairs. Rooms badly signposted and not easy to find. Not great for mobility challenged persons.
Good size, on site parking, couple of bars and restaurant on site.
Bed base sheet was dirty and ripped, spare pillows had make up on them, TV couldn’t receive any channels, WiFi was non existent in the room. Hotel had an 80’s disco on which was described by one of the attendees as “grab a slapper night” which was extremely loud battling a private event in another room.
Breakfast was lovely. Hotel was clean
Bed was uncomfortable. Was charged fur 3 by breakfasts when my husband only had one on the Monday Morning
Location was good, it looked amazing from outside. The inside was beautiful and they clearly had just had a renovation.
The music in courtyard was playing until 12.30am. We made a complaint in the morning, the staff member on reception said we should of called down and they would of turned it down- surely this is not the right practice. They stated there was a protocol for what time it can come on in the morning but they dont have any protocol for how late into evening it can play. We also went when it was a heatwave- however no air con and no fan provided so windows had to remain open- this added to the noise levels. Made a complaint via booking.com and the hotel did not respond at all.
It was a nice clean hotel. The staff were friendly.

Position, Friendly Staff
No Air conditioning, Breakfast was poor
The staff where helpful
The long trek to my room
Good location, just off motorway. Nice clean hotel.
The restaurant is quite dark ,not very inviting. We were getting ready to go out and the fire alarm went off .We walked out ,downstairs to the fire escape which lead to the kitchen. We walked over broken paving slabs. To meet a member of staff, she had no idea of the alarm going off or where to send us ( there were now 5 people) I walked into the kitchen and explained to the chef. (He was horrified we were in the kitchen. ).Explained all of this to reception on the way out ,they said they would be in touch.? They haven't.
It was fairly clean!
I was kept awake all night wth a malfunctioning smoke alarm- it was going off every hour. There was no phone in bedroom incase of emergency- there was no wifi and also tv not working- it was the worse stay imaginable!!
Nice location and clean room
Staff couldn’t find my room at first after walking around the hotel for 10 mins. Then when finally got to room the tv wouldn’t work. Got fixed but went back off after 30 mins. Only one towel in bathroom. So from arrival to till time to relax took about a hour
Not much
Flies in my room as it was located at the back off the hotel right above the bins No air con No coffee or tea Hair in shower
Very helpful staff, good food, excellent shower in particular!
TV channels unobtainable, no soap in the shower
The staff were very accommodating
I had a room with the sun on it most of the afternoon. It was like an oven and I felt quite unwell. Luckily a staff member brought me a fan, but still very uncomfortable.
The pillows where comfy and was convenient for me as I had just had a surgery and this hotel was less than 5 min away
I didn’t like how the first room we was in was right next to a beer garden which was very loud,I had just had an operation a few hours prior to coming to this hotel so as you can understand I needed to rest, there was no ac or fans so we had to have the window open it got to the point where we had to change room,we rang reception and made them aware that I had just had an operation a few hours prior to going to the hotel. They then moved us to a different room which the shower was dirty was used toilet roll and also till 12:30 there was music blasting out with flashing lights, after that party had finished people where very loud still with kids running around and kicking footballs at walls(reception moved us to the other side which also had a beer garden)we had to have our windows open as it was way too hot still I was very disappointed with the whole experience I had around 3 hours of sleep,as you are probably aware after a surgery you need to rest.I want to request a full refund as I do believe this is reasonable
England beat Norway in the World Cup and were able to watch it in the bar.
No air-conditioning made the room very hot and uncomfortable. No channels on TV (not the only one either) Expensive considering the above
The staff
The noise!! Never had a worse night sleep in a hotel
Bar and downstairs lovely
Rooms dirty, bathroom floor brown with dirt. Beds very uncomfortable Blinds more than useless
Lovely food great bar and staff
It was a lovely to stay in a nice hotel at a very good price
The staff were so accommodating. The rooms were very comfy.

Room was comfortable and the area around the hotel was very pleasant
Some of the food was a little overpriced
Location was perfect for having surgery over the road. Room was very big for the price. The young man on reception at 5am was lovely and polite.
Wifi on the top floor is non existent. No tv remote and took over an hour to be given one. Dust everywhere. No bulbs in half the lights. We had a workman use a card key to enter our room with no knock first. Just walked in with another man whilst we were in bed to look in the bathroom. The room was terribly hot all the time even with windows open and had no fan. On our final night after me having surgery we got up and left at 5am as the corridor of room 203 is clearly VERY HAUNTED! One door slamming constantly from 2:30 till 5am. Lights on and off all night. I sat in tears all night until my partner decided he'd had enough and said we could leave even though he had barely slept from all the banging of the door all night. I did mention it to the lovely man on reception at 5am thursday morning who said he would look into it.
I liked how close it was to the clinic it was lovely an clean inside the room
It was noisy as they had work undertaken the breakfast was disappointing as the bacon an sausage was undercooked an bacon was very fatty the pastrys was dry my mate had the 3 course meal in the evening an was absolutely amazed at how nice it was and the portion sizes you got for the money
Good value for moment and staff are always excellent
The Broadstone suite was lovely. The bathroom was very spacious as was the lounge and the bedroom. Bed was comfy. Large TV, plenty of sockets. The complimentary body wash smelt lovely. The room was very hot but there was a fan available in the room which was very good. Staff on reception were very friendly.
Alarms going off through the night which was unnerving as not sure what they were but heard another guest complaining about fire alarms. WIFI was not good enough for me to do my work. Breakfast buffet cancelled on the first Moring due to low number of guests so had to order with waitress which would have been fine, but no menu of what was available to order. There appears to be some improvements going on in the hotel which was quite noisy throughout the day, but not really an issue as it stopped at a reasonable time.
This is such a nice hotel. I think it's probably had a bit of a re-vamp. The decor is exceptional. The room was really nice, it felt high quality. The restaurant served up delicious food too.
A little surprised that the restaurant kitchen closed at 19:30, but it wasn't a big issue. It will be even better when the leisure centre is back up and running.
Breakfast good.
Renovations happening currently which is good but Letting builders start work at 7am was not welcome at all.
Beautifully decorated and the suite we had was very spacious.
Only downside is that the leisure side of it is currently closed but that’s due to a refurbishment ongoing until August.
Everything was just so nice and I would happily book again i felt so welcomed by the staff and the girls on reception was so nice and friendly
Couldn't open the window. Went downstairs to report it at around 23.30. and there was nobody about. Reported it when we checked out, only to be told " I bet it was boiling" no apology! Not happy.
The staff
One towel for a double room. Room dirty. Accused of smoking and being charged for supposedly smoking in the room when people were underneath a window smoking all night
Great location.
The hotel is undergoing a refurb which makes it look a bit shabby in places. The room we stayed in had recently been refurbed and was clean and functional. However it was extremely dark as you could not open the blinds as you were completely overlooked. Room was basic and lacked character it felt like a dorm. Bedding was cheap. It just lacked personality. Hotel has massive potential but feels like upgrades have been done on a budget. But I would not say don’t stay at this hotel as there was nothing fundamentally wrong.
Poor manager
Okay
Nice building - comfy beds - good parking - nice staff!
It's under renovation - but that's not a negative, looks like they're trying to improve and I bet it'll look great!
Location was good for what I needed, I didn't stay for breakfast. I was there for a wedding reception. Good idea to have a TV in the room but I found it difficult to actually get it to work.
I had originally booked two rooms as it was intended that my son would be going with me but unfortunately he was ill. I asked several times by person and through email that the other room be cancelled and the cost waiver, even booking.com asked but they did not comply and so for that reason I don't recommend this hotel and I will certainty not staying there in the future. Most dissatisfied especially as they actually had the gall to re- let the room I paid for.
Breakfast was nice, even catered for gluten free
The first room we had the card didn't work for lights so we had to be moved to a new one
Nice breakfast and room. Bar, function room was good and attentive staff.
The corridors on the second floor looking tired, especially the carpets. Evidence of ongoing renovations though, so I would assume that everything will be sorted once all that is done.
We liked the location and the staff
We were not advised on booking that the hotel is undergoing refurbishment, the corridors were all stripped and smelt of paint. The menu online for Harry's bar was out of date so the options we chose for food were not available.
The EV chargers did not work properly on my first day, despite me trying several times, and even asking for help from a guy at reception, who seemed pretty clueless about them. The ev charging was what made me make the original booking. However, I did get one to work (on my second attempt) on the next evening.
The light bulb above my bed was not working, but I could manage without it, & so I did not trouble reception again.
The bed is comfy and quiet that is
Receptionist very bad,,I checked in at 11pm they asked for card details in case any damage to the room happened I asked I can give them the next day they refused and not accept to cancel my booking and refund and said they will not let me in!!!that policy is not mentioned in their website,,,no even one water bottle in the room,,,no small fridge,,,no phone to call if i need anything,,wil never go there again absolutely ,,,,, rough staff
Great location.
Building work throughout the hotel, took ages to walk to the room.
Hotel is lovely inside and the staff where very hard working and friendly
Rooms are quite basic but comfortable enough
Didn't have breakfast but the food at night was good and not expensive
It was a long way from the lift and as I have trouble walking
Close to our office, had dinner there and it was good.
Under construction, corridors look creepy, renovated rooms look good but basic. Missing a nicer duvet that feels heavier and warmer.
Good location
A lot of renovations going on and quite messy. Also had to pay separate for parking which I never had to before
Very welcoming. Even though they have refurb work going on, it’s a lovely place to stay
Maybe the sound of drilling at 6am was a little off putting but I didn’t stay awake long.
Large areas of the hotel were under renovation during my stay. As a result, I had to return to the check‑in desk three times: first because the key card did not open the initially assigned room; then because the second key also failed to work; and finally because I was given an “upgraded” room that was still under construction and did not even have bed and floor. Finally, I was assigned a spacious and comfortable room, but the corridor leading to it was being repainted, and the strong smell of fresh paint persisted throughout my stay.
Very good room
There was decorating going on bit of a mess
building orks ere in progress which disrupted oiur us of the faciitues. our bedroom overlooked a tip o broken toilet fittings etc
Just a nice hotel, location where I needed it to be ,would stay there again all rooms are being refurbished which is nice
Nice hotel
The bar and restaurant were very well decorated and well presented . Staff friendly and helpful
Obesely i know work was getting carried out. But The view from our room. Was a load of old toilets and rubble. Just dosed off to sleep. And got woke up buy what i can only assume was the bar staff emptying the bottle bin from the bars. Bed was really small and mattress was not the best.

What guests love
Areas to consider
Cleanliness
5/10Mixed reports: several guests noted clean rooms, but multiple reviews reported dirty showers, hair in shower, used toilet roll in a room and flies—overall below average cleanliness.
Service
9/10Consistently praised staff described as friendly, helpful and accommodating across many reviews (helped with fans, moved rooms when requested), though isolated lapses (fire-alarm confusion) occurred; overall service is a strong positive.
Location
8.5/10Frequently noted as conveniently located (just off the motorway, close to destination) and with a good bar area; occasional downside when rooms faced a beer garden causing noise, but location is generally a strength.
Room Quality
4.8/10Multiple issues reported: rooms overheating in sun with no AC, uncomfortable beds, blinds ineffective, TV failures and long walks to some rooms—room comfort and reliability are noticeably weak.
Amenities
3.8/10Significant amenity shortfalls cited: lack of air conditioning, broken or missing TVs, no wifi in some rooms, no in-room phone, missing soap/coffee/tea—amenities are poor overall.
Value for Money
5/10Mixed: some guests found the price acceptable for convenience, but several described the stay as a 'waste of money' or 'expensive considering' the issues, so perceived value is below the target overall rating.
Food and Beverage
8/10Several positive comments about the food and bar (good food, lovely bar, able to watch events in bar); isolated negative note about poor breakfast, but F&B is generally a positive aspect.
Overall Experience
6.3/10Mixed overall: friendly staff and good location/F&B balance against noisy nights, amenity failures and cleanliness/room problems; average experience aligns with the target overall rating.
