City Lodge Hotel Eastgate

Comfortable, clean room with a small kitchenette, TV, seating area and veranda. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Secure, free parking space right by the room. Free Wi-Fi included. They have a small restaurant and bar on the property, with outdoor seating and a pool. Close to Eastgate mall and Chinatown. Check in is strictly at 2pm, we arrived a bit early but relaxed at the pool area and the staff brought our keys as soon as the room was ready.

Everything was good, no complaints

Centrally situated for business meeting

Nothing I can think of

The staff!!’ All friendly and helpful. Great coffee - nice area near the eating area to play chess.

Nothing

Just about everything.

Nothing

Cleanliness, less congestion

Too simplistic especially the restaurant

The little kitchen did not have kitchen towels.

Courtesy of the staff on duty on 2 different shifts from Security to receptionists. Requested a breakfast pack and got it on time at 2am as requested! Wow! Thank you!

Beautiful experience. Loved everything!

Very safe and secure for the surrounding area.

Extremely slow service in the restaurant.

It's quiet and peaceful

Alles bestens, Personal, Zimmer, Parken, alles top

Excellent family room

Add TVs that connect to the internet for Youtube and Netflix.

Clean

The rooms are clean and spacious for my liking.

The balcony was not that clean but okay.

Peaceful. Friendly security personnel and front desk personnel

The shower was blocked..water didn't drain. Twas like bathing in the shower. The bed felt hard too. Poor service at restaurant for dinner. We waited to order until we left and did Uber eats

I absolutely loved our room, it had everything we could need as a group. It's clean, comfortable and peaceful. The service was great, thank you to all the ladies that served us. 👌🏾

That there was no water in the room. Otherwise everything was great 👍🏾

The staff was very friendly and helpful.the place was spotless I really enjoy myself everytime I go there...breakfast to die for it's a 10/10 for me.

We enjoyed our stay at City Lodge Eastgate. We liked the convenience of the family suite. It is spacious and suited our needs perfectly. It was quiet and the rooms were clean and well maintained.

Please provide at least 4 four cups in the room. We were a family of four but there are only two cups provided. As it is somewhat of a self-catering option providing a little dishwashing liquid and a sponge or cloth would also be appreciated. We did not like leaving dirty dishes behind and had to rinse them off and reuse.

Neat and comfortable

Amazing staff, I have been using this hotel for the past 3 years when I visit a few times each year. It is actually condo full mini apartment flat with kitchen sink , microwave, fridge and plates etc. kitchen table. Nice balcony for each unit. They have family 2 bedroom suites with 2 bathrooms as a full apartment with kitchen and living room as well above foyer. Price is VERY reasonable. Park your car under your condo , nice set up. The abandoned mall used for paint ball activities behind the hotel is a little ugly and the small river smells sometimes. That’s the only down side. I still feel at home and will go back again. Staff treat me like family, they remember me and go out of their way to help. Top manager Brownwin and her entire team are very friendly and professional. It’s a very quiet location and for me is perfect when using Ubers to travel as a Canadian visiting . Safe, quiet , food is amazing, and close to Eastgate and Bedfordview main shopping malls with easy uber pickup.

Dinner was excellent - service, food taste, portion size and value for money

The iron attached to the ironing board not very practical - the iron holder takes up too much space on an already small ironing area.

Security is good and quiet location

Feels secure and more private

SERVICE in the breakfast room was excellant.

Very nice stay.

Friendly staff from the security guard to reception, the place is cleanl and peaceful.

The service at the reception was excellent, thumbs up

The place is convenient if you want to travel around Joburg. Very clean and secure too. The staff is really friendly and know customer care

I have a room preference, not on the ground floor, this is where I was put. There was a brocken door that took city lodge 3 days to fix not to mention ants on the level I was given

Spacious room with kitchenette

Dirty door fridge Dirty kitchen cupboard.

The whole setting of the hotel, makes you feel very welcome and relaxed. I like the set out of the rooms and the view you see from the windows.

The instinct of the hotel staff is not to be helpful, in fact very cold and uninterested at times especially the gladies at the Reception, otherwise it was good value for money. There were also mosquitoes in the room.

The location is great but I think for the class of hotel the breakfast should have been better

The room was great and the garden and patio exceeded my expectations

The hotel was clean, sheets and their environment. It's a quiet place. Thoko was the best in the reception. The kitchen staff was so amazingly

Location to airport and neighborhood and helpful staff

Ants

Enjoyed my stay at City Lodge Eastgate. Close to the airport with friendly staff and nice quiet rooms. Feels more like a neighborhood than a hotel. In a good way

Beautifully clean and excellent service

Standard breakfast.

The ants in the room. I left my snacks on the table in the evening when I woke up it was all covered in ants. Please fumigate the place.

Very comfortable room.

Restaurant staff appear to have a problem with non South African customers. 45 minutes waiting for a very basic meal when locals who came in after us were served promptly.

Location is good with easy access to the mall and main roads

The beds were comfortable. It had a great shower. Breakfast was good. Nice balcony.

Quietness

Breakfast was good with a good choice. Front staff was friendly.

Restaurant service was friendly, but waiter seemed to be very unsure and insecure. The burgers were just awful, so tough, almost unedible. The wine we ordered was off, expired vintage. Wine was replaced, but we got charged for both bottles. I booked a shuttle to the airport, which never arrived. However, the manager herself drove me to the airport.
