Spa was a bonus although very tired

Staff were very unfriendly on arrival. No information volunteered re check-out time, location of facilities etc. Not aware that I also had to pay a room deposit even though I had pre-paid. Room right beside main road so unable to have window open due to traffic noise so room stuffy. All in all a disappointment.

Was close to the NEC and airport.

Quite old fashioned hotel could do with a more modern renovation.

Friendly staff

It’s close to the airport ( even a walking distance) and you can leave the car there rather than the airport. It has a swimming pool but didn’t have a chance to use it. Also £50 deposit can be used in the restaurant. Smooth check in/out process

It’s clearly quite outdated, and the beds would require an update. One night was alright but longer stay wouldn’t be the best experience

The best room we have ever had at The Arden - air con and water provided, loved it thank you! Also the bar food is always fantastic and the staff lovely. A great hotel.

Spacious on the outside with plenty of parking for customers and loved the feel of the property. Room was quite with comfy beds so able to get a great nights sleep, with access to window that can open during day and plenty of room for if 2 people where sharing. There was myself on this occasion so really enjoyed the double bed on my own!

Theres were a few things that need to be improved for the price I payed: - Room service quality of food that I shared some considerations to front desk staff that I hope have been passed on. Making me have to wait longer than required if done well the first time. - Rooms lighting seemed back to front, the main lights in room were dimmed and the bed lights were really bright that would keep you awake if put on! - Carpets need updating as the room I stayed in had marks on it. - Bathroom area needs modernising for a more Leisure Club/ Spa feel.

Great location if you need to stay near the NEC, train station, and Birmingham Airport. The staff were very friendly, and the room was spacious and comfortable. The hotel is slightly outdated, and unfortunately, the room was not as clean as expected. The bathroom also did not meet the expected standards of cleanliness. It would also be helpful if basic toiletries, such as shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, and other washing essentials, were provided. Adding these amenities would greatly improve the overall guest experience.

It was clean. the facilities were good and i liked the meal options of bar food or the restaurant. The option of spa facilities included in price were amazing and very welcome

Upgraded to Champagne room which was large and spacious. Bed was super comfy and the room was cleaned to high standard. Overall very happy with my stay.

Prefer not to have a high, fixed shower head, just a minor niggle.

It’s just a bit tired and dated hence the price. The rooms were super hot but we were notified beforehand and they provided fans. You can’t complain they did everything they could. As I say the staff were lovely

A very convenient and comfortable hotel close to the NEC. Easy check-in. Superior room has sufficient space, chairs, opening windows and reasonable lighting for our liking. Decent breakfast and good restaurant menu.

Bed-topper wasn't firmly fixed so ruffled up. Room overlooked front entrance and some noise from comings and goings in middle of night. Had to pay extra £5 for parking as we over-stayed by 5 mins!

the hotel needs updating - it is really showing its age. the room i was in was bland and had dark brown furniture from the 80's. the hallways are dated especially the pictures on the walls.

TV control was broken as I couldn't change anything on the tv. This should be checked prior to handing the room over. Not addressed while in the room as I was not in there long but could be a real bother to others.

For me it was overall an OK stay. However, bed and breakfast were good. The staff in the breakfast room was very friendly. ● On a positive note, we were offered complimentary breakfast for one morning as compensation, saving us £14 each, which we appreciated. ● I also appreciated that the receptionist later checked with us to make sure everything had been sorted out satisfactorily.

● Unfortunately, the reception staff were not particularly friendly or welcoming. There was no real welcome or friendly interaction upon arrival. ● I had booked and paid for two rooms – one for myself and one for my colleague – and needed one invoice covering both rooms for my company expenses. This caused an unnecessary discussion, and I was initially told that this was not possible and that I would need to contact Booking.com. I had the impression that the receptionist either did not know how to handle this or was reluctant to make the necessary changes. ● I also don’t understand why, despite me having booked and paid for both rooms, the charges were split between my room and my colleague’s room in the first place. ● The shower in my room was completely cold, which was also confirmed by a very friendly member of the housekeeping team.

The bed was a little hard and the pillows, I ate dinner but not breakfast. The dinner was delicious 😋

Location was great, along with the leisure facilities (although we didn’t use them). Bar food was tasty and reasonably priced & so were the drinks. Not many sachets of tea/coffee in the room but you can help yourself to extra at reception.

We ended up in an adapted room which meant the bathroom door slid open and closed. However the “handle” was difficult to hold and the sliding door left quite a gap at one end. Because of hand rails, the shower space was compromised and I kept banging myself. It would have been better to redesign and place shower & toilet with adequate space. As an able bodied person it was annoying, I can only imagine it would be worse for someone who needed extra space etc.

We were attending an event at the NEC and this hotel is perfectly located just a short 10 minute walk to the Arena or Resorts World. The hotel itself is very comfortable, with good facilities. I like to have a sauna or a steam. Spa facilities were good

If I was being picky, decor and furniture could do with freshening up, but this was not a big issue.

The air con was leaking water over my clothes when I told the receptionist all I got was ok thanks for letting us know. I had to pay for parking even though you get it when you stay with you I was told there was nothing you can do. You can see some of the staff didn't want to be there.

Immaculate clean bedroom and bathroom. The beds were very comfortable and having the air conditioning was a great bonus. The facilities throughout the hotel were all beautiful and clean. We had a great meal in the evening which was well presented and tasted delicious. The lady monitoring the pool area was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was lovely and all the staff were great. Location is perfect , id definitely stay again.

Only thing I could comment on is maybe you need to extend the size of the car park as it was completely full by 7pm and that ment we was unable to move the car and leave as we feared we'd loose our space.

Our room 169 could be better sound insulated as you could hear the water running next door & people waking up next door, almost sounded like they where in are room. Still had a decent nights sleep, maybe rooms are ready for modernizing

How close it was to the airport

We stay regularly at the Arden for work in the area, staff are always very helpful and friendly, breakfast is always good and location is superb for the NEC, Birmingham and the wider midlands. Bar area, evening menu and little extras like snooker room are all still on-par.

Some public areas looking tired now and inward investment is needed to compete with local hotels who offer better facilities for not much more. Bed in two of our three rooms were old and clunky and spa area needs attention.

Lovely hotel and as I was there foe the English Open Pickleball Tournament I enjoyed use of the sauna and pool!! That came in handy. Bar food was lovely and still serving at 1015pm for me which was appreciated.

Very old hotel... communale area dirty , dusty poor doesn't look nice at all... bedroom very old but cleaned so that was good. Parking its a nightmare..... absolutely full... they are accepting too many cars but enough spaces available.

Very warm room no air conditioning. Even though when I put in filter for air conditioning it came up as having it.

The location and the facilities included.

The rooms were too warm and the noise from the nearby motorways meant that we had to keep the windows shut. Also, we weren’t notified beforehand that in one of the days we were there, there was a private event being held which meant that the restaurant could not cater for us until after 21:00. The alternative bar menu is quite restrictive.

The staff were really friendly and helpful. The facilities were great and kept clean . A great calm atmosphere. Even tho the hotel is close to the airport and motorway noise was minimal.

The room service food was lovely, the portions were enormous and everything was super tasty and well presented. The staff were kind and helpful. The sauna and steam rooms were really hot which was perfect. It was amazing to have electric car chargers on site. The bed was really comfy.

My room was right by the staircase and the other guests were far too noisy at ridiculous times in the morning as they arrived back to their rooms. I understand there isn't much the hotel can do about that but it meant I got no sleep. As soon as I started drifting off, the next party of clowns arrived. This went on until 3am. The bathroom was a bit icky and outdated. Although it seemed to be clean, it didn't feel clean due to how outdated the decor was. There was also no toilet brush provided. The light fittings, curtains and carpets were a bit dusty. The rooms and corridors needed a general revamp. The spa toilets were messy with tissue scattered everywhere and no private cubicles for changing.

It was very clean. The staff were very friendly. All around it was a lovely stay

It was a bit like a maze to find your room. But once you worked out what corridor to take it was fine. Breakfast was a bit overpriced and had to wait for a while for a cup of tea, as you couldn’t help yourself they had to bring it to table.
