3.5 / 5 stars overall. A better value option that most of the 3-4 star hotels closer to the airport. There is a free, usually hourly, shuttle van than leaves the hotel on the hour, which takes approx 30 mins for the airport run. Drop off or airport pickup is then on L3 departures. Hotel departures can be pre-booked and would need to be so managed, with the high occupancy of this place and the small sizes of the 2 vehicles that I saw being used. The std room was clean, fairly modern and mostly comfortable. There is a small fridge (no freezer component though) a microwave and the ubiquitous Keurig coffee pod machine and actually 3 pods. No room safe either. A window can be part opened. There is an adjustable in room air con. Most rates include a breakfast; which because of our late arrival flight and early departure flight the following morning, we were not able to use despite paying for a 2 night stay. The free, in room wi-fi worked well.

Communication responses from the hotel prior to our stay were very poor via both Booking.com messages and emailing them directly. Otherwise I might have rated this a 4 star stay.

The place needs to be updated, especially the rooms, the room we had the bed was very uncomfortable, the mattress was sinking in, the bathroom -shower/tub should be updated there were cracks in the tub, the shower curtains don’t cover tub so water goes everywhere. Very tiny with toilet and tub.

Honestly, nothing about the stay was satisfying. The property’s severe safety hazards and management’s lack of accountability completely ruined the experience.

1. Major Security Breach: My room door (Room 144) was left unlatched/unlocked for over 14 hours due to failure by hotel personnel, posing an unacceptable security risk. 2. Physical Injury & Safety Hazard: An improperly mounted shower fixture detached during use and caused physical injury. 3. Poor Housekeeping & Unprofessional Service: Subpar cleanliness and dismissive attitude from local management when these severe issues were raised. 4. Inadequate Resolution: Offering mere rewards points for major safety breaches and physical injury is completely unacceptable.

The location was ideal

I got the hotel booked through booking.com. My stay was split in two bookings. First booking was from 13 Aug to 22 Aug and the second booking was from 23 Aug to 29 Aug. Each time I was charged $150 as incidental charges. I was told that the incidental charges would be reimbursed to my credit card after 4 to 5 days after deducting the purchases I got from their in-house market. Until now I didn’t receive the balance of $260

Room was clean and quiet.

Breakfast was way below expectations. Eggs should just contain eggs, bagels seemed a bit stale, coffee weak. We ate else where when we left.

The cleaning lady was nice and the water at breakfast was Cold. Free parking.

This hotel is awful. I'm an IHG member and have stayed at many Holidays Inns and this the most negative experience. Here is my recap: 1. By far the worst shuttle service. It took over one hour for the driver to pick me up. He said “you've been waiting for a long time, huh?” Did he apologise? No. 2. The iron was broken. Luckily the cleaner got me a new one. 3. I arrived at the hotel early and asked for an early check-in. The woman at front desk promised me she would call me if a room became available. She didn't. However I returned 1 hour before check-in and my room was ready. Keep in mind I am here for work. 4. One the keys didn't work. I guess that is standard so no big deal. 5. The coffee is weak. I was still tired after drinking it. 6. The bathroom next to the gym was hideous. I will not going into details. 7. The Dove soap in the shower gave me a temporary skin rash. 8. I got one of those generic text messages asking how my stay was going and I voiced my complaints. Got the typical “sorry we didn't live up to your expectations” reply with no action taken. 9. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere. You need a car if you stay here.

What we like is that it was close to alot of the places we wanted to visit.

What we did not like is that our room had a smell that was unpleasant and upon arrival we got double charged. They said they would refund our money on the first charge and I am still waiting for it. Hopefully my money will be return soon to my bank account.

This is a very nice airport hotel, nothing more or less. Perfect for when travelling. The staff were helpful and friendly and the room was clean and comfortable.

Bed was not comfortable at all and the room was extremely hot even though we had it turned to cool and set at 64. It also turned off so much at night. Definitely an older hotel that needs some updates. Hallways were super hot. It felt like they didn’t have a/c. We were there when the temperature was 39 outside.

Great location a short drive to the waterfront and lots of neat shops and restaurants, while equally close to the airport.

The room was a bit damp- and trying to get the moisture out of the air with the AC did not work.

The customer service was terrible, and the staff who answer the calls and are supposed to handle customer service were irresponsible. I would think twice before booking there. Before booking, knowing that my flight arrived at 1 am, I called the hotel to inquire about check-in, as other hotels don't require check-in until 11 pm. They replied that they had no problem with it.The check-in time and airport transfer were also incorrect. Despite this, I felt completely confident and booked, paying the full amount through the app. My flight arrives in Vancouver. Arriving from Toronto at 1 am, once I picked up my suitcase I called the hotel to arrange the transfer pickup. I made that call at 1:20 am. At the hotel reception they told me there was no problem, that the transfer would arrive at 2:15 am. I thought it was strange that it took so long, but beyond the tiredness I replied that there was no problem and that I would wait for the transfer. At 2:15 it hadn't arrived, so I called again and they told me it would arrive shortly. At 2:30 I called again, already angry. Because I felt it wasn't fair; my wife and I were the only people at airport gate 21. Information that had been passed on during the first call. The story ends with me paying for an Uber to take me to the hotel, checking in at 3:10 am!! Imagine, the first ferry was at 7 am And I only had about 4 hours left to sleep, which I deduced was the most expensive booking of my life, almost CAD 100 per hour, since I only had 4 hours left to use the facilities. I asked at reception to speak with the manager the next day, but I realized that the manager hadn't received that information because it hadn't arrived when I checked out. To whom it may concern. Tired of arguing beforehand, I left the premises without saying anything to ensure with a review that other potential travelers and customers don't have the same experience. It was the ugliest and most expensive experience of my life.

Allowed us to leave our luggage there for a few hours while we went out to eat at nearby restaurant while room was being cleaned.

We had booked the shuttle to airport the day before but there were too many people( and suitcases ) for the van so the driver of Holiday Inn Express said that they had ordered an Uber for us.We waited and waited and finally went into check at the front desk and they said that they had not ordered an Uber. That was disappointing since we had been waiting for quite a long time. The Uber did finally come so we made it to the airport.

My pillow was terrible. Got the vibe. It was like one of the four dollar ones from Walmart or feeling like it was lumps of cotton.

Shower head needs to be replaced or repaired as it dripped, leaving the floor damp near the toilet.

The room was a good size for 4 people and clean. Staff were able to store away extra luggage for us which was great.

I usually enjoy the breakfasts at Holiday Inn Express, but it wasn't as great at this location with what felt like fewer options. The beds were extremely soft, springy and squeaky, which wasn't very comfortable for us. The airport shuttle was only available every hour and cannot book in advance of your stay so when I arrived at the airport, the next shuttle was already full and the wait was going to be 1.5h. We ended up taking an uber instead because it would have been 2:30AM before we got to the hotel. It was unfortunate since I chose the hotel because it had the shuttle service and we only needed a one night stay for an overnight layover. For our ride to the airport the next morning, the shuttle was great but our family had to be split up because they said the shuttles were very full, so we had to leave earlier than needed and separately. When we got on our shuttle, there would have been enough room for 4 more people. We also had to pay extra for this stay, over double the usual cost to stay here because it was FIFA weekend, which I didn't realize until a few days before. It was definitely not worth the price. I asked if it was possible to make an adjustment to the price. I had emailed the hotel with no response prior to my stay since I had seen that the price dropped by $300. I was in Asia and unable to call them. I take responsibility for not cancelling and rebooking though since I got mixed up with the time difference. I thought I might receive some support, but I guess not and I understand they have no obligation to.

Everything was great except the microwave was not working - they replaced it with a smaller one which was fine.

The location is away from the city where the traffic is low. Breakfast was good. Products in the bathroom was good.

Hotel collected from me $108.95 as security deposit apart from my room charges. It seems that it will be given back after 5-10 days, which I'll to watch carefully for the next 10 days. This is NOT fair. These type of charges are vanished in the hotel industry. I don't think I would stay with Holiday Inn, if this practice is followed in future.

Good size rooms

Poor common spaces, noisy traffic. The hotel only provides “limited“ shuttle service to the airport which means once an hour, a long time to wait at the airport for a lift to your hotel.

They said they would email me an invoice. Never did. Charged 150 dollar deposit as part of my total bill instead of separately. Have to wait 5-7 days to get a deposit back. Ridiculous. Should just be pre-authorized and returned at checkout.

In order to get lower body muscles in a relaxed state, temperature of hot tub water must have been hotter. In general hot tub water was luke warm, in general and in specific hot tub water needed to have been hotter.

Nice location, very close to nearby venues like Richmond ice center and cinemas. The room was clean and well equipped. The staff was welcoming. Free parking was also a very positive add on.

Breakfast served at paper plates and wooden cutlery is not my favorite. To be fair; steel cutlery was available. The breakfast consisted of a very limited selection of food, but the articles available had an acceptable quality.

The check in time was 4pm. We got there about 4:25pm and the room was not ready heard housekeeping said ready in 30mins. We needed to freshen up before going out and we ended up leaving our bags at front desk. Checked in when we went back and the room had a smell

The A/C unit would not run consistently through the night, FD error on the Amana unit. This is an option set by the front desk. the lack of white noise and the temp in the room was enough to keep me awake most of the night.

A lot of kids run through the hallway and bang on doors, and some neighbours make loud noise late at night, sometimes until midnight.
