Location was good but in a crowded area View from window was very nice

We had to ask for a different room because the first assigned one was smelling like mold. They had a typhoon in Shanghai and most probably because of this. However, i would have appreciated if they put us from the beginning in a cleand and unsmelly room. The deposit we paid at check in was something not transparent on booking, but they released it back in my account within 24 hours. This is a nice experience compared to other hotels in China where I am waitibg for my deposits back since 5 weeks.

This hotel is just excellent. I was there for more than a week and you start to feel bit like home. Ideal location, very nice and professional staff, excellent breakfast.

Perfect location for going to any destinations. And so many restaurants are around here.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The location was very convenient, the room was comfortable, and the overall atmosphere was pleasant and relaxing. What I enjoyed the most was the Executive Lounge. The lounge was elegant and comfortable, with a great selection of food and drinks. The staff were very friendly, attentive, and professional. They always made sure that guests were well taken care of and provided excellent service throughout my stay.

Beautiful property in a prime location of the city. Food and shopping within 15mins - great if you don’t want to be stuff in the busy traffic of the city.

Lage war sehr gut, die Betten waren recht komfortabel und das Schwimmbad war ganz schön. Room Cleaning war immer top und hat gut funktioniert.

Das Hotel war sehr runtergekommen teilweise, Personal meist recht unhöflich, Englischkenntnisee nicht wirklich vorhanden. Teils muffiger Geruch im Zimmer und Hotel. Wasserdruck und Temperatur teilweise sehr schlecht. Executive Lounge nicht zu empfehlen, Essen war meist nicht (mehr) frisch und Auswahl war sehr mager. Was allerdings wirklich das schlimmste war: Ein Mitarbeiter der Gepäckaufbewahrung hat meine Freundin nach einer guten Bewertung gefragt, welche Sie aus Höflichkeit aufgrund der Nachfrage und leichtem Druck auch verfassen wollte, als es dem Herrn aber nicht schnell genug ging, riss er meiner Freundin das Handy förmlich aus der Hand und wollte die Bewertung selbst verfassen. Dies ist ihm aber aufgrund von Schwierigkeiten mit der englischen und deutschen Sprache nicht gelungen. Das war wirklich zum Abschluss ein sehr sehr schlechtes Erlebnis. Dies sollte kein Umgang in einem Hotel sein. Egal in welcher Preisklasse. Ich hoffe, dass das Personal besser geschult werden kann.

A hotel in a good location for first-time Shanghai travelers. Breakfast is usually... The cleanliness of the rooms is good. The club lounge on the 27th floor was especially convenient to use. All the staff members were kind to me, provided me with various assistance despite my lack of knowledge about Chinese culture and systems, and took care of restaurant reservations, food delivery, and tourist spot reservations for me. I was especially grateful that you provided me with Chris mango every day. She made my dream come true. I am grateful to the staff at the Club Lounge for providing many conveniences during my stay, and I will pray on my way back to Korea that the hotel manager will read this and provide them with bonuses and vacations.

Had such a wonderful stay here! The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the location is very convenient. The Executive Lounge was definitely my favorite part. It was quiet, relaxing, and a great place to enjoy breakfast or relax in the evening. The food was fresh, and there were plenty of drinks to choose from.

This trip was a shopping trip with friends. The hotel was in a prime location and the nearby shopping mall made us very happy🥳 During our stay, the executive lounge provided us with the best experience, with a beautiful environment and excellent service！

I’ve been staying at the property for the past 15 years and in general the hotel and the location is great

I arrived at the hotel at 12am midnight after a a long flight, the room card couldn’t unlock the door, went down to the reception to change the card, again the door couldn’t unlock, we spend 30 mins, the technician came and they asked to repair the door……. I told them I’m tired from the trip and asked to transfer me to other room, they said it’s full occupancy. I stayed there finally by opening the door with the use of the business card of the staff which is one pass use. After I enter the room late around 1:00am I called the room service for dinner and they told me to call back in 10mins cause the responsible person is in the toilet. What the f…..ck!! by the way land line phone cable has problem too, since while talking there was a frequency wave and you couldn’t listen well!! Then inside the bathroom there was trimmed hair behind the sink which wasn’t cleaned properly by the house keeping. DONT CHOOSE ROOM 1726!!! Anyways I always put high ranking scoring, but this time they made my life hard and I was tired to death!!!the hotel is old and the staff must pay more attention to details and the managers to supervise strictly !! Within the next 5 years this hotel will face serious technical problems and they cannot rely only on the good sales they might have just because of the prime location!! The Executive Lounge was one of my favorite parts of the stay. It was calm, clean, and not too crowded. The staff were very welcoming and provided excellent service. I especially enjoyed the snacks and drinks available throughout the day. It was a great place to relax after a busy day. I would definitely come back again.

I love the overall experience of staying here, people was very friendly, the location was the best and the fact that I could get a shower in their gym facilities at 6am, when I arrived, before they gave me my room was the cherry on top! I totally recommend this hotel, will definitely repeat when I go back to Shanghai.

The air con in the room was intermittent. So it was sometimes very stuffy - even when we switched the air con to auto and tried to adjust manually .

Got 1 level upgrade as ALL Gold member. Hotel location is walking distance (less than 3 minutes) from Metro Line 2 station, makes your access to areas such as Bund, Nanjing, or even PVG airport easier. Equipped with 20-ish meters pool, perfect to end the busy day. Room was spacious though a bit dated. Bathroom got shower and tub, with purovel brand amenity kit. This hotel was also willing to collect your online shopping packages that arrived prior your arrival.

Did not like the bathroom and room being separated by a glass window - even though a blind can be drawn, once the light is turned on inside the bathroom, the other person sleeping in the room is being disturbed. Much prefer a hard wall. There is no night light in the room or bathroom - would be very useful to have at least a small one in the bathroom and underneath bedside table.

The Exclusive Lounge was amazing. The staff were friendly and professional, and the atmosphere was quiet and relaxing. I really enjoyed the afternoon tea and evening cocktails. The food selection was fresh and delicious. Definitely worth the experience

The Executive Lounge offered a calm and elegant atmosphere with attentive service throughout my stay. The food selection was beautifully prepared and varied, while the drinks were excellent. It was a perfect place to relax and unwind during free time, and it truly made the overall stay more enjoyable and memorable.

I had a great stay at Swissotel Grand Shanghai this time (I was not so impressed last time, but to be fair, that was during Covid, so service was limited back then). I had a nice and comfortable, well-kept and very clean room on the 26th floor with a great layout and very comfortable bed. Room-wise, this hotel is much better than its more recently renovated sister hotel in Beijing (Swissotel Macao Center). Also their lounge, service and gym are way better here, although some of the gym equipment could need an upgrade. My favourite part of the hotel was their lounge on the 27th floor, which was great for working and relaxing. They serve Jing Tea - which has been a favourite of mine since I discovered it at Fairmont Prague, in particular the green tea is very good. And the staff members were always attentive and helpful. Being able to walk the stairs instead of taking the elevator between the 26th and 27th floor was also very convenient. Room for improvement? Yes, the bread in the lounge wasn’t anything to write home about, and there is a lot of utensils used for the same food at the buffet (smoked salmon and meat, for example) - in particular in the morning. In combination with fresh food being left out over time (at least the cheese could deserve to be kept cold), that reduced the experience a little. And it would have been nice to get information about the opening hours and services at the lounge upon check-in or in the room (I had to go back and ask for it). Also, I was never able to turn the lights inside the clothes cabinet off - so I slept with that light on both nights. Finally, the mozzarella sticks I ordered in the lobby bar did not have melted mozzarella instead - just air. Never experienced that before :-) But all in all, a great hotel. I wish I could have stayed longer and hope to come back soon.

De locatie is geweldig, in een gezellige straat vol eetgelegenheden en om de hoek bij Line 2.

Er zit een hele vervelende tick in de kamers. Ondanks geswitched om 01:00 snachts van kamer en 6 verdiepingen hoger hetzelfde geluid in de nacht. Als je erop gaat letten doe je geen oog dicht. Het ontbijt was redelijk maar niet heel speciaal.

Spacious room, convenient location, good value, decent breakfast.

The room had a smell when I checked in, a bit stale or perhaps cig smoke (although it was supposed to be a non-smoking room). It wasn't too bad, but still strong enough to notice. That's why I gave the room a less than perfect cleanliness score. The view out the window was disappointing, a big yard of chillers and fans.

Good location. Easy to take the metro to the airport.

Lots of bicycles and motorcycles parked on the street making it very narrow to walk especially at night due to poor lighting. The lobby is very big but no chair for guest to sit to wait for ride or check-in. The Hotel is hard to see from side street due to overgrown trees.

Big, comfortable rooms. Breakfast had a huge array of choice. The reception staff were very helpful in changing our room from twin beds to double bed and moving us on to the same floor as our daughters. The location is amazing - within easy reach of all the places of interest.

The pool and spa facilities are nice but you have to wear a swimming hat, and males and females are separate.
