Mostly clean and tidy bit tired stocked only with the very basics even lacking a rubbish tin

I would like to mention and thank the lovely gentleman Foley who was on reception when we arrived he was welcoming and professional. He is an asset. I would also like to mention the helpful and friendly housekeepers . I liked the balcony overlooking the beautiful river and our room was comfortable.

The carpet had lots of stains and lots of maintenance needs doing.

No coffee in the room only decaffeinated went to reception but it wasn’t open till 8 am Two single mattresses that weren’t even may as well been a single bed No smart tv or free wifi

The room was large and spacious and the price was reasonable.

The hotel is very run down and in need of renovation. The air conditioning unit in my room was very noisy. The bed was quite uncomfortable. A separate shower, rather than one over the bath, would have been better.

Stayed in room for 4 people. Had to ask for a second card for the room. Only 2 pillows on king size bed, had to ask for 2 more. Pillows smelt damp

The hotel was very quiet so many room options available. First room I was given was cold, smelly, stained carpets and several light bulbs out. Very friendly staff swapped my room but why give me such a shocking room in the first place when the hotel was virtually empty and many options of the same grade room were available.

There werent enough crockery and ultensils for 3 people. Had to ask staff to bring extra. Also no dish cloth or tea towel.

The rooms were large, the staff very lovely and friendly. The layout of the hotel was a little awkward but very unique and added to the charm. Shower pressure was decent. Free parking

Our room was close to the parking lot and the door would slam behind the people entering and exiting, causing a loud bang to echo, woke up very early to that. No noise reduction. The furniture had paint chips as did the walls and bathtub. With such a reputation they once had, I feel the price no longer reflects what you are getting in terms of value or comfort

Sky was very basic no movies or discovery or interesting channels. Place needs a little work to bring it back up to a high level hotel.

Our room we were in unfortunately we could hear every person walking down the hallway. Was noisey and hard to sleep. This will be my first time as I’ve stayed a few Times and didn’t have this issue.

Easy access and comfortable- very good bed mattress

Even though the bathroom was large and very comfortable, every time I took a shower, the water would end up all over the bathroom. Even with the glass shower enclosure, the whole bathroom floor would get wet.

The staff were lovely and it was easy to check in an out.

The property itself felt dirty. The empty spaces around the hotel feel like its an abandoned building. The pool had bird poo all through, so even though its open, its probably not swimable. The furniture is really outdated, whole place just feels old and cold.

The room is too big and could not be warm during the night. Even though the curtain was thick, it could not prevent the cold weather from coming inside.

The bathroom had a noisy fan or something running continuously that couldn't be turned off, so it was hard to get to sleep. And then the internet was rubbish. I couldn't do a Zoom using the hotel internet at 8am in the morning. It kept dropping out and freezing. I had to tether my phone. I wouldn't want to stay there again.

Beautiful views of the river good covered enclosed car parking in house entry to pub and restaurant great games room as well.

The carpet and furniture needed cleaning the sliding door to the balcony was difficult to lock.

No elevator working on arrival stairs with all luggage was horrible shower not clean properly no coffee/tea refills only one of each on arrival no sky tv channels very disappointing.

Uncomfortable bed. Why have 2 single beds to make a double bed? Cleaning is not up to scratch, and why do you have to ask for room to be cleaned. Air con leaks.

Reception staff were awesome. Location exceptional.

Housekeeping were not good. Didnt make the bed and didnt take dirty dishes

The staff don't annoy you there they pretty much leave you alone everything is accessible , close to the beaches , wharf & town excellent location where we stayed 😊 Apart from the fight in the carpark , patch members walking in and out , cops , nurses etc it was a great stay parking is on point 👌

Overall the accommodation was comfortable and very tidy. A home away from home.

The bathroom tiles however were unclean, it looked like it hadn't been cleaned for sometime but nothing major.

We stayed one night and found the location to be a real highlight, very central and within easy walking distance to shops, cafes, and the waterfront, which made getting around Gisborne easy. The room was spacious and generally comfortable, but the overall feel of the hotel is a bit tired and could do with some updating. This seems to be a common theme noted by other guests as well. There is a pool on site, but we didn’t use it during our stay. Overall, a convenient place to stay for a short visit, especially if location is your priority, but the hotel would benefit from some refurbishment.

Location was great for my work, I could walk to the venue, good for dinner options after work. Nice view of the river.

There was no where to wash dishes when used. On the Saturday night I could hear music from a club until early hours of the morning. Nothing the hotel could do about it, and I had a room on the far side/river side of the building which was appreciated.

Stayed one night staff were great, everything was clean room was excellent.

Needs abit of tlc but would definitely stay again

The room was far too big. My voice echoed and hard to cool the room down. The bathroom was unclean with black marks all over the celling. The bed is 2 single beds pushed together and woke up between the two beds. No milk offered on arrival and long maze to find reception. Lighting very dim in the room

Die Lage des Hotels ist sehr gut. Aber es ist kein 5-Sterne Hotel, kein Frühstück, keine Bar. Das Hotel ist abgewohnt, der Teppich sicher gereinigt aber sehr fleckig. Sprünge in der Waschmuschel, wodurch es schmutzig wirkte. Aber die Bettwäsche und das Badezimmer sauber. Die Preis-Leistung passt, insbesondere wenn man die Garage für das Auto mitrechnet.

Eine Renovierung wäre notwendige.
