Easy to get to from the station.

Where to start.. Slow check in process, thin walls, curtains didn’t block out the light, no amenities, the room we were in was damaged, not very clean, uncomfortable bed, the breakfast is basic and the photos shown on here are a total lie.

This and it's sister hostel in Manchester are both great. Bunks are nice and private which makes all the difference if you get roommates that like to switch lights on during the night. Bathroom was more than big enough for the size of the dorm.

Location was great

The noise coming from the rooms above and around as well as through the hallways was average- was woken repeatedly by drunk party goers coming back in to the hotel between 3 and 5am on both mornings. Lighting could be better in the room

It was pretty close to the train station and to the city center.

-It was not clean -The wall was like paper, you can here everything from the floor, upstairs. -The staff was not really prepared and competent when we arrived. -The breakfast was not even a normal breakfast. They should not charge for this. -The bathroom door handle was broken and when we said in the reception they didn’t do anything.

Het was een plek om te slapen, met een douche. Dat was ook wat ik zocht.

Het aantal mensen in de ruimte ( geboekt 6 personen, in werkelijkheid 16 volgens mij) en de herrie van de wel noodzakelijke ventilator.

Muy bien ubicado, cumple con limpieza, e instalaciones básicas en función del precio está bien.

La habitación estaba justo al lado de las escaleras y el elevador, era algo ruidosa. Estuve solo un día y pocas horas, no fue un problema para mí aunque para estarías más larga solo tendría en cuenta.

Bunks. Real issue of rolling out/off top bunks. My bunk light did not work. Light in bathroom is on a timer - not good if you are taking a dump

Staff super helpful even at my 11pm check in. Spotless room and facilities. Was in a shared dorm. My bunk bed was in a built in wooden structure which meant I didn't feel the person above me move at all. Impressed with individual charging ports at each bunk

Kitchen could do with a refresh compared to rooms.

The location is fantastic—close to everything and within walking distance, very easy to access, and near Lime Street train station.

The shared bathrooms have no locks and were not clean—the same goes for the bathroom near reception; they cannot be closed, so there is no privacy at this hotel.

Location is great. Had our own bathroom! Fresh towels every day!

There is a big kitchen which would have been great except there were no pots, pans, toaster etc. Just a fridge and microwave.

La limpieza de las habitaciones. El lugar dónde ae desayuna, las mesas sucias, no hay servilletas. Los baños sucios, los enchufes de las camas no funcionan. Falta de higiene. Mala atención y predisposición del personal. Ellos dicen que no pueden arreglar las ropturas. Son impresentables. No alojen, así sea por una noche.

Bunker beds area wasn’t clean enough. The bathroom had the shower leaking, causing the entire room to be wet. Very noisy environment at late hours, similar to a hostel which is ideal for youngsters but not for a family. The cost of the room was higher than expected for the room, location and amenities(paid £457 for 2 nights and the cost of a room for 6 was showing £380 for 2 nights during our stay), which I paid without complaint but wasn’t satisfied at all and I would have expected a compliment.

Good location - near the train station, restaurants and shops.

The bed was quite uncomfortable and there were a few marks around the bed. Not the hostels fault, but one of my roommates were very inconsiderate while on the phone for hours, burping and farting exceptionally loud.

The beds could use a rail on the top bunk. The lockers in the bunk are a good idea, however take up to much space and being at the end where the ladder is, it made it very awkward to get in and out of the top bunk. My bunk light wasn’t working either which didn’t help

The reception area has a very strange smell The bedroom was not very clean, dusty and clothes tags etc people had left behind still on the floor. The gap at the end of the bed is so narrow it's quite annoying.

24hr reception. Location was good for shopping area.

Facilities were basic. Towel holder was broken and laying under sink when we entered, bathroom light flickered like a strobe and the radiator started making a noise like the boiler was on and air was trapped in the system despite radiator not heating up as it was high summer. We were told they have no maintenance people to fix anything.

Me encantó el hostal, hasta la sala para desayunar que es un gran salón, muy amables todos y la habitación con amenidades, dos baños para 5 camas excelente! La ubicación muy buena, a unos pasos del centro y zona tranquila sin tanto bullicio.

En general todo del hostal me gustó, desafortunadamente tuve un mal compañero de cuarto sin embargo es algo que el hostal no puede preveer, todo excelente!

The room was very dreary and dull it was not nicely decorated at all, the bed was uncomfortable and creaky which didnt feel safe, there were no tea and coffee facilities in the room and no tv which I fully expect for the price paid. The breakfast was very poor granola and a stale toastie I was not happy to of paid the price for the room we got.

La Ubicación, es muy buena, queda cerca a muchos sitios claves.

La Limpieza, todo muy sucio, solo hay cortinas en cada cama en las ventanas no, tambien habia luces que no funcionaban, nada comodas las camas. Nada que ver con las fotos, y si vas con niñ@s menos nada recomendable.

I had stayed in this property multiple times. I like the location and the fact that it is in the center of the city, easily commutable to my work place which is in the center of Liverpool. The reception is spacious with sofas around to sit and relax as well as tables and chairs provided so anyone ordering delivery food can sit and have in there. I had always found the staff welcoming and helpful. This time I’m lucky enough to have the 4 bedded room to myself.

Everything. The room was too cramped with all the bunk beds, didn't know I'd be getting a travelers hostel. Felt so uncomfortable leaving my belongings with random people not knowing if I'd be coming back and if all my stuff would still be there to the point of having to sleep with all my stuff in my bunk. The person in the bunk above mine kept climbing in and out of his bed most of the night. Then on my second night someone stood outside of my bunk and was shining their phone torch light through the curtain of my bed. The taps were in the bathroom were loose and didn't produce cold water. The shower's didn't last long and will deffo not be staying at the Malacuna Liverpool again or recommending it to anyone.

Very clean, modern room with private bathroom. Room was fairly small but perfect just as a place to sleep. Easy and quick check in, nice staff, in an excellent location for walking to all the sights/bars/restaurants. Excellent value for money for a Saturday night in the city!

В душевой и правда могли бы сделать крючок или полочку. Одежду, полотенце совершенно некуда складывать. Это прям жирный минус. В душевой вроде даже и полы не мыли, каждый день видела на полу один и тот же клочок волос. Душ работает от одной кнопки, напор и температура не регулируются, сначала хочется кричать от холодной воды, а потом от горячей.

Fantastic accommodation in one of the best cities on the planet. As you would expect, we were treated like royalty everywhere we went. Too many karaoke bars to mention were visited. The standard of singing was the best in the workd, as you would expect in this music mad city!!!

I stayed at this hotel on the night of 18/07/2026, around midnight, and my experience was extremely disappointing and, in my opinion, unfair. I paid £194 for a very small room that had no TV, no meals included, and absolutely no facilities. Later, I found out that the actual price of the room was around £42, which raises serious concerns about the fairness and transparency of the amount I was charged. Moreover, the receptionist informed us that we could not pay directly (neither cash nor card), and that we were only allowed to book through Booking. This seems highly suspicious and unprofessional, as it limits the customer’s options and may conceal unjustified price differences. I believe I was misled and possibly scammed. I have photo and video evidence that clearly shows the real condition of the room. I am requesting a refund of the overcharged amount. If this issue is not resolved, I will proceed with a formal complaint to the relevant authorities and platforms. I do not recommend this hotel.

We booked for the central location - despite this we walked passed it as the entrance to the Malacuna is not clear.

Unfortunately, our stay was disappointing. Check-in took over 20 minutes due to a long queue of customers, 2 staff members at reception, one checking in customers the other watching. The Wi-Fi did not work. The bed was uncomfortable, and the room had very poor ventilation with a strong smell of mould. We requested a room change, but the second room had the same issue. Although it looked clean, the mouldy smell remained, so we decided to leave and book another hotel nearby. This was not during a heatwave, so the ventilation problem was especially disappointing. Overall, not the comfortable stay we expected. Staff where polite but unhelpful.

Nice location, really convenient to get around, quite close to the main train station and main district. Nice and quiet with good facilities. Close to everything good to do in Liverpool, and we had a great time exploring the city.

Room got quite hot in the day and into the evening. Other than that, no complaints and had a great time staying and in Liverpool.

Perfect location, close to the vity center, yet in a quiet area. Good, clean, spacious room and comfortable beds. Toilet and showers in the room.

Shower room could have a hook or two inside the shower cabin to hang a towel or clean clothes for a change after a shower. The plug in the socket by the bed kept falling «off» so I had to use the USB alternative to charge my devices. Other then that, value for money.

Le personnel était très sympathique et les chambres confortables. Les serviettes et les draps étaient changés souvent.

La cuisine, qui était censée être complètement utilisable, était dans un état de saleté absolument repoussant. Les deux fours, micro-ondes, frigos et la bouilloire étaient dégoûtants. Les plaques n'étaient pas utilisables, et il n'y avait ni assiettes ni couverts. Il n'y avait aucuns espaces communs excepté le hall pouvi de quelques canapés. Nous avons aussi eu des problèmes de salle de bain et n'avons pas eu d'eau chaude pendant la moitié de notre séjour.

Everything else! Booked a hotel only to arrive at a hostel! For the price paid it was absolutely ridiculous. Turns out that the owner has changed hands every couple of years as they are trying to downgrade to a hostel, well, you have succeeded! Advised a continental breakfast was on offer downstairs, as breakfast included, I don't class a cup of coffee and a porridge pot as continental!! Rooms were absolutely roasting, no air conditioning, 76 rooms with 16 portable fans! No space to move, nowhere to unpack and hang clothes, couldn't even get a case passed the bottom of the bed. Every other hotel booked as Foo Fighters gig was on, which my friend & I were going to on the Saturday so we literally had no choice but to stay. Have tried several times to contact Booking.com with no luck, I wonder why that is?! Nothing like what the website states, boujy hotel with quirky art. Staff couldn't give a sh*t. Not to mention the mess outside littered with cigarette ends and empty cans, oh and I forgot to mention the rats seen outside as well....

Room exceptionally clean, comfy beds and we loved the vibe of the place. Staff lovely, my friend was delayed and I'd be flying from 4am so they got me checked in early so I could rest before the gig. Shower was excellent hungover the next morning lol

The room needs air con or fans at a minimum, the heat in the bedroom was borderline unbearable (we were relieved we missed the heat the week before) and the window open barely let a breeze through - I know it can't be helped (im from NI and wouldn't expect air con) but summers are only going to get warmer unfortunately! If staying in future I'd bring my own which isn't ideal.

The bathroom was big, almost bigger than the room itself. Location is also quite central which is good as you can walk to city center and docks. Was fairly clean as well so no complaints there. Quite quiet, but not sure if it was by design or not too many people in it.

Rooms are small and there is no Air con or any sort of ventilation, window opens for 10cm into a wall. When we went, it was 30+ degrees outside which made the room into an oven. An overpriced oven as well at more than 100£ per night. It was the worst experience in a hotel I ever had.

Very cramped room no air it was very hot and stuffy pillows wear really hard and very uncomfortable mattress rock solid but you get what you pay for bathroom was big and loads of room
