Breakfast is pricy ,25.00 per person
Room and bed were quite small considering the cost of the room.
Comfort, robes and bottled water are nice touches
AC noisy and too close to the bed
The bathroom was dirty. The clerk wiped the floor but the room needed a cleaning. The food was Ok, not great. Why is it so hard to get a queen or king bed?
Breakfast was excellent - good portions and price.
Dinner was on the pricey side so only ate there one night
Location is very central and easy to walk to restaurants, theatres and beautiful neighbourhoods. Room was clean. Front desk staff were compassionate about our situation but could not switch our room to something better as they were fully booked.
So disappointed in the room we were given. Tiny! Because we used booking.com the hotel gave us a room that does not even appear on the hotel's website. I was not even aware that the hotel had a "Standard Queen" room option (Room 206) which apparently is what we booked. I had stayed at this hotel several times in the past and was always pleased. This time the room was tiny, the bed was not a queen size, it was in poor condition with a trough down the middle, there were no decent chairs to sit on (the two looked like old metal dining room chairs repurposed from their banquet hall), and the bathroom was tiny, had no counter to place a make-up bag and only had a shower. Is this standard practice that when you place a reservation through booking.com a hotel is allowed to give you a room that you did not know even existed?
The location and the on-site free parking.
The staff and the room facilities.
The facilities are starting to need an upgrade
We had a one night stay while in Stratford to see a play. While the room decor was a little dated, it was large and clean. All staff we interacted with were very friendly and helpful.
Decor was dated. Lobby was small. It was pouring rain out when we and about 10 others arrived so it made for close quarters. The water at the refreshment stand in the lobby was not hot for tea. Tea dejections were great.
we arrived with our booking.com reservation in hand. They said they had no record of it and we had to sort it out with booking.com. they took NO responsibility - I later found I had earlier email exchanges directly between me and the Parlour relating to that reservation. They (desk clerk AND manager) gave us NO help in finding another place - until we asked for a suggestion. They abandoned us. And we are repeat visitors. Abysmal reaction on their part. We barely made it to our play, even though we were 1.5 hours early.
I liked the decor of the restaurant and the rooms, though others may say that the rooms are a bit old fashioned in their styling
1. Location was perfect and everything was walking distance 👌 2. Day staff exceeded expectations and super informative 3. Rooms were clean and comfortable 4. Bathroom hygiene products provided were good quality and towels were good quality 5. Loved the free parking on the premises 6. Loved the outside patio
Night staff were not as familiar with the surrounding area after hours and what is available for food. We managed on our own and found a place just down the road
Location.
Location, cleanliness
Only had one elevator and it was slow
The staff were happy and helpful. The room was clean and very comfortable. The food was excellent. We had shuttle to and from theater which was wonderful. I cant wait to book again with them next year!
Can't think of a thing!
location was good. bar and restaurant were good, but did not stay open long enough
room was not clean. bottle top was under end table. bathroom was dirty, white powder under the sink and other dirt behind the door
French onion soup & chicken entrees were delicious. Two lights in room didn't work initially but front desk got the problem rectified on our timetable. Room size was a bit tight but had marvelous TV. Very quiet & central location with bus service to Shakespearian Festival
Very cold in public spaces. Menu choices for Breakfast & dinner were limited. Breakfast portions were too large, service was slow since only four tables in the restaurant were occupied. Limited plugs for electronics
It was expensive and no breakfast included
The hotel is a very centrally located, lovely building and the room was cute. The amenities in the room were nice also, including a Nespresso machine and nice smelling soap, body cream and makeup remover. They put a rose on our bed as a turn down service! The people working the check in desk were very friendly and helpful.
dinner
Great location
Bathroom was a bit small.
Excellent location right in downtown. We were going to a show at The Bunker, which was right across the street. (Though I also see in their guest book that they offer free shuttle service to the Festival Theatre if you're attending a play there). The room was very clean, and the staff were pleasant.
Plug in air freshener in the bathroom. We unplugged it right away and sealed it in a plastic bag. With so many people these days who have scent sensitivities (like us) I was surprised they still used a plug in. Way too strong.
Charming place with style. The rose on the pillow at turndown is an example.
loved the room. nice chairs and a table to play games on. Shuttle service was a great surprise and the reason we wouls rebook.
Jacuzzi? too big and hard to access for over 70 group.
Room, location, restaurant and staff were great! The shuttle-van service to performance venues was appreciated, especially for evening shows.
I would have like a Keurig-style pod coffeemaker as well as the Nespresso that was provided.
excellent choices very good
not a thing
Trivago
Nothing
Good staff - restaurant was good Our room was large and bed very comfortable and good parking and location
The shower was not good but otherwise everything good
Loved the location, the onsite restaurant is quality and convenient. Highly recommend for elderly or mobility limited travelers.
The pillows were a bit too big, and there was a bit of yellowing in the tub. Otherwise can't recommend the place highly enough. Perfect location and made everything easy.
The aesthetic of the place for the price was the best! Got to feel fancy without killing my credit card
The water softener made it hard to wash clean. Took a lot to get soap off my hands.
Great stuff, great cleanliness, great food and great location.
Room furniture is a bit old and outdated.
Very well cared for, large rooms. Comfortable
The location was within easy walking distance of everything and a shuttle service was available to get to the Festival theatre. Exceptionally friendly service and a good breakfast. We will stay there again.
Very friendly, helpful desk staff! Our room was very cosy, and close to downtown and the theaters! We’ll stay again ❤️
Clean room. Text from office asking if we needed anything was easier than going down to front desk
There was a coffee/ tea station in the lobby. But was only for breakfast. Disappointed that we could not have a coffee or tea at any time. I would expect this to be a 24 hr perk. Doesn't cost a lot to offer to payrons
Professionalità, cortesia dello staff comodità dell’alloggio
Orari per ristorante molto ridotti
Staff was very friendly and accommodating. We even got an upgrade at no extra charge.
I wished there was a microwave in the room or somewhere to use..
I loved the vintage vibe of this historic property! It was very clean, comfortable beds, nice room amenities and a large tv. All the staff we dealt with were very friendly and helpful with our needs. The fact that this place is dog friendly and doesn’t charge an arm and leg for the pet fee is amazing 😊😊. Would definitely stay here again. And no, it doesn’t smell like dogs. It was nice and clean.
Great location, excellent restaurant, staff is very helpful and responsive, I would definitely return.
Ontbijt was goed, tweepersoonsbed bed was prima maar wel wat smal🫣

The location was ideal.
There was mold on ceiling. The fire alarm went off at 11pm and there was no communication during or afterward. The sound was ear damagingly loud. Housekeeping did not clean room when we put the notice on door knob. The excuse was that there was a dog inside but the housekeeper saw us leave with the dog... we said good morning as we left at 9am and didn't return until 2:30pm. This is not the first hotel we've stayed at with a dog. We travel all the time. Very poor customer service. Shabby place.
The location was fantastic for a wedding at Grayson Mills.
The room was incredibly small and the bathroom was difficult to get ready in since it was a standalone sink without a counter.
Great location and clean. Good food but our room was very small.
Size of room, too small
Location, bath tub, TV.
The female employee. Hockey players!! Very disrespectful. My husband and I are going through hard times and needed a night away and the kids and parents were absolutely awful we were exhausted from lack of sleep. Asked for a late check out due to that and the grumpy female employee only gave us an extra half hour. It wasnt a great stay. We came to this hotel for peace and we did not get it. And the employee was very grumpy no eye contact etc. We paid good money to stay there and get away just for one night to decompress. We should have gone elsewhere.
Great location and comfortable rooms
The excessive incidental ( room security deposit) amount of $150 per night that's put on your credit card when you check in!! That's crazy for that area and should really be changed to maybe $150 for the entire stay and not nightly... really only downfall of staying in this hotel.
Fine…had to hunt for the jam though.
No need for excessive ‘holding’ on the credit card.
The food was very good. The staff were all wonderful. Bathroom well appointed and very clean. Location was fantastic.
Meal prices were on the high side b
Great atmosphere with lots of character.
The bed and pillows were uncomfortable. Bed too soft and pillows too large and stiff.
Located right downtown walking distance to most things and festival theatres
Nothing really great value for money
Walking distance to shops and the down town area
It was great
Location was great and we got the same room we had last year for the Blackcreek Technologies Christmas Party.
The room is nice, but is starting to show its age and needs to be re-vamped. For example: there are no shelves in the bathroom to put your items any more... you can see the holes in the wall where a shelf used to be. There is no where to hang the towels in the bathroom except behind the toilet and on the shower... no hooks... it would be nice if there were a couple hooks by the jacuzzi for the 2 robes to hang on and a place to hang the towels. Out Christmas party ended just before 10 pm, so we were going to go over and drink at your bar for a while... but it closes really early at 10 pm... We spent lots of money at a bar close by, but we were hoping to just stay in the hotel.
Good and convenient location.
To include breakfast.
Location ,downtown,. Park and walk. We always enjoy the Parlor restaurant. Best smash burgers. Friendly staff
Excellent location, walk to both Avon Theatre and restaurants
We stayed 2 separate times , two weeks apart. The first room, second floor : - very small washroom, low toilet and small vanity. Room small, no glasses water, no fridge, express cups not matching saucers so slid around, one espresso pod had already been used. Heater noisy all night. No comfy chair. When we arrived, couldn’t parking lot was full so had to pay for parking until theatre crowd left the parking lot. 2 weeks later, same room style on 3rd floor: larger room, large and new bathroom with whirlpool tub, glasses and ice bucket, comfy chair to watch TV and coffee bar, fridge. Everything seemed nicer. Turned off heater overnight so noise wouldn’t disturb, but there a constant background noise that continued all night. So even though the room was much nicer, didn’t sleep well because of the background noise. Next day, overnight snow prevented kitchen staff from coming in so restaurant was closed. No sign on door indicating closure and information about where to get breakfast.
Parking and restaurant attachrd
I love the vintage & quaintness of the hotel I also love the restaurant in the hotel
The hotel was great! Staff was friendly and the bed was comfortable.
Service in the restaurant was bad. While we will likely return to the hotel we won’t return to the restaurant.
Restaurant was great and food amazing. Staff was fabulous. Hotel had great character.
The pillows
Location
Room was very tight, although cute.
Location is great for theater goes
Bar needs to be open till midnight for after theater drink
Location Clean
Interior decor Stuffy smell in room Flimsy loose toilet seat One tiny window in room Dark unappealing dining room
location excellent, polite staff, clean bathroom dated.
better bathroom tub
Location is perfect to take in the shows and fun shopping.
We were put in a room that of course had no room but worst then that, the roof vents were right outside our window. We complained but the desk clerk just giggled at us without any care, advice or apologies.
Did not eat breakfast
The hotel seemed tired. Dusty furniture, old carpeting, needs a refresh
Great location. This hotel was previously part of the Vintage Hotel Group but is now an a Ascend hotel. Standards were not as expected. Shuttle to theatre was very helpful for disabled person. Very good shuttle service.
Bathroom in Premium Room very small. Shower not clean. TV channels minimum. One bathrobe in King size room ?
Good in general but restaurant was complete disappointment as food was cold and seemed to be cooked the day before.
the customer service was perfect! thank you guys! I will be back
No sitting areas
Perfect location and appreciate the free parking .
Room, cleanliness, staff, service, location- all excellent. Only thing that was annoying was the air conditioning unit in the room (noisy so couldn’t keep the fan running all night for air flow). A bit noisy outside to keep the window open. Otherwise, great spot.
The look to the Avon Theatre was excellent.
The king suite is very dated and the bathroom is very much in need of a serious update. In order to access the shower, one must step over a 1-2’ foot tub making the climb dangerous to say the least. The water pressure is low to almost nothing. I expected much more for the price I paid for the room.
Very pleasant.
