Imperial Hotel Tenby

We stayed in a Deluxe Double Room with a sea view. The room itself was good, the recent renovations to the rooms are good. Upon arrival we needed to change rooms due to accessibility issues, the staff were very helpful and managed to find us a ground floor room. (Upstairs rooms all involve stairs because the levels vary so much.) Overall the staff were very helpful, but clearly tired and working long hours without any management support.

The poor quality breakfast, mostly the cheapest ingredients. It's self service for everything except cooked breakfast. Guests often needed to ask staff to restock as no member of staff had responsibility for checking nothing had run out. The layout meant most guests were seated 5 steps down in the dining room from where the buffet was placed, so lots of trips up and down needed. Saturday afternoons are a nightmare, 12.00 -6.00pm Tenby Rocks the DJ session on the terrace is very very loud, best avoided, there's nowhere in the hotel which isn't affected by the loud music. In fact weekends probably best avoided as prices considerably higher, our room on B & B deal was £256 on Friday, £336 on Saturday and £356 on Sunday.

Clean, well furnished, view over sea, by old town , friendly staff We had been put off by the photos on the internet but it was the last place with a room. We were therefore surprised how nice it was!

The evening meal on arrival wasn’t great after a 6.5 hour journey that should have taken 3 hours. Chef seemed to love deep fried food which wasn’t to our taste. The room was not as described on booking.com. Very small & not like the picture. No fridge as in picture. Not the superior room that we paid more for. Dirty windows all over hotel.

The location is excellent. The hotel has undergone a really good refurbishment and it is dog friendly.

Good location right on the sea front. A few minutes walk from the main st but far enough away to feel quiet. Nice views overlooking the sea. Comfy rooms, nicely decorated.

Expensive for what you get, even in high season. Outdoor patio was a little sad and unkept looking which is unfortunate given the amazing location. Very small portion of eggs and salmon for breakfast which was not. Included in the room rate.

It’s a walk to the car park, but totally worth it!

The rooms have been refurbished. Much better than the past. Beds are not the most comfortable. Our room had air conditioning which is a big plus, your paying for the location this aint the Savoy its on a par with any good local B&B or independent hotel.

The food service was utterly rubbish, sorry to be blunt. The restaurant either had no staff or no chefs. Over an hour each morning for breakfast to arrive and when it did it's quite possibly the most rubbish plate of breakfast you will ever get. Honestly the premier inn buffet is a massive win over this. Don't pay for breakfast included go out into the town and get fed properly. This is not just us, all the customers were talking to each other comparing how long they had been sat waiting and then laughing at the food coming out. Dinner not much better.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was on the 1st/2nd floor with a sea view we paid for which was lovely. We had a big bay window with two chairs which overlooked the patio and the beach. The air con worked well and we were provided with water daily and tea and coffee Modern bathroom with shower

The breakfast could be improved with choice, location of coffee machine (up a corner) and some days the quality of cooked breakfast was better than others. For the money paid I thought it could be better. Within the bathroom the floor had two cracked tiles which moved which I reported to reception At times unmanned bar led to slow service. Patio very busy on Saturday which was nice but music for me personally was too loud

Perfekte Lage direkt am Strand und absolut zentral. Zimmer zwar nicht topmodern, aber gut in Schuss. Gutes Frühstück, schöne Terrasse direkt über der Bucht. Sehr Freundliches Personal.

Der Lift ist recht zickig und gibt schnell an überladen zu sein, obwohl er eigentlich gut funktionieren würde.

Frequent guest here and the rooms were comfortable and clean. Are in the restaurant in the evening for the first time and the food was excellent and good value for money compared with other restaurants in town

The best feature of the hotel is their sun terrace but we're denied access to it

We ate dinner in the hotel once. It was okay. The fish was good, but the veg was not great.

The room was lovely, The location is absolutely fantastic. The views of the sea from our room and the bar terrace downstairs were wonderful. The staff were really helpful. There was really great air conditioning in the room. The bedding was lovely and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was compact but perfectly nice and the toiletries smelt great!. All in all the room was faultless

The only minor criticism would be the plastic plants cheapen the hotel which otherwise is so beautiful.

The Location was ideal couldn't ask for any better. The staff were just great very welcoming.

The Lift very small for a big hotel. Needs uplift on the decor inside. I was a little surprised there was no little touches in our room. Complimentary minuture toothbrush , toothpaste just small things. We have stayed in beautiful hotels that cost significantly less. With these added little extras. Just makes your guest feel a little special.

It is in a superb location with everything within easy walk. Parking is close by.

On arrival it was clear that the toilet was unclean. The bathroom was incredibly hot, I know the weather was hot, but this was crazy. We were in room 502 which had damp alongside the bed wall. Shower gel never refilled despite requesting. A big asset should be the terrace but you are forced to order and pay by QR. We succeeded once but no drinks arrived. Next time we tried to order at the bar but told no.

Wasn't a fan of the lift very small and claustrophobic (be prepared to take the stairs if that bothers you) not really a fault of the hotel just a quirk of the building.

It says it is a pet friendly hotel but it is really just dog friendly. They would not let me leave my cat in the room when we went out. I understand it is incase of fire but usually at other hotels we have signed a waiver.

Didn’t like the idea of the placement of the booking in as it was too noisy and couldn’t hear what you was saying to each other, there was a DJ there from 12-6 otherwise nice little getaway.

The sea view overlooking the harbour was just amazing ! Nothing like an early morning cuppa from your room overlooking the harbour.

The air con in the room was broke. The hotel gave us a small fan. It was unbearable in that room and had a very uncomfortable night sleep. Checked out early for fresh air!

When checking out we were charged for a meal we didn't have, and even said we hadn't paid our bill to stay at the hotel. This was sorted out quickly. Also the lift is very small.

Excellent varied breakfasts.Wonderful variety of fresh food, fantastic coffee and superb staff catering to all our needs.

If our A/C in our room was working better it would have made our stay most comfortable. Room 409 was our room.

The view from our bedroom of the sea was breathtaking. The staff could not have been more friendly and we were made to feel very welcome with our cockerpoo Wilf.

Parking was an issue but as the hotel is built into the city wall there wasn’t anything that can be done about this.

The room was excellent with superb views over the sea. The Smeg fridge in our room was a bonus and all fittings were to a very high standard. The breakfasts were good and we loved Tenby.

There was a hen party on Saturday afternoon with a DJ playing very loud music - we had to leave the hotel for 3 hours and find somewhere quieter!

Excellent location, right on the beachfront (Castle Beach). You can walk into the town within a matter of minutes. Five arches car park is a couple minutes walk away, with a Morrisons Daily convenience store next door to the car park. We booked a sea view room which was well worth the cost for the view. The room was also a good size and the bed was comfortable. Restaurant/bar/reception staff were very friendly.

The cleanliness of the room, and the room cleaning service were very poor. The bathroom had hairs around the edges of the room on the floor. The extractor fan in the bathroom was also full of dust, looked as if it had never been cleaned. There was a layer of dust across the skirting. We left a sign or for the room to be cleaned each day of our three night stay. We’d come back to a room that hadn’t been vacuumed and bedding had not been replaced either. It seemed as if only towels are replaced and the coffee/tea/cups were replaced and that’s all.

Renervation to the bedroom was good. Lovely friendly welcoming staff QR code made ordering drinks easy

Housekeeping needs to improve as my shower gel was empty Outside terrace drastically needs modernising ie metal railings needs replacing with glass to fully enjoy the view. Also floor covering on outdoor terrace has big black spongy tiles, makes you feel like your in children's playground. Chair pads/cushions would be good on rattan terrace furniture

If you wanted to have a drink on the patio you could not order at the bar you had to go and use the QR code on your table but the internet connection did not work, when explained this issue to staff they said we still could not order at the bar and that they would come out to us. They did but then we could not pay as there was no internet connection so had to walk to the bar to pay. All seemed very bizarre and a complicated system that doesn’t work. Staff were lovely and you could see they were frustrated with the silly system too!

The hotel is perfectly located and the view is amazing. The staff are so friendly and happy to help. We stayed with a baby and 2 dogs in our party and had a wonderful time. We ate and drank in the hotel twice and had great meals

Slow lift

We enjoyed our one night stay. The place looks lovely on arrival. Was a slight fousty smell in the lobby by the lift area. Smelt a little of wet carpet. Not a problem for us but just a observation. Unsure where to go to check in. The reception being tucked behind that door in bar was confusing, and the man who.was on the desk didn't say much when we arrived. Check in.was a little flat tbh, the man didn't have much to say.to welcome us on our stay which we have received in other hotels. The hotel is very beautiful, room was pleasant. Shower is a little tight and the water does make a mess all over the floor. Shower screen could.be a little longer to stop floor getting soaked. Breakfast was very nice, staff were very friendly in the morning and check out with the lady on reception was easy. All in all nice stay.and would come back.

Really nice hotel verry clean, staff were friendly and helpful. Quirky bar with its verry own Dj. We both really enjoyed the afternoon entertainment in the bar from the Dj. Will be retuning again soon 🙂

The staff. They were all exceptional and so friendly. We mainly had Tracey, Ian, Molly and Keith looking after us. Everything is within walking distance or you can relax in the bar and on sun terrace overlooking the beautiful bay. I have to say that the food was delicious. I had the Pembrokeshire broth and I can safely say it was the best thing I'd tasted. It was packed with seafood. My husband had the cod loin and he thoroughly enjoyed it. Breakfast was also good. The room was big enough for us and we had a balcony overlooking the sea and air conditioning. Even the towels are big enough, which is rare these days. I would highly recommend and we will certainly be back. A huge thankyou to everyone as there were many staff we didn't see, like the chefs, housekeeping and management.

The Location was exceptional with amazing views. The renovated rooms were clean , modern and very comfortab;e. The Staff were so welcoming, attentive and friendly, The Food was delicious.

Room was beautiful with views directly across to Caldey Island spotlessly clean. Staff were fabulous nothing was too much trouble.Breakfast was lovely with a good choice to suit everyone.

We were impressed with the improvements since our last visit to this hotel. A very pleasant stay. Excellent room and bathroom. All top quality fittings. A lovely breakfast. All staff friendly and helpful. It would be nice to see the private beach access path reinstated.

It seemed a shame that it was thought necessary to charge the compulsory (refundable) deposit on arrival. Ensure that you arrange the refund before leaving.

Had to pay extra for breakfast not told before booking. It seems when you book anywhere you book they don't let you know until you pay first. + evening meal absolutely lovely except for roast beef tougher than shoe leather.had to leave it on plat.
