The room carpet was clean but had spots looked like dirt parts of the carpet and outside the front to be thoroughly cleaned with no spots. I pointed it out to staff. They agreed it needs deep cleaned. Looks bad for s 3/4 * hotel. Poor international hotel.

I had a pleasant stay during my business trip. The hotel was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Ms. Nia at reception - her warm smile, clear explanations, and handwritten coffee recommendations while I waited for check-in really stood out.

The only downside was the breakfast. The options were limited, and the layout was a bit confusing (the egg station was outside, which wasn’t obvious at first). The restaurant staff were polite, but the food felt repetitive.

We were here for our vacation. We had an excellent services, every staff were very helpful, patient and approachable. They go above and beyond to give excellent service. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

I chose this hotel because I trust the IHG brand and usually associate it with consistent service standards. Unfortunately, this stay did not fully reflect that expectation. From the beginning, I noticed that room cleanliness—especially the bed sheets—needed more attention. Cleanliness is a basic standard, and it’s disappointing when that fundamental aspect falls short. Dining was another area that needs improvement. The restaurant’s food and coffee were below what I would expect from an IHG property. For breakfast, I don’t need a huge variety, but quality matters. Simple essentials like butter for toast were not available (only margarine), and condiments were placed in open jars, which made me question the hygiene standards. These may seem like small details, but they significantly shape the guest experience. Service consistency was also an issue. Some staff members seemed unfamiliar with hotel events or facilities, which made it difficult to get clear information. At the restaurant cashier, the interaction during payment felt unwelcoming, as “not yet, not yet” was repeatedly said while operating the EDC machine. It gave the impression of a lack of basic hospitality training. That said, not everything was negative. Several staff members were genuinely friendly and helpful, and I truly appreciate their warmth. The shower pressure was excellent, and the bed and mattress were very comfortable, allowing me to rest well. Overall, this stay felt more like a test of patience than the relaxing experience I usually associate with IHG. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and works toward improving consistency and quality, as the property clearly has potential.

1st of all i already requested my room with my father in law 1 room far. nana said okay on booking.com chat. i requested 2 weeks earlier. when i came over the lady said not ready yet. she gave me different rooms. she was arrogant rude. lol this is my 1st and the last i come. ive been to alot of holiday inn express. singapore and malaysia. but in surabaya totally down fall. its not 4 star to me its like 2 stars. even 3 stars hotel in surabaya way better. and the housekeeping dont even changed new bedsheets bro, totally disgusting. KAMPI way better. horrible hotel i swear 1st and the last. breakfast were horrible alot of cockroach at the bread side of table. omg damn disgusting

The overall stay is good, the staffs are friendly and accomodating, the service is good, breakfast great. It just a tiny details like the pillows I think is a bit overdue, the shower head that keep falling down when I was showering. I choose this because it close to my parent house and there are arrays of choice foods around the hotel. Close to BG junction, TP and Tunjungan street.

My stay at Holiday Inn Express Surabaya was really enjoyable. The hotel has a convenient location, not too far from shopping and dining spots, which makes it easy to get around. The front desk team welcomed me warmly and check-in was smooth. I liked the room — simple but very comfortable, with everything I needed for a short stay, including reliable Wi-Fi and a good shower. The bed was soft and gave me a great night’s sleep. Breakfast offered a decent variety, and I appreciated that the dining area was kept clean and organized. What stood out most was the friendly service and overall efficiency of the hotel. For the price, I think it’s a very good option in Surabaya. I would happily stay here again

I recently stayed at Holiday Inn Express Surabaya for around 3 days, and overall, it was a pleasant and memorable experience. First of all, I truly appreciate how helpful and kind the staff were. I had booked the room under my dad’s name, but since we were still overseas and only my mom had arrived in Surabaya earlier, I was worried she wouldn’t be able to check in. Thankfully, after calling and messaging the hotel via WhatsApp to explain the situation, the staff took note of it and kindly allowed my mom to check in first. This small gesture meant a lot to me, and I’m very grateful. We also really appreciated the hotel’s partnership with Golden Bird for airport pickup — it made our arrival smooth and convenient. However, there was one moment before our stay that left us a bit confused. One evening, we called the hotel to ask about transportation, and the receptionist (a female voice) said there was no transport available and told us to contact the taxi company directly. It felt like she was just trying to avoid helping us, which was disappointing. Even more confusing, when we called the number she gave, it turned out to be a different hotel. We tried to stay positive, thinking maybe she was just tired or having a bad day. The next morning, we called again and spoke to a different receptionist (also female, but a different voice), and she was very helpful and arranged transportation for us. We felt relieved and happy to receive the proper assistance. Later, when our flight was delayed overseas, we contacted the hotel again via WhatsApp to reschedule the airport pickup time and once again, they were very accommodating and helped us without issue. While this wasn’t a big problem for us (we’re not the type to complain easily), I do think management should pay attention to situations like this. Sometimes one staff member’s poor attitude can damage the hotel’s overall reputation, even when the rest of the team is doing their best to keep it up. I’m sharing this not to criticize harshly, but because I care — Holiday Inn Express Surabaya holds many memories for me, and I want to see it continue to thrive. As for the facilities: The room was clean and nice. My family appreciated being placed on a higher floor we hope to get a city view next time. When I had a problem with the room, the staff responded quickly and moved me to another one, which I appreciated. The TV channels need improvement — most were broken or not working well, and it was hard to find something to watch. Breakfast was delicious, but I do hope there will be more variety in the future. It would also be helpful if each room could be given two access cards instead of one. It can be inconvenient when someone needs to go downstairs and the others are left waiting to swap cards. Two years ago, I stayed at this hotel for a week, and I could feel the warmth and freshness of the place. Coming back after two years, something about that warm feeling felt a bit faded. I can’t quite say what’s missing, but I truly hope that next time if God allows me to return. I’ll feel that warmth again. Still, kudos to all the hardworking staff — from the front desk, housekeeping, kitchen, F&B attendants, to security. Thank you all for your service and care. And once again, thank you for helping with my mom’s early check-in. It may have seemed like a small thing, but it meant the world to me.

The hotel is value for money. But I have seen some things in rooms are not suitable for hotel holiday inn.

Everything is fine accept the bath towels. Please immediately Change the towels it’s looks like 2 years old and it’s pure white towels. I think you have to check the laundry where you wash your towels? The water PH levels is not up to the standards. The detergent they use to wash the towels must check.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Surabaya Centerpoint starting on 21 April 2025 and had another excellent experience. The check-in process was smooth, and the staff were friendly and efficient throughout my stay. The bed was super comfortable and the room was perfectly quiet—no noise at all, which really helped me relax after a long day. I also want to highlight the friendliness of the team, especially Ms. Endini at the restaurant during breakfast time—she was exceptionally welcoming and attentive. Additionally, I truly appreciate that my previous issue was resolved. This time, the food I ordered was fully attended to by the security team, which made me feel much more secure and cared for. Big thanks to Mr. Ade Rizky Fajar for ensuring this improvement and for the excellent coordination—it truly made a difference in my experience. The room was clean, the atmosphere was calm, and the location remains very convenient for my business needs. I would definitely stay here again!

I went to Surabaya with a couple of my friends to enjoy the local delicacies and was very impressed with the service provided by the hotel staffs. I'm very satisfied with the service given to me by Endini when I was having breakfast at the coffeehouse. Endini was very attentive towards my needs and even went the extra mile with her hospitality skills, which I truly appreciate. I felt very welcomed at the hotel and will definitely come back for a second time.

No changing room because hotel was on busy week. Breakfast were awesomeeee. The resto even prepared us 'take away' brealfast ad we checked out during early hour of the morning (2 AM).
