Location loveky
£7.50 for parking until midday next day. Until 2/3pm would have been a useful and welcome touch.
Friendly
Too warm in bed room
Polite and curtious staff going extra mile
Noise from traffic going past room no drawers in room
It was clean inside and the location was very good.
That I needed to use my credit card for pre authorisation when I have already paid in full in advance before arriving. They have asked me to pay £25 if I was coming 30 minutes before checking time. The car park was extra charge. As soon as you walked into the hotel you where greeted by a squad of dogs. Okay it is a dog friendly hotel but I was not thinking I would have be a spa hotel for dogs and not for people. As soon as you walked in there were treats and water for dogs and not for people. The receptionist I don't think knew how to count as we needed to ask in 7 days stay to active the card 5 times. We travel quite a lot and never happened to us. Breakfast is even worst. We had every day breakfast and everyday they asked us if we have had breakfast with them before. I thought that the staff had memories loss, especially that they have seen us every day and different time of the day.
I lost my credit card and realised when I got home. Staff went out of their way to look for it, found it and kept it safe. They genuinely cared about the predicament that this cause for me and were really supportive and kind. Thank you
Staff really made it, very friendly and helpful
Rooms are tired and could do with some updating. Bed was very hard
Very clean and staff very friendly a d helps
Nothing
We like the hospitality at the Carlton Hotel, and we always ask for a room near to a lift and parking outside, although the Hotel parking has an additional charge per night stayed. The location is ideal as it is near to the seafront just over the road, and near to the shopping centre at Blackpool. If you don't wish to travel by car, there is a tram stop in front of the Hotel. Our room, although on the small size was comfortable and clean, and close to a lift. We were happy about the price of the accommodation, as breakfast was included, and the tables are situated by spacious windows with sea views. There is also a lovely outside terrace where there are tables and chairs provided for guests to enjoy sitting outside. The meals are nicely presented and cooked well, and there is a varied menu including a Specials Menu of the day. We would recommend this accommodation.
There was nothing significant, a small issue with the plumbing, that is the water in the bathroom basin took a long time to drain, but this issue was reported to the staff for attention.
Lovely room, food was great, staff friendly and approachable. Tram stop pretty much on the doorstep, as well as access to the beach. Already recommended to friends and family.
No complaints, my 7 year old also loved the place and didn't want to leave.
Fast and efficient and perfect for a tram stop
The high backed chairs in lobby need to be smaller backed
View. Parking. Location by trams. Helpfull staff. Lovely room clean. Bathroom looked new. Great beds. Even borrowed us bucket and spade. Breakfast exceptional.. Loved that we had bath robes
Loved it all. Had a bit of a wait for someone to come to reception. It was very busy
Everything was good
Nothing
The staff were extremely helpful and polite, with a special mention for John who was on Reception and in the bar area. He is a credit to the Company, his kindness and caring attitide was brilliant.
The hotel is in need of TLC and certainly more attention to detail, requiring refurbishment.
Vile hotel, room covered in sand flies, whilst I appreciate it’s a problem due to weather, hotel refused to spray the room and my young daughter had to sleep on the floor. We were moved after the first night but hotel refused to refund for our first nights stay. Flies were all over the bed and even coming up from the toilet.
Nice enough clean but could do with a paint
Dont like dogs staying in hotel rooms
The hotel is located close enough to the city centre, piers and the tower attractions that they can be walked to within 5 - 10 mins but far enough away that there isn't constant noise from traffic and people outside, it is also ideally situated across from a tram stop, meaning those unable to walk longer distances or for attractions further away like the pleasure beach, you can simply cross the road and catch a tram. Staff were friendly, and the room was clean and comfortable with complimentary tea and coffee, some biscuits and a bottle of water. , we paid extra for a room with a sea view, and it didn't disappoint... The view of the north beach and north pier were stunning. I would definitely consider staying here again. In terms of value for money, given the location I think the price is not too unreasonable.
My only criticisms are; Parking is charged at £7.50 per day, however parking spaces are not guaranteed so after arrival it's a risk moving the car, as you may not get a space upon returning, however this is purely an observation as I didn't move the car during our stay. While the room was clean and comfortable, the bathroom was a little tired looking and would benefit from a refit. Our tap for selecting the bath tap did not work meaning when you took a shower, water also came out the bath tap, not a huge issue, but highlights why the bathroom seemed in need of some work. Also no electrical sockets near the top of the bed/bedside tables to charge phones, they had to be plugged in at the opposite side of the room, again not a huge issue, but still slightly inconvenient for setting alarms
The staff were friendly and so helpful and with being dog friendly it was fantastic to be able to sit down and eat a meal with our puppy it was just a great experience for her.
Booking.com hid daily £7.50 parking Charge
Location of hotel is great for Tram and illuminations, also dog friendly. Staff are very friendly and helpful
Mattress was a bit to soft for me personal choice

Room was lovely, breakfast was great. Hotel was clean and staff lovely.
I hated having to pay a security deposit on arrival. No non slip mat in shower, very dangerous with glass door.

Location is perfect for us. Staff friendly as always.
We were told 2 years ago the hotel was having an upgrade starting at the top and working down. Well they must be starting at the top of the Blackpool tower as nothing has changed at all from what I could see the corridor carpet is tread bare !!
Room was big lovely bathroom and sea view
More choice of Fresh fruit
Idéalement situé en bord de mer à 10min à pied du centre de la ville. Nous voyagions avec des enfants et des ados et Le personnel s’est plié en 4 pour nous faire passer un super séjour
Certaine chambre était un peu petite
Helpful staff etc clean
Really comfortable
Step going into bathroom
Great place to stay Room was good with large bathroom Comfortable bed Great breakfast 😋 Would stay again 😊
Location was very good with tram and bus stops outside the hotel also train station was nearby, breakfast good, staff were very friendly and helpful especially when we needed to request a different room this was dealt with very well, beds were comfy and room was clean.
Choice of marmite for your toast 😀
the whole place was very clean although looked a bit tired
as a disabled person getting around the door in the bathroom to get to the sink was not easy. perhaps you should try it . also the reading light on the headboard was loosely fitted. i reported it to reception at the time of noticing.
Was a lovely hotel with a great view of the sea, room was lovely and clean and bed was so comfortable I didn't want to get out haha Breakfast was buffet style and was delicious and hot. Will definitely be back and longer next time.
Clean
Room advertised as standard double, that is not true nothing like the advertised photos. Bed against the wall only one chair no bedside tables, to me this was a single room with a double bed squeezed in, sink that didn’t hold water! When checking with staff that we were in the right room they apologised and said all rooms on that floor were small.
Very nice hotel, handy tram stop right over the road
Our room on top floor quite small ( we had our dog) shower didn't work very well
Everything
The breakfast
The noise we endured all night and hardly got any sleep
No communication when I contacted them to say I couldn’t make it due to family emergency. No attempt to answer when I asked if I couldn’t possibly get a refund due to my circumstances very disappointing
Close proximity to centre, tram stop opposite hotel. Josh, who was on nights during our stay was fantastic, friendly, helpful & a genuinely lovely man, he should be told that he is brilliant at his job.
On arrival, the reception area was very welcoming, seating and bar area, looked very comfortable. Staff were also very pleasant and helpful. Parking was good though and we could leave our car safely. The evening meals were also very good and not expensive. I couldn’t fault the staff at this hotel but it definitely needs some TLC
Our room was very ‘tired’, the downstairs decoration did not reflect in our room. Definitely needs a major overhaul. Room was not hoovered before or during our stay, even though I mentioned it to reception staff. Bits and clumps of hair, not from us! Sea view was a bay window with a wall down the middle so half a window!
A great hotel. Lovely staff. Spotlessly clean . Lovely breakfast. Perfect location
Everything was great
Location
Was not very clean /got a meal list night was not very good poor value for money and quality room very small for a deluxe room not very clean little room to store clothes and room very cold asked to put heating on and was told they still class this as summer and would not put it on gave us a small heater for room which did not work we checked out a day early and booked a nother hotel as we were that disappointed
Breakfast was decent, food was hot and plentiful although some items could have been better quality, ie bacon, sausage and hash briwn
Could have had two chairs in the room to sit and have a drink or to do your make up
Staff were great
Room was dated, small, had stains on the wall. Bathroom was grim
The staff value their customers, they go all out heartily to deal problems that arise, try to accommodate all customers.

Breakfast Good but had to ask for table too be laid ask for bread coffee machine ran out
Lady in charge was Robotic not so friendly and looked overworked.
I like the position of the hotel. We purposely chose this hotel as it is dog friendly
It was a little too warm in the bedroom
10 min walk to town centre. Sea views
Bedrooms were functional but very tired. Shower was strong but temperature veered between hot and cold.
That is was near the seaside
The rooms were dirty, small room for a lot of money. Terrible smell of excrement
Staff very friendly and helpful, rooms very clean and comfortable and the food was very tasty
The only thing we didn’t like we the shower controls. Very difficult to get a comfortable steady flow of warm water without it going cold or being very hot
I stayed in Hilton hotels and this was better had best night sleep the room was spotless everything was so clean. Staff were lovely and so helpfully. The family rooms are massive. Breakfast was good too.We r coming back to stay again because we loved it so much.
Staff were helpful. Location nice walk from Blackpool.
Too many dogs, plus allowed in food areas.
Good accessible car park, reasonable price and good location to walk to the tower. Bedding and towels nice.
The rooms are is need of a deep clean, there is also a giant gap in the windows which meant the wind was howling and whistling through all night.
Nice clean room with iron in room
Reception staff
The staff were lovely. The food was great. Easy access to trams and buses. Bed was clean
The room was far too small. Very little storage space. There were chips in the wall. Lampshades didn't match. The windows were filthy The bathroom was not as clean as it should have been. The floor was grimey. The shower didn't work properly going from scalding hot to freezing cold. The extractor didn't work at all.
Room was excellent, plenty of space and big shower room. Good breakfast, staff were friendly
Nothing
Very dog friendly and comfy bed. Lovely bar and lounge.
Room slightly dated but clean.
It was clean room
Shower we're not working and no shower matt so I was slipping .in bath
The location was great, staff were friendly Bed was comfortable
The bathroom was very dated and MOLD on tile grout, looked like it needed a good clean. Stains in the bottom of the toilet. The bedroom looked nice, but the wooden head board had stains on it, I wouldn’t stay here again because of the standard of cleaning
Nothing, rooms were dirty, dusty & in need of a full refurbishment. Windows were black, furniture stained. Carpets need replacing.
The hotel needs full refurbishment. It's expensive for the quality of the room. We would not stay here again, rooms are very run down.
Close to tram stop
Was charged £5.50 for one bottle of San Miguel Hotel policy is to take a £50 deposit against breakages at the start of your holiday which is meant to go into "pending" in your bank account then drop out at the end if no breakages - in my case she charged me the £50 up front and I had to telephone the hotel after I got home to give her my card number so she could refund me - it then took another 3 days before the £50 came back into my bank account. I believe the hotel is outsourcing its cleaning duties - I saw two young men cleaning rooms. I reported my room kettle not clicking off when leaving the hotel. There was water hammer noise after flushing my toilet. Like the majority of hotels in Blackpool, the Carlton is old and tired and the service has dropped off somewhat over the last 30 years.
Das Personal war sehr freundlich. Das Frühstück war gut. Die Lage war sehr gut mit Tramhaltestelle über die Straße. Wir waren wirklich zufrieden.
Alles war gut.
It was really comfortable we had a great nights sleep. Loved having the option of bath and shower too. The room had everything we needed and the staff were really helpful.
Just small issues really and we would stay again - there are a few cosmetic repairs here and there. We had a crack in the wall near the window from which seemed to come a buzzing noise which didn’t stop (had to put the tv on to mask the noise). There was also a patch - looked damp / cracked on the odd shaped wall above my bed.
The location
One staff who was at the reception and he was being pretty rude
Room was lovely. Breakfast was excellent. Staff were lovely. Very helpful and friendly.
Drinks a bit expensive
Friendly staf Simple and clean bedroom Low price
Dated bathroom
Breakfast was good
Flys everywhere

Good location to the North pier and only a short walk if you miss the last tram on a night out.
I am being picky here, no black pudding or fried bread with the breakfast.
Very welcoming staff and beds are really comfortable and room was clean and well kept
Water in shower/bath was hard to work out how to regulate and I found that the breakfast wasn’t the best
Staff were very pleasant. Clean and tidy rooms
Slightly too far up from the central pier as we had two small children.
A bit slow at returning 50 pound deposit
Comfortable family room and super nice location with parking
Shower temperature is quite difficult to adjust
Good location. Generally quite clean.
The shower was annoying - either boiling or freezing and complicated controls. Changed temperature whilst in the shower. Some areas could do with some love.
Very comfortable and the staff was wonderful
Clean and comfortable
Liked the fact that you could take our furry babies with us. Liked the fact they the family rooms were adequate for our needs We will definitely rebook in the future.
We got charged a little more than what was advertised not sure why as we had paid individual for our dog and parking Big Thank you for making this clear regarding payments.

Good parking , walkable to all amenities. Lovely staff.
All great
Clean, excellent service, staff very polite and attentive
Wasn't keen on being in a disabled room
Everything was good
Midges covered the windows and sill also covering the beds wall and ceiling and been bitten by them. We were told they couldn't do anything about them and go buy some fly killer
Excellent options for Gluten Free Food
To many midges outside hotel
Hotel reception is nice, staff are friendly. Rooms on another hand are awful, cleaning staff are not monitored and supervisors are not preforming checks.
Room was extremely dirty, toothpaste on the mirror and floor from previous guest. Pubic hairs in the bath, shower curtain dirty, floor towel dirty left from previous guest and re hung for us, not acceptable. Silicone around bath mouldy and myself and children were discussed. Dirty disgusting fan in the room that had never been cleaned, luckily we did not need. Bedside tables covered with dust, wardrobe also dusty. Bed is not level so feet are higher than head when led down. Room layout is odd and made to sign a disclaimer about a step in the room into the bathroom on check in prior to even seeing it. Caused havoc with the kids and us parents, well all stubbed our toes badly and not ideal at all because your guaranteed to do a lot of walking in Blackpool. This room is not suitable for a family. Temperature for shower is temperamental and we all suffered from constant changing temperatures from burning to freezing. We spent as little time as possible in our room and felt let down. We avoided having breakfast, dinner or lunch and spending any other money in the premises because we did not feel the hotel deserved any other custom from us, we paid a high price for a poor quality room. We will in future avoid all Best Western hotels when booking a holiday.
Comfy bed and very clean bath a bit high to get in shower but managed
Meals were expensive
Very good breakfast, very good bed.
The position of this hotel is great.
The reception staff member on check-in did seem to know what they were doing.
The fact staff go out of their way to make sure you have a good stay, if something goes wrong they try their best to sort it out.

Stayed here many times. Great location. Dog friendly. Staff helpful. Good breakfast. Staying again in November.
No major issues. But the bath/shower don’t feel the safest. I’m sure I could have asked for a non slip bath mat but there wasn’t one in the room. And the water heat fluctuated while using. If you want to use it as a bath I think the side handles are dangerous. Very tight on the fingers. If you slipped you could break them. Also the tap in the sink Wasn’t good so drained slowly. Amd if you lifted the plug out fully it was very dirty (felt like I Was on Four in a bed lol)
Very friendly n very clean
Maybe a little quiet at night maybe sm jazz in the bar area would be nice x
Location and the exterior was beautiful
Bathroom could do with updating
Lovely meals, really lovely friendly staff, the rooms were good except we couldn’t really regulate the shower, really enjoyed our stay.
Maybe the shower, and the main door trying to hold open getting cases and bags in. The interior door was great because it was automatic. But everything was spot on.
Hotel was excellent. Clean, tidy and staff polite and helpful
The room was great on ground floor easy with wheel chair will be booking again thanks
The bed not as big so wheelchair can go round
Great location on the sea front. Comfortable accommodation, friendly staff.
It’s clean friendly and in a good location
I didn’t dislike anything
What was not to like Location, staff , breakfast, room twin sea view, cleanliness . Very nice hotel bus stop tram stop outside and convenience shop nearby .
Cant think of anything

What guests love
Areas to consider
Cleanliness
8.2/10Multiple guests repeatedly praised cleanliness of rooms and bedding; several mentions of very clean rooms and attentive cleaning staff. Some isolated cleanliness issues noted (bathroom grime, occasional fruit flies and a dog-related smell in some rooms).
Service
8.7/10Service is a strong point overall: many reviews describe staff as friendly, helpful, attentive and obliging (including a praised chef). A few negative incidents (one rude/swearing receptionist, reports of staff avoiding contact) are isolated but reduce the perfect score.
Location
8.4/10Location frequently praised: seaside/sea views, quiet area with tram nearby and easy access. Some rooms had poor views or overlooked a car park with rubbish, but location generally a positive.
Room Quality
7.1/10Mixed room quality: many report comfortable beds and clean rooms, but multiple guests noted small/tight rooms (family rooms or advertised rooms not matching expectations), dated bathrooms, and rooms that need revamping.
Amenities
7.9/10Amenities are adequate: breakfast service is strong and consistent, parking is available (often charged) and fans provided when needed. Some negatives around bar cleanliness (fruit flies) and parking availability/condition.
Value for Money
7/10Perceived value is average-to-slightly-below: positive cleanliness and service help value, but extra charges for parking, pricey drinks in the bar, and small/dated rooms lower perceived value for some guests.
Food and Beverage
8.3/10Food and beverage generally rated well: excellent and varied breakfasts, good dinner options noted. Some issues reported with bar (fruit flies) and drinks prices being high for guests staying in.
Overall Experience
7.6/10Overall stays are positive for many guests (would stay again, great short breaks) due to friendly staff, cleanliness and good breakfast; however isolated negatives (rude staff, dog smell, small rooms, parking problems) temper the overall experience.
Enjoy modern rooms with beautiful sea views and a convenient ground-floor accessible option for ease of use.
From hearty breakfasts to vegan and vegetarian dishes, the restaurant offers flavorful options to start or end your day.
Located at the northern end of Blackpool Promenade, it’s within a short walk of the town centre and major attractions.
