Beautiful property! The design is amazing, so is the location right by the lake. Incredible breakfast, beautiful onsen (which you can even use with tattoos!). Check-in staff - exceptional!

The lakeside restaurant was nothing special at all. The waiter barely spoke english, very difficult to understand. Food was also mid. I found it strange that we had to pay for hotel bicycles rental. You would think those 15$/3 hours could be included with a 1k$ room fee..

世界中のリッツに宿泊させて頂いておりますが、日光のリッツホテルは流石！おもてなし日本！世界のリッツを超えた素晴らいおもてなし、グローバルで、食事も素晴らしかったです。静寂で景色もおごそかで、 素晴らしい贅沢な時間、空間を独り占め出来る 心地の良いホテルでした。 スタッフの皆様も、お客様に心で寄り添って下さり感謝です。

I stayed at the Ritz-Carlton Nikko recently and honestly, it was one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The location alone makes it worth the trip — right on Lake Chuzenji, with the mountains and waterfalls of Nikko all around. It feels super peaceful and completely different from the city vibe of Tokyo. Rooms The rooms are huge by Japanese standards and beautifully designed. Think modern but with lots of Japanese touches — sliding doors, deep soaking tubs, and big windows that frame either the lake or the mountains. Mine had a lake view and waking up to that every morning was amazing. Food Food was excellent. Breakfast had both Japanese and Western options (the Japanese one was really special). Dinner was pricey, but the kaiseki course was worth it for the experience. If you want something lighter, there are cafés around the lake too. Onsen & Spa This is where the hotel really stands out. The onsen (hot spring) is incredible — both indoor and outdoor baths with natural hot spring water. Sitting outside in the hot bath while looking at the mountains was pure magic. Service super professional, but also warm and friendly. They remembered small details about preferences and made everything feel easy. Special thanks to Alex, Marek and Tiff. Overall If you’re heading to Nikko and want to splurge, this is the place. It’s not cheap, but it feels like an experience rather than just a hotel stay. Perfect for a co

部屋

食事が期待ほどではなかった

遅くても夕方6時くらいまでにホテルに到着した方が良いです。ホテルの周りでなかなか食事が出来ません。鳥居近くのペンションメロディーと言う名前だったと思いますがステーキ丼2200円などその他２人で5000円で満足な食事できました。19時には閉まります。ペンションの駐車場の横に酒屋さんあり、買い出しできました。リッツ・カールトンの中は別世界ですが周りにコンビニはないのでご注意下さい。

Super atas. Clean, everything is well thought of. Tip top class service, also not to forget to mention about the onsen. It has both hot and cold onsen, very clean with a hot sauna. All washing facilities are very clean and well kept. Also, both the Japanese restaurant and The Bar are astounding in design n service.

We could hear sound of footsteps of people living upstairs.

木造のは部屋が和を感じさせてくれてとてもよかった。温泉もついてるのはポイント高いです。海外の方が多くて食事は静かに食べたかったなと思いました。色々と要望に応えてくださりさすがラグジュアリーホテルだなと感じました。また行きたいです。

Rooms are spacious, comfortable, and well furnished

Food was significantly below expectations. The buffet style breakfast had poor choice, while box-style breakfast was not to everyone liking. The same situation with dinner, which was way overpriced. Additionally, the facilities of this caliber are expected to have a normal swimming pool that was absent.

We had the most wonderful time at the hotel! Staff were very professional and welcoming, breakfast was outstanding, the whole stay very relaxing! Onsent was incredible. The hotel is located by beautiful lake, great for walks and long runs!

We were expecting a fine hotel experience for our trip to Nikko but experienced so much more at the Ritz Carlton. Elevated, serene, beautiful facilities and accommodations along with one superlative food experience, made for one of our favorite stays anywhere, ever. Both of our rooms were wonderful, but the suite was just wonderful. All of the food was very good during our stay, but our omakase experience - our favorite sushi ever and one of our favorite meals ever. (For what it's worth, I have never used 'ever' so often in a review) Consistently friendly, helpful staff as well. This is a unique and special place and I fully expect that we'll retreat here again on future trips to Tokyo.

The hotel is a very good distance from the train station and Nikko proper so be prepared for long and winding taxi rides to and from (to give you a sense of the distance, iirc I think they were around $40+ each way). That said, it's a very pretty drive and there's a reason the Nikko is where it is - in the mountains, abutting the lake, (very) proximate to waterfalls, with gorgeous vistas from our lakeside rooms.

Special mention for the whisky’s bar. Onsen also, excellent. People smiling all the time.

The hotel property is amazing. But don’t like the area. Everything closed around 5:00 pm. There was no restaurant s in the area and shopping, so we have to eat at the hotel.

I would tell everyone traveling to japan to go to Nikko and to stay at this property. It is magical!!

Beautifully designed hotel. The rooms are huge and havw great views. We had the teppanyaki for dinner which was superb. The onsen was a really relaxing experience.

すばらしいホテルではあるが、料金との相対評価はどうかと感じる。ホテル内は基本高額であるが、中禅寺散歩はとてもサービスだけでなくゆっくり散歩して中禅寺の説明などとても良かった。

The Japanese restaurant has zero atmosphere. A minimal dress code should be imposed to avoid shorts and gym wear. Loud and unpleasant. A carpet in the room would be more cozy

最上級のホテルに温泉が併設されている上に、お部屋のお風呂もとても素敵で驚きました。鉄板焼きのお食事も栃木産の農産物、畜産物が使われていて至極の美味しさでした。 部屋の設えホテル内の設えスパの設えどこもおしゃれで日光彫りや鹿沼の木工技術を使ったインテリアは工芸品の中にいるような、とても贅沢な時間でした。温泉も部屋付きのお風呂も何度も入浴し、最高のホテルステイを満喫できました。

닛코 주젠지코 바로 앞에 있는 호텔 이쪽에서는 가장 좋은 호텔입니다 방도 쾌적하고 테라스도 있어서 밖에서도 즐길수 있어요 온천도 좋았고 노천온천의 수질도 훌륭했어요 조식도 괜찮았고 저녁 스시 오마카세도 맛있었어요 2일 연속으로 갔습니다 룸 청결도 만족했지만 다만 욕조 청소가 부실했어요 물때가 있어 좀 찝찝했어요 그래도 주젠지호의 호텔중 단연 일등입니다

The Ritz Carlton did not disappoint, Max checked us in made us feel so welcome. The entire staff was superb. The hotel fits beautifully into the surroundings would definitely stay there again.

Impressive architecture! Very beautiful interior design. Very clean everywhere. The staff was very kind and very keen to assist us. The location is perfect if you want to spend a short amount of time surrounded by nature.

The view is spectacular. The place could not be better located.

Could provide shuttle service to Nikko, and be clear on your website that the hotel is 18 km from world heritage sites. But this is minor.

The costs for food and drink or 2 to 3 times normal expensive hotel rates. One expects expensive, but this was a little like highway robbery.

先ずは、いろは坂登り切ったところに位置しています。 外観、内装、社員全てに隙がありません。 夕食のフレンチも田浦さんがサーブしてくださり、最高の対応。 朝食は部屋で、食べました。和食ですが、パン、サラダ、プリン、ヨーグルトも頼めました。素晴らしいの一言です。 最後に私は電気自動車Teslaに乗ってますが、Tesla充電器もありました。 最高でした。

The staff are very nice and helpful, have a wonderful warm welcome and everyone working diligently. During my stay all the staff have been very supportive and nice, especially the F&B staffs. Thank you for such a memorable trip.

Excellent location, very spacious room with excellent view of the lake. Staff were all nice and helpful. Food quality was good too. The yukata provided was way toooo long for Asian (even small size). It was too transparent and not soft enough. The lake area was rather cool but no “vest” to wear outside the yukata was provider. I couldnt enjoy the nice garden with my yukata… it was too cold. Besides, please consider to serve milk at the onsen resting room. It was my first time in Japanese onsen that no milk was provided. No matter it is free of charge to not, it should have it. It is just the culture and some customers like me would be expecting it. Except the milk and yukata….. it is almost perfect. We did enjoy my stay very much.
