Amazing views from our room. The reception staff were very accommodating even though the air con was gone. They couldn’t have got us a better room and brought up fans!

Mi è piaciuta moltissimo la posizione, soprattutto la vicinanza a Times Square e ai principali mezzi di trasporto. Nei dintorni si trova davvero di tutto e di più, quindi è molto comodo per vivere la città e avere tutto a portata di mano. Ho apprezzato tantissimo anche lo staff, sempre gentile, disponibile e alla mano, pronto ad aiutarci e a darci supporto in caso di qualsiasi difficoltà.

Non c’è nulla che non mi sia piaciuto. Il soggiorno è stato davvero molto piacevole e non ho avuto aspetti negativi da segnalare.

Air conditioner did not work and it was so hot. Did not sleep. They couldn’t change rooms till the next day. Smallest hotel room I have ever had in my 45 years of staying in New York. Check in was a nightmare. Elevators were malfunctioning .

The entrance to the hotel is very hard to find. I walked past it several times because the entrance looked like the place they take out the laundry and trash. The place needs a better, plush entrance.

I wanted to commend the entire junior staff for their excellent service. Kevin at Reception and Breana on the floor truly stood out; they both went the extra mile to keep guests smiling. Carlos was also wonderful in helping us arrange a taxi to JFK.

My experience with the front-line and junior staff was the highlight of my interactions.

The room didn’t have AC it was broken, the bathroom door was broken too and it had batteries holding it in place, they couldn’t give us an other room so we slept w fans which did not help and the room was 80 degrees in the middle of summer

The air co diction was not Working. Even after changing rooms the temperature never went below 75 F though was set at 68 F. In this warm weather … was really warm.

The location was perfect, especially for AnimeNYC!! It was pretty much in the middle of the Javits Center and Time Square, where me and my boyfriend spent most of our time at while we were staying here. The staff was super helpful during every part of our stay. Also the housekeeping was fantastic! Everything was kept tidy and clean throughout our stay.

The only major thing we did not like was the elevator wait times. When the lobby was busy, it would be up to a 20 minute wait or more to get back up to our room. After being out and walking for hours, it wasn’t very fun to stand and wait around while tired.

Staff not helpful during check in and check out. Zero help with the bags or holding the door so we could come through with the bags. The room is REALLY SMALL. It won't fit two suitcases in it. The couple staying next door left their baby cart outside by the door because it wouldn't fit in their room. When I say you wont be able to open you suitcase without blocking a path in your room, I'm not joking. Not staying there ever again, but great location!

It was my wife’s birthday, and we were truly surprised by the beautiful birthday decorations. We were pleasantly surprised and touched by this thoughtful gesture. Thank you so much (Amalia, lobby decoration)! The room was clean and comfortable, and the rooftop bar with its stunning view was absolutely amazing. Overall, an excellent place with a great balance of price and quality. Highly recommended!

Extremely disappointing experience with front desk staff and dining services. When we arrived at 7:00 AM on August 19th (for a booking reserved from August 18–21), we found our entire reservation had been marked as a "no show." The front desk staff was very rude, completely unhelpful, and showed zero empathy toward two exhausted travelers. Instead of assisting us smoothly, they offered no certainty that our room would even be ready by standard check-in (3:00 PM), forcing us to leave the property and purchase a separate day pass elsewhere just to rest. To make matters worse, breakfast hours were listed until 11:00 AM, but when we went down at 10:40 AM, the staff had already shut down the continental breakfast bar. Because of this, we were forced to order expensive à la carte sandwiches instead of the $15 continental option we planned on. Between the poor communication, early service closures, and unwelcoming customer service, this stay fell far below the DoubleTree standard. To add to the frustration, it was my birthday on August 19th and my wife's birthday on August 20th. We politely inquired about a complimentary upgrade to celebrate, but staff showed total apathy and did nothing.

The room was too small, no free breakfast, no microwave or refrigerator. No where to put suitcases or bags. There was no walk around room in the room, and the bed took up most of the space. The price of the room. The parking was horrible, and I had to walk 2 blocks to the parking garage.

Front desk staff was very rude and unprofessional at the time of check in or during the stay. There was no room service and when I asked for water bottles they told me to go to the front desk. When ever I went there, they told me to wait in the que of check in guests and wait 20-30 mins to get water bottles. There were many guests like me who had to wait. They could have simply assigned another desk or staff to hand out water bottles but if you complaint they would give me an even rude reply.

Algunos empleados tienen muy mal modo y las contestaciones son agresivas. Todos los días se hacen colas eternas ( una sola para.todas las cosas) para.hacer el check in, el check out, preguntar o pedir algo. El front desk es increiblemente desorganizado. Hay que ir con paciencia, por que como dije antes las contestaciones o respuestas en general son de muy mala manera.

The location was great. It was close to everything we needed!

The check in process was extremely long and congested which made the lobby area super packed. The elevator wait was outrageous even with 4 of them available. The room was tight and wallpaper was peeling off the walls. The air conditioning went out completely during our stay which made our room super uncomfortable on a summer day and night on the 16th floor. I don’t think the elevators or hallways had air conditioning at all.

I stayed at this hotel for two days. The air conditioning wasn't working, and we were roasting while sleeping for both nights.Also, no outlets were working so I could not charge my phone. The reception staff was very rude. When I asked for water, they told me I had to wait in a line of 10 people before they would give me any. After that, I asked for 3 bottles of water, but they said they only give out 2—it was like a joke. The shower door wouldn't close, so water got everywhere. The check-in line took exactly an hour; it was incredibly crowded. The price on Booking was $658, but I was charged $758 at the hotel, and I want a refund for the overcharged amount. It was the worst hotel stay of my life.

We walked into a lobby full of at least 100 people. With no air conditioning working, on an 86 degree day. It was chaos. No on advising people what was happening, no real management to be seen. People were trying to check in, air conditioning wasn’t working in rooms, some people were being sent up to their rooms which hadn’t been cleaned from previous guests. A horrible experience! We requested a refund and left!

Really comfortable beds with well kitted bathrooms! Wonderful views of the city skyline and yummy cookies on arrival! Kevin did the most to ensure we were taken care of on arrival and welcomed us so well into the property!

The waiting for lifts and LONG queues for check in. Sometimes the location and the type of people lingering near the door means going out onto the street can be very daunting/vulnerable especially as a woman.

The location was great! And the staff at the reception were nice and helpful.

Expensive, maybe the high price is because of the good location. The Rooftop bar was so disappointing! Not at all modern, it looked much better in the photos than in reality.

Kamers, lobby, eigenlijk was alles vanaf inchecken tot vertrek slecht! Inchecken duurde ongeveer anderhalf uur in de wachtrij. Ze checken pas in vanaf 15.00uur, om 14.00 wordt je gevraagd om 15.00 terug te komen. Op dat moment is er een rij van anderhalf uur.

The aircon was broken. Staff ignored our ask for a new room for 24 hours and we ended up getting a refund. Were very rude and did not seem like they wanted to help us at all. We had to chase a new room, and instead of accommodating for us, we were offered fans in a 30 degree room. Rooms were tiny for the price, outdated and dirty. Beds weren’t very comfortable. Lobby was always busy with people checking in, but mostly with people complaining about the hotel. We stayed at the Westin in grand central and had a much better experience.

We came to the hotel and the airconditioning in the whole hotel was not working. Therefore they cancelled our reservation, but in the cancellation we were told it was a late cancellation from our side and cancellation fee might paid. Till this day I still haven’t received my payment back. Terrible service!

Unacceptable experience – stay far away from this hotel! Unfortunately, our stay was plagued by one problem after another. The most serious incident occurred when the hotel mistakenly charged us a $3,050 (!!!) security deposit. When we raised the issue at reception, the staff initially seemed completely confused about what had happened. We had to speak to several different employees before, after numerous attempts, someone finally understood the problem and managed to resolve it. Incorrectly charging a guest such a significant amount is unacceptable in itself; the way the situation was handled made it even worse. We also experienced continuous problems with the air conditioning, to the point that the hotel offered to move us to another room on two separate occasions. We reported the issue multiple times and were promised that it would be repaired, yet the air conditioning still failed to work properly. During the summer in New York, functioning air conditioning is not a luxury – it is a basic expectation. Guests should not have to spend their vacation repeatedly dealing with room changes and the same unresolved maintenance issue. On top of this, the reception area was almost constantly overcrowded, with extremely long waiting times. Even dealing with a simple request or reporting a problem could take an unreasonable amount of time. What was perhaps most shocking, however, was the attitude of the staff. When we once again complained that the air conditioning was still not working, we were essentially told that “if you don’t like it, you can check out at any time.”This is an absolutely unacceptable way to speak to paying guests who are simply asking to receive the standard of service they paid for. Even the hotel’s convenient location cannot make up for the mistaken $3,050 charge, the recurring air-conditioning problems, being offered two room moves, the constant queues, the poor organization, and above all, the unacceptable attitude toward guests when problems arise.

The bed was very comfortable; the view from the 14th floor (north) was nice; it's located very close to major attractions, Penn station, and subway entrances (A,C,E); the room has climate control settings and a widow that can open (not fully of course); the rooftop bar has a great view of both sides of Manhattan; the staff were very friendly, and helpful.

The building has only 4 elevators for 36 floors of rooms, it took a long time to catch the elevator; you need to tap your room key to push the buttons, even to go back to the lobby, which wasn't explained to us in the lobby, so we tapped to go up, but didn't know to tap to go down; the lobby could use more seating, but it is a small space so it's understandable; our room was switched from a king bed to a double bed due to an AC issue and a booked hotel, while this was a very minor inconvenience, it was a bit unfortunate since this was meant to be more of a couples date trip for us; the shower water temp kept fluctuating constantly, the shower handle was loose, and the shower leaked water pretty easily onto the floor; hallways and elevators were pretty hot, the only real escape from the heat was the climate controlled room.

Friendly staff, especially Fatima at the front desk. The housekeeping team were also very kind and welcoming. I appreciated the thoughtful touches in the room, such as the towels shaped into two swans forming a heart, as well as seeing my name displayed on the TV with NYC pictures playing in rotation. The bed was comfortable, and the AC worked very well. The location is also convenient and within easy reach of many of New York City’s main tourist attractions.

No mini fridge to keep drinks cool, and the room could definitely use more lighting as it feels quite dark. The lobby is extremely crowded on most days, and sometimes it takes 15 to 20 minutes just to get an elevator. There are four elevators, but one seems to be regularly unavailable to guests as it is used by staff for laundry and other services. When I arrived at around 12pm, I was told that check-in was at 3pm and that I would need to come back later. I completely understand that 3pm is the official check-in time, but I would have appreciated it if they had at least checked whether a room was available earlier. A little effort or flexibility in this situation would have made the arrival experience much more welcoming.

I did not like that our room was not correct and they refused to change it, we had no air conditioning and it was said it was to be fixed and it NEVER was, no airflow, unsafe and not clean. I would never stay here again. The staff did not provide fans or any assistance.
