The room was comfortable and the breakfast was great. The staff were very helpful.

The stairs, , but that was expected. Limited place to sit other than the bar when meeting up with friends/relatives.

The location was brilliant

It really needs modernised. The carpets are filthy. Rooms are grubby.

At reception was met with a young lady who insisted on carrying our two heavy suitcases up to the 1st floor room. I was very impressed. I was glad of the cooler weather because I imagine the room might have been tricky when the heat-wave was on.

Booked here as on the pilgrim route from London to Canterbury. Historic pub full of character Room comfortable and quiet however note No external window in bedroom. Disappointed that no mention of this in booking information and despite sending a note asking for a window with an outlook there was no reply to say that my room would in fact have no external window. Also sadly the cleaning was sub par with shaving hairs in basin and on toilet However still enjoyed the atmosphere and the breakfast. And the staff were all welcoming and helpful

Der Pub war urig und gemütlich. Die Zimmergröße war ausreichend. Die Lage in der Nähe des Bahnhofs war perfekt, so dass man mit dem Zug günstig nach London fahren kann. Der private Parkplatz ist schwer zu finden, aber das Auto steht dort sicher.

Die Zimmer und das gesamte Hotel sind nicht sauber. Zimmerservice gibt es nicht. Den Föhn hab ich nicht gefunden. Wir hatten die Klimaanlage unter dem Fenster, welche ständig laute Geräusche machte. Aber das war nichts zu dem Ventilator auf dem Gang eine Etage tiefer. Dass ein Hotel genutzt wird, ist uns klar, aber pflegen wäre trotzdem von Vorteil.

The hotel was very close to the shops, transport and theatre. The staff were friendly and helpful. It is a great hotel to stay in if visiting the Orchard theatre. Free parking.

The bed was a little uncomfortable but not a problem.

Room was unbearably hot, even with 2 fans running. Shower didn't work properly, only a dribble of water.

If you are going to the Orchard Theatre, this is the ideal place to stay. Food is good. Beware this is an old building with lots of character and lots of stairs.

Why oh why do staff have to enter your room without knocking before check out ? Surely they must know if people have checked out or not 🤬

The TV was falling apart. The curtains didn't block the sunlight. We couldn't really cool down the room.

Staff are so friendly. Bed was spotless, clean and comfortable. Rooms are dated but it's a very old original London establishment with a fab history. So many places to eat and pubs on doorstep

Proximity to puregym and the free parking. Puregym was a 5 minute walk and the parking was directly behind the hotel.

The hotel is run down and the room wasn’t even as clean as I would expect from a low budget Hotel. I found celotape waste in my bed, that had clearly been rolled off something it had held together. My bath was stained and dirty, like it hadn’t been cleaned in years. If I had been with my partner I would of cancelled my booking and stayed elsewhere. There was a strange smell lingering in the corridors and the room and there was damp in the corner of the room. There were no plugs by the side of the bed, which is a standard expectation for any hotel.

Loved the quirkiness and old surroundings. On arrival a slender young lady kindly took our two heavy suitcases and whisked them upstairs with no difficulty……..I would have struggled with just one. Very impressive.

Great location,tho we didn't have time to venture out. Bit tricky getting to the car park but all good in the end . Lovely quirky bar in what I can only describe as a courtyard, now enclosed. But lots of history.. beautiful old building

We hadden voor de tweede keer op rij geboekt omdat het een leuk typisch Engels hotel is en qua reistijd gunstig ligt tov Brands Hatch.

Door het glazen dak was het erg warm binnen. De ramen van de kamers kunnen bijna niet open en er is totaal geen airco

Greeted by a lovely lady at the bar. Everything was straight forward. No complaints at all. We come back late from a wedding and it was easy to access the room after hours. The pub has great character and wish we made more of our time there

The bed was lovely, comfortable and high(which I prefer), and the room was in a really good location in the hotel for me. It wasn't the room I thought I had booked but it was still lovely and roomy. There was an unexpected heat wave in the UK at my time of staying so a 2nd fan would have been handy but that's no biggie. Staff were really lovely and friendly as I was nervous on my arrival, they made me feel at ease.

No complaints at all. I had a wobbly table in my room but made the staff aware on checkout, as I did not need to use it during my stay.

Staff were friendly and helpful, good free parking and very convenient position in the town. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good.

Only real problem due to kitchen issue no food was available on the evening of our stay. But there was plenty of alternatives nearby.

De kamer is Schots en scheef, als je kijkt lijk het net het Villa Volta huis vd Efteling zo scheef staat alles. Daarbij is het personeel kort en bondig en niet aardig. Tijdens het ontbijt is er niemand, als je dan eindelijk iemand vind mag je 'ergens' gaan zitten in de daarvoor bestemde omgeving en neemt ze de bestelling op en na een paar minuten brengt ze de bestelling en daarna zie of hoor je ook helemaal niemand. Je kunt niks vragen of bijbestellen, er ligt geen fruit of iets dergelijks....erg magertjes allemaal en duidelijk het tekort aan personeel is zichtbaar

Comfortable bed. Nice breakfast, and member of staff working in the breakfast room was welcoming and friendly.

Decor could do with sprucing up. Staff on bar when I checked in were not in the least bit friendly or welcoming.

It was convenient and close to work. Breakfast was typical. Room was not good.

Staff could be a tad friendlier and attentive to your needs. Asked for some toast and as soon they turned away they forgot!

The property, was very different and unique. The room was spacious and the bathroom was a good size.

When having a shower, it felt as the water wasn’t draining properly and that the bathroom was going to flood.
